This is the best Castlevania hack I've ever seen! I especially love all the new sprites used in this hack, some of them are from Simon's Quest, while most of them are brand new customs! I really love Simon's sprite, which is now an awesome 8-bit version of Ayami Kojima's Simon design from Castlevania Chronicles! Oh, and Dracula looks freaking sweet!
That's certainly one of the more creative hacks I've seen, I'll say that. Looks a might too challenging for my taste, but good job on that walkthrough.
Wowee, this fan game really captures the tight level design of the classic games: it really make ya feel tense throughout~ The boss fight adjustments and replacements sport improved combat mechanics and I even like the soundtrack rearrangement-!! My favourite design choice is the constant pressure placed on the player by a mix of enemy types cooperating to oppose the player at once. The colour palette is a rather strange mix between the bright contrast of the 1st game and the dullness of the 2nd, and there seems to be a reliance on the Bone Tower enemies + stairs, + pits, + Medusa Head formula, which might dullen this short experience for some. I'm thoroughly amazed by this project, I hope the designer is proud of it~ If only my friends and I could conveniently purchase this physically.
Oh man what a hack! The redrawn sprites were pretty awesome, especially Draculas second form. Though, Medusa didn't have the same impact on me with the original one. Those soulless eyes of hers always scared me as a kid. Nice run, nice run indeed. Some of those levels(4 and up)looked like a major pain in the butt.
I appreciate that that's what they're going for, but that look already kinda sucked in chronicles. It made him look half naked. Why would you take off armour when you're going into battle. What you gonna do, seduce Death with your juicy sexy thighs? The other look, in the normal mode of Chronicles, looks much better
Anyone else notice that the soundtrack to the first half of this game mirrored the same playlist of the Castlevania song by the Minibosses? That was pretty neat. Also, I like how they incorporated Simon's red look from Castlevania Chronicles, the sprite looks good.
Pretty damned impressive hack! Great gameplay and some really inventive new bosses! Kudos to you for playing through this with no deaths, too! I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been trying to navigate some of the pitfall areas with those damned Medusa Heads flying about.
the palette is awesome. i hated to play CV 1-3 because of the psychedelic color mix... this seems solid and well thought. the layouts are also hardcore. me gusta!
holy water you can walk through enemies and bosses before effect wears off so you don't get cornered. other castlevania game you can't. but very useful.
The final boss graphics are like 1000 times cooler than "the cookie monster". A gigantic vampire bat skeleton is what is should have been in the first place!
I honestly gotta say...This doesn't look that bad from a difficulty standpoint. Actually, it looks really well balanced between taxing and enjoyable so that you don't have to be some twitch master to get through it. I like that. In this day an age with stuff like Super Meat Boy and Kaizo Mario, having modders come together to make a balanced, yet difficult, game, is nice.
Just completing the game in the first place is a major achievement in its self, (slow clap) but doing it in less than 25 mins..... GG my friend..... GG! 🤘🏻
Great hack, I just wish that the creator put different music like some from the 1st castlevania game but others from like CV2 or CV3 then it would have been awesome :)
I am trying to play castlevania overflow darkness on my everdrive, but no matter what i try, when i enter the castle the screen turns black and the music keeps playing the same single note. Anyone here has any idea what i could try?
Level design seems pretty unforgiving, but at leasst they fixed the Death battle, because on the original version you just don't have enough room to fight without using the holy water cheat.
@@levelengineSR *You were not supposed to see this. This was before I decided to just ditch CastleVania as a whole, & go back into RSD Game-Maker. Not even going to touch Lunar Magic.*
2199 is a hack, there are people that will get a game, and then edit some stuff and create an entirely new game, then they reproduce it on nes, snes cartriges
2 things : a) the second level its just more harder than level 3 and 4 maybe...... and the music.... the songs are in a real BADDDDDD order....... anyway , good hack
Dracula at the end was too easy !!...The demon he turns into all he did was jump !!...Hell at least at the end of the original Castlevania the vampire demon breathed fire balls and he was a hell lot more terrifying !!! That little thing they had him turn to was a wimp !!!
+cleve stuckey Final boss in this hack breathes fireballs as well. But, just like in original game he never uses this attack if you do not stay too far away from him after he jumps.
ArekTheAbsolute The hack author should've fixed that, then. He was able to add two new bosses to the game, so why not make Dracula a little more challenging, as well
The credit is surelly better than the original, instead of making puns of horror movie director names, It actually have shown the consequences, aswell as made It feel like as if it was only the beggining.
This is the best Castlevania hack I've ever seen!

Oh, and Dracula looks freaking sweet!
Words can't describe how much I love the little 8 bit Chronicles Simon sprite
Sweet artwork and bosses! I love the new layouts as well!

This is basically Castlevania 1 with Chronicles Simon and music changed places
EDIT: Still very awesome
this man is doing what is known as a *Pro Gamer Move*
You went through this thing like it was a walk in the park. Hats off to you sir.
Overflow Darkness and Chorus of Mysteries. Can't choose between these two.
One of the best CV1 hacks/mods I ever seen so far!!!…. Great Work!
The best hack I've seen of Castlevania. For some reason though, that main character sprite feels like a boss character.
It was based on simon's design from Castlevania chronicles arrange mode.
I appreciate that that's what they're going for, but that look already kinda sucked in chronicles. It made him look half naked. Why would you take off armour when you're going into battle. What you gonna do, seduce Death with your juicy sexy thighs?

