What a beauty of a game. I have huge respect for them for putting so much effort and thought into the storytelling and cinematics. A lot of game designers put too much emphasis on "exciting" gameplay but this game stands out because it put its story first and did so amazingly. As someone who considers video games an art, this is honestly one of my all time favorites. FFXIII beats even actual movies at their job of being movies. I cried so many times throughout this, and I probably would again if I watched it. It's just so long. Eight and a half hours of pure storytelling... that's longer than a lot of games in their entirety.
Now, this comment I see on most videos that are 1 hour long or more. But on THIS video... This video upgrades it so, SO much because it's *8 AND A HALF HOURS.* It really adds to the joke even if it's unoriginal. tl;dr unoriginal joke upgraded a ton makes it great
This was beautifully done sir! Every bit of exposition, dialogue and small comment covered and I absolutely love how you edit in the travelling and a few encounters to help transition from not only location to location but also one plot point to the next. So many videos would just show the cinematic and cut-scenes but that little extra effort you've put in has paid off in spades here and it allowed me to follow the progression, story and journey easier. For this i wanted to give you the praise you deserve. Excellent work and thank you for allowing me to re-enjoy a game I liked when it first came out and thoroughly enjoyed experiencing again in your video. On a side note, i only ever played XIII but was always curious about the story and were it went through the rest of the XIII saga. Have you done videos as well for XIII 2 and Lightning returns? if so id love to watch them. Again great work!
+exstlunitic Thanks for the nice comment. As for your closing questions, it shouldn't be too hard to find, it's even written in the description. I also have an annotation for it and it is likely to be in the related videos too :)
Jason dp yes of the first game there is 3 games and he asked if the op made videos for this as Well which he answered yes so what is the point of your comment.
My grandma bought me this in 2010-2011 and its been one of my favorite games of all time ever since. The Art, Ost, environments, gameplay, and bosses its all perfect.
I played this 10 years ago and looking through this now it's amazing how full of life these cutscenes are. There's very few "everyone stands around while exposition is fed to them and someone says this because they have this personality." They react nonstop to what's going around them in a way that shows how they're feeling, whether you notice it or not, even if it's just Lightning at 49:06 giving Snow stinkeye for a nanosecond over his cringy speech. And coming to a better understanding of how real people have defense mechanisms to cope with life, like Snow's compulsive positive reframing, Vanille believing she has no right to be anything other than a cheerful ray of sunshine to others, and Hope stewing in his emotions but choking up when it comes to acting on them. It can be VERY annoying yes, but that's just what real people are like. A journey isn't going to change you immediately, you might go in circles a few times before you finally break free from your neuroses. The game was much more concerned with showing that gradual and nuanced process over any lore or making sure you understood the plot. So basically, if you didn't like the characters, then you weren't going to like the game, and if you didn't like the gameplay, you you probably weren't going to be invested in the characters, but you can't argue how much realistic detail was put into them.
Thank you! Oh my god it is exactly this. And if you do like the characters and delve deeper into the lore it gets even better because you understand exactly what and why these people are reacting the way they do.
Around 1:07:00 hope finally put himself together to yell at snow and blurb out the situation and then he loses it. What else can he do. He just lost his mother. Godammit. These are the 6 heroes of light. Omg this game is soo good!
Man this comment is 3 years old but you’re right, the characters feel like real people versus perfect ideals for the player’s wish fulfilment you see in games nowadays, so their sacrifice at the end feels so earned and precious after their journey.
This is EXACTLY what I love to see. I got the game ten years back and reviews claimed people HATED it, but the further I progressed, the more it hit like a bonding adventure. Dialogue lines in combat changed to be more informal, more intimate and little tidbits from Hope going "Hiyaah" to "I gotcha Light" or Snow's demeanor going from guns blazing to stalwart guardian just made this game amazing. I liked the sequels but felt XIII was a fine standalone, but, compared to the other two this one displayed a whole cast and range of emotions I never expected from and haven't seen since an "old" game. I hope 16 brings this magick back.
This was very well done. I really appreciate how you included all of the events that occurred during gameplay rather than only showing the cutscenes. It helps tell the entire story.
I like that too, although I noticed a few minor moments were missing or cut short (eg. when they all introduce themselves to each other at lake bresha). Then again this may have been done of purpose for time reasons or for better flow between cutscenes so I won't complain too much, it's a prettty amazing compilation all thigns considered. XD
I think it's something to do with certain Final Fantasy's having an impact on specific generations. Kind of like how most people often favour the first one they played. When I was a kid, my friends LOVED Final Fantasy VII but I never really got into it. When I got older, I got a demo of Final Fantasy X before they did and decided to play it first just to piss them off. And to this day, Final Fantasy X is still my all time favourite. As for Final Fantasy XIII. The graphics and combat are great. But the story and characters are kind of all over the place and are a but of a mess. But this is just my opinion. I am getting Lightning Returns as well. I can't wait either!
It's the same reason why some people like Batman and not Superman and vice versa. It's all a matter of personal taste and preference. Like for me I like XIIIs story, but the narrative and characters are all over the place. Also not a huge fan of the combat, fun but I get tired quite fast. Just finished the game after owning it for a little over 2 years (did not touch it for more than a year then went on and off for a while before plowing to the end), might get XIII-2 mainly because I played a demo and found it incredibly fun and a huge improvement gameplay-wise, story though, to me, is terrible and only gonna play it for the gameplay and to more or less complete my Final Fantasy collection. Lightning Returns looks better, will definitely pick it up if I buy and finish XIII-2.
i'm only two hours through the movie and i think it's interesting to find that sazh has learnt to not judge someone until you put yourself in their shoes. He hated the l'cie but after he became one he realised there is actually a lot more to them than monsters trying to destroy cocoon. I wish i bought this game because i think it has great characters
@@Sapphire1982 He hates the lCie because he thought they made his son one of em. And well technically they did, but it was orchestrated by the fal Cie. So in reality his "hate" was misdirected. This game is kinda convoluted so it's confusing sometimes. I know I had no idea what was going on until halfway.
