Geoff Castellucci's version of "Ain't No Sunshine" is possibly my favourite cover he has done. He is also in a mostly acapella group called Voice Play and they do amazing covers as well. The whole group is great at creating a character with their voice. Like in This is Halloween from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, or Oogie Boogie. And so many others. Great humor too.

Yes he's a low bass singer. His name is Geoff Castellucci. Geof is short for Geoffrey ( you may or many not have heard of Geoffrey Chaucer, the medieval author. It's a very old name ) If you haven't yet seen it, try VoicePlay's The Dragonborn Comes, from Skyrim. Geoff is the bass singer, vocal bass guitar, with the a capella group, VoicePlay. His solo work is not a capella, and he clones himself to cover all the parts of his arrangements. Some people have suggested that Geoff isn't in fact human. It has even been said that NASA is currently trying to discover what planet he actually comes from. But those of us in the know can assure you that he is in fact a human, with a five octave range, and a very lovely one. :)

Ah, yes, Geoff Castellucci has an AMAZING vocal range of about 4-5 octaves, but he's a natural baritone/bass with the ability to do some truly terrifying subharmonics. You know those keys all the way on the left end of an 88-key piano? Yeah, he can get down there.

Awesome reaction! Liked and subscribed! No, the low bass singer's name is Geoff, pronounced Jeff. But his three backup singers here are Goff, Jeoph, and actually Jeff. The fourth (Daryl) couldn't make it for this occasion..or maybe that was him with the other three and the real Geoff by himself in the other room, it's hard to keep track. But you can behold the Castellucci Quintuplets in all their weird glory if you check out Geoff's mind-blowing cover of Ghost Riders In the Sky. Also highly recommended are his recent beautiful cover of The Sound of Silence, Sixteen Tons, Ain't No Sunshine, Big Bad John, and Blackbird (among others.) The a capella group for which he sings bass (VoicePlay) is another rabbit hole unto itself; their covers of Hoist the Colours, Nothing Else Matters, Dream On, Oogie Boogie's Song, Warriors, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Carry On Wayward Son, Tennessee Whiskey, and oh...at least a few dozen others are absolutely not to be missed.

I believe the 3 really low notes Geoff (Jeff) hits in this song are all G1 - which is crazy low, but even crazier is that it's not close to the lowest notes he can hit. Geoff is known for his ability to generate sub-harmonic notes much lower, but I believe all of the notes in this video are done in chest or chest growl mode.

His vocal range has much broader than many bass singers, the others tend to 'crackle' in the upper range.

Just so you know all the voices you heard in this song were all Geoff's. When he does a song solo the videos that get done all have multiple Geoff's showing that he is actually singing each part. This song doesn't do justice to how amazing his range is. VoicePlay's cover of Oggie Boogie from the movie The Nightmare before Christmas shows off his range quite well. Check out both Geoff's catalog of covers and VoicePlay's as both solo and in a group he sounds amazing. If you would like more A Capella you can check out Pentatonix as well as Home Free. Both of them are amazing groups that have put out some wonderful covers as well as some originals. Then there is The Bass Gang an all bass A Capella group.

The real trick isn’t necessarily hitting the notes (naturally thick vocal chords or good extended vocal techniques) but making them sound good. Seems like there are three guys right now that most young bass singers really look up to. Geoff is one of them, also Avi Kaplan (used to sing with Pentatonix, now has his own solo channel going strong) and Tim Foust (sings with Home Free, but also has a solo channel). And there are some up-and-coming young bass singers worth checking out as well, but we’ll get to that.

It is Geoff and his clones doing this piece. You can see Dragonborn Comes Skyrim done by VoicePlay as well as the Halo theme.

Hi, from a first time viewer. Your reaction tells me you're not familiar with recent Bass singer ascendancy. So, there's Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay a capella vocal group, also does these solo videos). There's also Tim Foust (of Home Free a capella vocal band, mostly Country). And also there are Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix a capella group) and even a group of international bass singers called The Bass Gang. I think Tim started it by showing off his monster low notes on the TV show The Sing Off. Geoff and others picked up on how people loved it and now... Bass-o-rama Geoff's videos are excellent; also check out Tim Foust on Home Free's "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Hillbilly Bones".

VoicePlay - which includes Geoff - did songs from Skyrim. Search RUclips for VoicePlay Dragonborn. You are welcome. 😊
Also, VoicePlay just dropped Valhalla Calling from Assassin’s Creed. It’s Viking themed - obviously- but he hits B0, his lowest note, frequently in that one.

Geoff and a few other can get so low, they don't get picked up by regular recordings. You really have to be there live to hear how low that they can get. I forget which of them it was, but TV had to Autotune them up so the sound would play in the TV show they were o otherwise it was just a silent spot.

Geoff has at least a five octave range. He can go really low and very high. He's my favorite singer and I look forward to seeing more of him on your channel 😊

You should check out the acapella group that Geoff is in, VoicePlay. They have wonderful covers of the Halo theme song, The Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim, and an absolutely beautiful cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. There are many wonderful VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci videos.

Yes Geoff is on another level, also while he's known for his low notes he has actually got a pretty amazing range he can cover. If your a Skyrim fan then you have to cover Voiceplays the dragonborn comes, which Geoff is part of, they love to get into character and go all out on costumes, lighting and scene designs for their songs.
