This version brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Now I need to stock up on tissues. He brings a sense of sadness to the lyrics & giving what's going on in the world around us now it's rightfully so. The deep rattling sound is produced electronically. The rest is all Geoff. With light there is no darkness , with sound there is no silence . With Geoff's version I consider it a wake up call. He makes you feel the pain without the anger. Just pure sadness & he shows us this in every way. The man is a genius.

Great reaction! I find this version so powerful yet sorrowful at the same time - beautifully done. Keeping the harmonising Geoffs off screen was right for this performance, IMO, as I think actually seeing them would have broken the spell he was weaving. Have to say that the climax of the song, with Geoff stood belting his higher range and putting his whole self into the emotion of it, was the highlight for me - a glimpse of Geoff as rock star. That is something I would love to see more of!!
Awesome reaction to an amazingly beautiful song by Geoff. My favorite was Simon and Garfunkel into heard I heard Geoff sing it. A don't let me get started on the video. Layne did an awesome job on the camera. And Eli with the lighting. Not sure about the bass drops. Ill have to ask Geoff in his next monthly chat. I think its some type of instrument but I could be wrong because he does it in Nothing Else Matters as well. Geoff and these guys are so extremely talented in everything they do. Love ya❤

Geoff is such a master at arranging and singing this. It's one of those singular poetry/music that has stood the test of time and many people have covered it. But in my opinion it is the best of the covers (I'll leave the poets Simon and Garfunkel in the place they have earned). I can't think of any cover that came close to capturing all the emotions that were a part of the lyrics. I did listen to Disturbed but it felt one-dimensional to me with just anger displayed, Geoff played all of the emotions that S&G built into that song and it was perfect. Can we declare him a national treasure? Pappy D - I like your Gator hat. I worked at UF for 14 yrs, evaluating research first in Chemical Engineering and later in Material Science and Engineering. When we moved up to the panhandle I went back into the university, this time at FSU but kept my orange and blue flowers on my desk.

that low bass rattle you mentioned at the start, is a sub 808 bass, not Geoff himself. Geoff told us during the premiere 🙂