@@duffman18 Simon's thigh's are also thick on his original design.....
As a big fan of the original Castlevania, I am impressed! A challenge, even for the most, veteran Castlevania fans, like myself! Really awesome!
Anyone else notice that the soundtrack to the first half of this game mirrored the same playlist of the Castlevania song by the Minibosses? That was pretty neat. Also, I like how they incorporated Simon's red look from Castlevania Chronicles, the sprite looks good.

This is just CV1 with improvement in level spike and combat
the palette is awesome. i hated to play CV 1-3 because of the psychedelic color mix... this seems solid and well thought. the layouts are also hardcore. me gusta!
Dracula looks freakin awesome in both of his forms! I wouldve love those 2 in the original game instead...
This is the best CV rom hack ..

Hmm, maybe they could have used this Simon in Harmony of Despair, they used the red-haired Simon's picture in there after all..
nice !!!!!
this is one of the best CV hack I ever seen !!!!!
I'll download this.
This is a professional remake! THe best hack i know
Graphics are gorgeous!

This hack makes CV3 like a cake walk.
CV3 is the only one I haven't finished. So freaking hard.
0:06: Game Start
Game is really awesome. Ya did a great job on that hack.
I will never get it why players deliberately avoid all the candles or get any hearts guess that's one way of saying "Yo I'm pro yo!"
well, if you are speed running, hiting candles takes like a second. Also you don't want to get a sub weapon that's not suitable for the stage.
Dracula X also allowed you to pick up your previous subweapon, which was nice if you changed your mind or whatnot.
good to see the CVChronicles versions and Simon and Dracula in this!
Just completing the game in the first place is a major achievement in its self, (slow clap) but doing it in less than 25 mins..... GG my friend..... GG! 🤘🏻
2:44: Area Clear
The first boss of this game kind of reminds of me those things from Metroid. "Rios i believe they're called.
"Would not forgotten ever." :)
Dracula looks like Doom 3 final boss.....
With the fact this hack uses version of Simon from Chronicles, it would've been nice if Simon's Theme had played on first or final level.
Dracula looks like Danzig
Oh my god, this looks awesome.
Great hack, I just wish that the creator put different music like some from the 1st castlevania game but others from like CV2 or CV3 then it would have been awesome :)
That sort of happened during the last two stages from Super Castlevania IV though
You had a real close call there at 12:35.
i definitely would love to play this game. cool
I think this is how it should have looked back in the day.
Congratulations one and the most original remake I've ever seen in my life deserves to be called Castlevania HD remastered
It isn't a remaster nor is it HD
This is one of the most ludicrously difficult games I've ever played. Can't even get past Stage 5 (the second level).
Didn't know any Castlevania 1 hacks existed. Going to down these. Are there any available for Android? Also is the Castlevania 2 & 3 hacks as well?
I am trying to play castlevania overflow darkness on my everdrive, but no matter what i try, when i enter the castle the screen turns black and the music keeps playing the same single note. Anyone here has any idea what i could try?
Looks awesome. Does not look easy, that's for sure. ;)
Arek whats the best CV hack of them all in your personal opinion?
hey does anyone know what kind of level editor they used to make this hack?
+doublebass1985 never heard of it but it said it was made with Stake Editor in the credits
Level design seems pretty unforgiving, but at leasst they fixed the Death battle, because on the original version you just don't have enough room to fight without using the holy water cheat.
And I thought hacks sucked. The art style is even better than the original!
Good job!
@TheOriginal3P
Not much use in it. Only if I wanted to get more hearts, but there was no need in that.
Where can I download>
If you were to not put "No Death Walkthrough" on your title, it would have made this even more exiting on the suspenseful parts.
rock star belmont
It's actually an 8-bit version of Simon's design from Castlevania Chronicles
I know after watching someone elses walkthrough that fifth boss may be harder than death. He makes it look simple.
Chiapas 2011? like in Mexico? also, that's one handsome Dracula
Awesome! *_*
hecho por un mexicano, hizo un gran trabajo
Very good Hack made in Mexico
Could you link me a download of this? Not the IPS file which I try to use then it crashes after the first screen.
The game looks amazing, although Dracula looked kind of easy and not as threatening as he should look.
how do u play this file once its downloaded?
If it's a dot rom extension you'll need an NES emulator.
I was wondering what are and the names of the new bosses?
Great graphics hack
Hay muchas vesiones de este castle vania
Looks like a x68000 version demake
Castlevania 1 hacks make a lot of sense, because Konami are always remaking that game anyway.
muito bom essa remasterização,mais o melhor é o castlevania 3
where can i get this?
wow this is BEST hack evar :D
Looks nice. Where can I buy this?
You can find carts of it on Etsy, like I did at some point.
Way better dracula...and demon form...much improved.
what is the bgm?
I mean 'versions of'...

Go to romhacking[dot]net - I downloaded it from there.

Neat-o!
yes, extremely difficult...beats it in one try with no deaths
