The entire plot consists of the writer coming up with bs power to progress the plot, then just forgetting about them. Escanor's a fucking chad though. Keep up the work bro, i'll see you on the top.
Let me explain the problem with each season (Other than the animation) best shown in a timeline (Bullet points of course). Season 1: - Absolutely phenominal, nothing I would change Season 2: - Introduction of Power levels - power creeping already existing characters, effectively rendering them useless (minus Hendrickson and Dreyfus for a bit). - Finally introducing a goddess clan member, and then killing her off after 30 seconds of screen time. What was the point? - Overall, not a bad season, but power levels serve as a double edged sword. On one hand, it hypes up certain characters, on the other hand, it kinda makes fights very predictable (Meliodas vs Galand first fight). Season 3: - Plot getting too convoluted, - Elizabeth's character is ruined and becomes blander than ever. - Diane becomes a crybaby. - Gowther becomes a crybaby, and loses his only character trait that actually made him interesting. When he came full circle, he just became bland. - If it wasn't for the show reminding me of these useless characters, I would've forgotten Gil, Howzer, Griamore, Guila and the rest of the useless buffoons. Season 4: - Ruined Merlin's character with that last shitty arc that shouldn't have existed in the first place (Ever heard of the expression: "Sometimes, mysteries are better left unsolved"? Yeah. I didn't think so). - The four archangels are fucking lame, especially Ludociel, Sariel and Tarmiel. Why are they in the show? - That atrocious fakeout - The whole concept of the Nemesis power move makes Escanor's death feel more unnecessary (If he can just full counter a bunch of attacks, why even include Escanor's attack?) - The Demon King is lame as shit, loses practically every fight he is in, minus the 100,000+ fights that happend offscreen in purgatory. - Where is the Supreme Deity? Oh, she's also lame, and she's supposed to come later in one of the worst movies (minus the fanservice) of all time. Fair enough. - The pacing is so incredibly slow, and every episode ends on an uninteresting cliffhanger. Half of the episodes also seemed like the writer was in a panic, and had to tie some loose ends (ruin some more characters. He certainly achieved that). - The fact that so many of the fights don't make any sense, because I still have that "Power level mentality" lingering in myself. Also, power levels are mentioned once early on in the season, and once in the epilogue, so that shows how useless the gimmick had become. Of course, just my opinion, but I think most would agree with these points, or at least recognize them to a certain extent.
Yeah, the angels were also introduced or utilized too late in the series. A lot of build up for characters that become irrelevant in general and unsatisfying character arcs.
Sad thing is literally all of the other sins are more interesting than Meliodas and Elizabeth. They kept bringing back characters who should have stayed like Metrona and Elaine. And they reduced the holy knights to being a peanut gallery.
I remember Reading the manga weekly and the author kept saying how the next arc was the last and this was the final fight over and over it was so sad and pathetic dude was an o.g. click baiter 😂
Thats wrong, the creator never said that . People where just spreading rumours due to there theories and the interview they found where the creators states the main series is about Arthur
8th sub, one of maaaaany more to come, remember us when you hit that 100k milestone. This is some big channel content, nice and confident voice, funny jokes and all in all good editing. Good luck, you'll go far if you continue, i know it.
Really didn't like how they handles Gilthunder. It seems like they were setting him up be a big player, but then they turned him into a background nobody
Ok but that estarossa vs meliodas clones OP bit makes me wish he had more fights like that, cuz thats some skill to fight multiple combatants hand to hand
I still love every season, I think Zeldris was kinda bland with no actual back story so I'm kinda glad he did but it was just a ban and Meliodas repeat, I loved ban's story and I still think the series Is amazing, I'm going to read the manga soon so hopefully It's better.
Personally I think Meliodas is one of the worst shonen protags in recent memory. His personality is bland, the jokes involving him make him look like a sex offender and that's the entirety of the comedy surrounding him, his powers are super edgy but really really boring and look awful (though it's probably the art style that's to blame here) and full counter is only cool once or twice before becoming a stupid gimmick. Like jeez, he's terrible. Just my opinion though.
The concept was good and I do believe that every sin had an amazing character arc and the writing for the character development was on point and never truly fell off I think it always kept building upon itself as each sin conquered their sin. But the writing for the overall story is just… it’s real bad. Season one and season two are good then season three got a lot worse then it just kept going downhill. Ppl complained about the animation quality but honestly I never really cared about the animation anyways I valued the story which fell off hard. But I still love the character arcs every character goes through, especially Ban and King
About the kid power level I dont think it matters that much in S1 since the series made it obvious he is just a counter to whatever you throw... You blast he turns ur blast against u 10x I dont think he should be suposed to be more then a mirror
It was definitely overlooked during its run, there is One piece and Naruto Shippuden in the spotlight unfortunately. Its a great series though, loved the characters and can't get enough of Meliodas saying "sate sate sate".
Yeah so, the only thing I see me agreeing with you is the fact that the demon king is a quite boring villain, but 7ds is not just a normal Shonen like others, it has some really deep meaning of things, the characters are so well written that I prefer Howzer than piccolo from dragon ball, and the story is the best part of the series, it's the most original thing this shonen has, the real problem was that the studio animation couldn't rapresent the feelings that the manga can give, so yeah 7ds is one if the best Shonen out there, If not the best in my opinion
Deep meanings? Like what? I agree with the OP, the series started off strong then almost everyone but the sins got pushed off to the side like they don’t exist. Gilthunder was hyped up to be the top dog of his group only for him to become fodder. Same with Jericho. It was a weak series.
when i watched the anime I'm pretty sure I dropped it after season 2 and then I read the manga after I read the manga I went back to make myself suffer by watching the last two seasons not gonna lie I wish I could wash my face with holy water after I watched those trash ass seasons also I was like my eyes their burning
the fights are so boring and are in my opinion the worst part of the show (besides escanor fights), if the fights actually had consistency and unique powers instead of people just punching eachother would have made it better. The other issue witht the fights is a lot just has no dramatic buildup or any drama at all.
I fell of during season 2, and it's good that I did, apparently. The romance in particular was iffy, with Meliodas harassing Elizabeth so many times (he got one of the few shonen girls who didn't punch him into a wall), and the fairies usually staying in their child form, making Ban with Elaine and King with Diane feeling icky, aesthetically.
I binged watch all the season and i gotta say, i actually enjoyed it alot. I guess because i was new to anime, i didn't even pay attention to the bad animations. I think the reason it fell down was the writing kinda lacking in between
Nah 7DS is fire, especially the manga. The sequel (4 Knights of the Apocalypse) is even better, direct improvement. Can't wait for the anime to release in October!

Imo first half of s2 was ok, kinda building up these mysterious, strong foes. Second half and third season are fit for the gutter
you wrote THAT!? you just earned a like my boy
Yeah, the angels were also introduced or utilized too late in the series. A lot of build up for characters that become irrelevant in general and unsatisfying character arcs.
You know…. I would like this show if it wasn’t for all the weird relationships with the main characters, like meliodas kind of raised his girlfriend
I did like Jericho until I found out how she is written in the newest manga.

Escanor is peak
Na king and Diane are both lame characters and their backstory and relationship is bland at best. Gother is an honorable mention as well.
