I discovered your videos earlier this year while planning my Japan trip. I discovered so much by watching your videos and now I am counting down the days till my big trip! Thank you for making these videos and let's keep walking! Congrats on your 500 and greetings from Berlin!
Thanks for showing a different part of Shinjuku as well. Just in time for next trip planning, where I will be staying in Shinjuku in Autumn ;) Congratulations to the 500 👏Kanpai!
Shinjuku does get a bad rep due to Kabukicho, slightly unfairly in my book, havent had any bad experiences there and i've been to japan 4 times :) 5th now in october / november
Again, a great and informative episode. I loved to hear you order in Japanese. As someone that is learning the language, I would love to hear more such exchanges.
I will be traveling to Shinjuku from California in October 2024. Your videos are both helpful and entertaining. I enjoyed them a lot. Thank you for sharing, Rion.
Hi Rion, Wow Hokkaido Restaurant is expensive? You made them famous in your previous post🤣 Great channel. Thanks for all the info. More power to your channel.
It is always enjoyable to watch your city strolls, this time Shinjuku, although it was cloudy, in the end even started to rain, no wonder it is a rainy season, after all. As for me the loveliest parts were the Shinjuku gohen, really huge peaceful place to spend a lot of time enjoying the nature in the middle of the city, as well as the Municipal Observatory although due to the weather not so much fun. I have seen some shorts dealing with Godzila project mapping there, quite interesting, but I also 37:21 remember your old Godzila video, it was so fun to watch, too. By the way I was blessed yesterday to catch the live of the recital part by Hayato Sumino from Nippon Budokan. I was impressed both by his playing celebrating his 29th birthday as well as by the huge concert hall as such. Have you ever visited there? Hoping that you will successfully navigate the tsuyi season and find some appropriate time for your filming. Stay safe and healthy! GAOOO....
1:00 Cute penguin🐧! 3:05 Tuna with wasabi rice balls🍙😋! 5:18 In different seasons, Shinjuku Park will show different styles and features😍, when you are tired, it is a good place to sit on the park bench and rest and read a book📖😉👍. 10:06 There are a lot of gummy candy for sale here😍😋! 10:50 I have eaten this Tohato caramel corn before, it’s delicious😋😁👍! 12:49 This Donkihote in Kabukicho is indeed crowded 😮💨😄! 14:56 Hello Gozilla! ~GaÖ~😁! 17:58 🍻~kanpai~, 19:47 What a rich Kaisen-don 😋! 22:13 Thank you Rion for sharing Japan tips 🫡🤝👍👏! Thank you so much Rion, Shinjuku perfect guide by local Japanese, Introducing popular spots and local spots, luckily it didn’t rain heavily ☔️😮💨🤝!
You are right. Pokemon Go Fest, the biggest Pokemon Go event of the year just happened over the weekends. Thanks for sharing with us what is going on in Shinjuku. Congrats to 500 episodes and many more to come. 😄
Ah there was so much more to explore. 😮 Your update is so detailed and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I didn't get too far in Shinjuku because it was burning outside. 🥵 Enjoyed the Kabukicho Bulilding especially the gatchapons which I purchased a few. 😊Next time, I wanna visit when it is not so hot to enjoy a relaxing walk in Shinjuku park. ありがとう for the hard work.
Our family travelled to Japan in late 2023 - following your earlier videos, we were able to find our way to Penguin Square and enjoyed a peaceful time there watching trains and visiting the department stores (loved Hands the most!). We also liked the Starbucks in Kabukicho for peaceful breaks looking out of their big upstairs window 🙂. We stayed in Shin-Okubo in north Shinjuku which was interesting but too noisy and busy for us - next time we'll choose somewhere quieter!
west shinjuku is a little bit more expensive but it's a lot quiter, i usually book the Apa hotel west of tokyo metropolitan, they also have a sento which is super nice
Omg Rion we were visiting from Australia last week and staying at Hotel Century Southern Tower right across from Shinjuku Station until July 15. We must have *Just* missed you filming as we used the New South Gate to catch the train to Odaiba that day. So disappointed we didn’t see you to say Gao! Thank you for your videos they helped us a lot!
I like how you presented a mixture of "tourist" and "non-tourist" areas. It was cool to get a close-up view of Godzilla--even you seemed a bit excited. Of course, you weren't as excited as when you met Mickey several weeks ago. 😄
An enjoyable yummy Hokkaido seafood bowl to celebrate your 500 episodes.🍤 Kanpai!🍻 Is there any chance you could bring us to the lavender fields in Hokkaido this summertime?😊
Clean bathrooms is one of the main reasons why I love traveling Japan! Though I feel more and more stores in tourist areas are closing their bathrooms for public since Japan opened up after Covid unfortunately.
Omedetooo & itsumo arigatooo !! After 500 eps, there is still an onigiri I’ve never heard of 😆 Eating tuna wasabi 🍙 & Harbs cake 🍰 with the nightview at Penguin Square is on my bucket list ^^ Until then, rain or shine, let’s keep walking~!!
I love that you always walk around, really enjoying your journey Moment 👍🥰 I could then just copying what you did on my own travel. Thanks alot for your video 🙏
I'm looking forward to trying out your tips in a few months' time (September 24). I was already able to see the town hall in 2019, get there before 9 a.m., then no waiting time
So nice to see so many familiar places there. I stayed in Hilton Tokyo last time I was there so I am next to the Metropolitan building and saw so many of the views you showed from our room window.
I've always found your videos informative. Just would like you to consider maybe adding where the lifts are at these places of interest, as my wife is on a wheelchair & finding lifts around Japan are quite hard. So if you could add them in it would be great....
this suprice me a little bit, i find most buildings you almost have to use the lift to even get in to spots, havent been to a single station i can remember that doesnt have a lift. I'm going back this october, ill try and keep an eye for "research" purposes, but from my experience they are easily found. Tbf, not every spot do have one, that is true though. But i would say its a lot easier to find them in japan than where i live.
its cooler yes, but early / mid day it's still fairly hot i'd say, and can still be fairly humid. ill be there myself during late october into november
as a nordic i must say japanese rain rarely bothered me unless its typhoon season, thats a bit heavy. If anything i would say its a golden oppertunity to get to those places who is harder to get into, as there will be less people out, meaning less queues. That or finaly trying that one spot close to the hotell you always walk passed because you're going elsewhere :)
its quite normal at drinking spots, could almost call it cover charge, though i find it's easier to spot them now as most of them will display the price table charge / cover charge on the door / windows. I guess they are also somewhat tired of explaining what it is :)
Hi! We were there this past December 2023, it was also closed, I’ve asked workers there and they mentioned someone fell while climbing, maybe suicide. So they closed indefinitely 😢. I think they are making more improvements to the security or fencing. It was sad because we stayed at Gracery hotel for a few nights, great hotel, clean and in the heart of Shinjuku.
