No, there is. Do you even know Elizabeth's side of things? That isn't fully revealed until after the 3,000-year flashback. I don't understand how people peg Mel as any sort of pedophile-he isn't attracted to young kids, he's attracted to Elizabeth specifically because she is his lover.