Well he still HATED L'Cie, but as he told Vanille, "Old cynics like me don't believe just everything...Without a shred of proof too?". He knew it was Coccoon propaganda and wile his hatred was misdirected, gotta understand the centuries of misinformation they'd all been fed. Up to Ch. 11 with Hope saying Pulse was "Hell on Earth" to them actually going and seeing the vibrant, gorgeous environments. He hated hismelf for becoming a doomed L'Cie, hated the monsters history claimed they were, but the more they all learned and the more their Brands progressed, the more in tune they became with their Focus, their fate and their desire to go against the programming to do what they believed was Serah's will.
It's mainly linearity and lack of world travel (which got limited to single area practically) which was a thing before it, FFX was very linear and some people complained about it already but atleast at the end you could go back tot he locations
This story really has a whole new affect and meaning when watching it after playing it. There are so many details that don't seem important at the time.
Like at the start when Vanille speaks to Snow inside the pulse vestige and ask's "Who's Serah?" what she really means is "Who is Serah to you?" as she already know's who Serah is. and when snow responds with "She's a pulse le'cie" She is upset, as she has got yet another person she didn't want involved, involved.

@@skynet010 They fulfilled their destiny (focus) and are now opened up to new possibilities of the future. The first game was heavily focused on predestination and purpose, in contrast the second game's themes revolve around choice, changing and building the future you prefer Third game attempts to reconcile both of these themes by the true ending of the series
I don't know about you guys, but although the plot was confusing at times, I enjoyed the story nonetheless. There may be a lot of hate for it, but I'm going to go out and say this: FFXIII is freaking badass!
Yeah, I hated the story mainly because it wasn't making any sense. But once I finished the game, I all of a sudden fell in love with the story. The build up is long and almost not worth another playthrough, but the ending does not dissapoint.
It kind of does though, I never had trouble understanding what was going on and I have some pretty severe learning difficulties, took me like 8 years to learn everything about pet food that someone wrote on a piece of paper in one day ... just saying if I can understand it then there must be some serious mental issue to be unable to understand it.
Your right it never was, I have learning difficulties and not once did I wonder what the hell was going on, I knew 100% of what was going on the whole time. I'm really not sure what was wrong with the people who didn't understand it, but if I could understand so could they.
One of my favourite game stories ever. Yeah the game has issues, but some of those issues like a lack of NPCs are kind of necessary given the fugitive narrative. Played through this game twice and loved it.
TBH the paradox ending for this game (introduced at the beginning of ff 13-2) is so crazy. It's like, Etro you fucked up cause you felt bad and now we have to fix it, get lightning, then the world ends the way it was supposed to. Crazy
Am I the only one who had no problem following the plot the first time playing? XIII-2 and Lightning Returns were way more confusing to me. Also, thank you, Dansg08. This is my fourth or fifth watch-through since I no longer own the game. You did a fantastic job editing this all together. I really appreciate the effort.
People complained the game was too linear which idk, I didn't quite see until Chapter 13 with the huge linear corridor. 13-2 was all the fucking way over, with the artefacts and gates leading here and there, and LR was just as wild with that Majora's Mask ass time limit. I had few probs following either plot (I grew up a sci-fi dork and time travel stuff was just amazing to me), so watching the rules in every game (Fal'Cie and L'Cie, Gates/Artefacts/timeline alterations affecting the Seeress, and the Yggdrasil Tree plus Eradia timeclock against the last days before Chaos) be established and consistently broken just made them all more fun as I played on.
Bro you acting like ever ff game story isn't convulted and confusing as fuck my reading comprehension and analytical capabilities far surpass most of my peers and these games are fuckery defined 😂 so much reading btwn the lines or having to read other media to understand wtf is going on in these games, even the ff remake doesn't make sense to new players unless they played the old story AND seen advent children AND played crisis core 😂 same with 15 u had to do all this extra shit to understand the full plot😂
You did a fantastic job on this! I love how you included short tidbits of running through the gorgeous environment even though its not a cutscene. A+ work, subscribed!
Just finished playing this and gotta say it's a fantastic game, love the gameplay mechanics and story and characters and settings and music and humour everything
Thank you for having the cutscenes for this game! FFXIII was my first Final Fantasy game, and I LOVED it. The story was confusing at first, but the data log you get in the game clears up a lot of the lore. As a teenager, it all made sense to me. Boy, did I cry at the end. Also, I was blown away at the graphics in lots of the cutscenes (and still am). Seeing each individual hair move on the characters’ heads was insane for a video game at the time. It did not deserve the hate it got.
Final Fantasy XIII is one of the best games Square Enix ever made: 1- the story is amazing, really well thought, the back story, the legends, the culture of Gran Pulse and Cocoon... 2- the personality of the characters are very well constructed, they are flawed, not god like, not perfect and not childish (except Snow in some aspects), 3- The graphics are amazing, the fights are hard to win, but not too hard, the thing I liked most about the majority of the fights was that I could win then in a thousand different ways, I never got bored. 4- The world is big, and we have a lot to explore.... I spent more than 80 hours in game before I reached the final chapter. What else people want? There is nothing that will make the trolls happy I think. Regardless of the exaggerated "fanboysm" and nostalgia for games made 20 years ago, they were not "better", just different and let's keep in mind that most of the haters played those games as children so I kind of understand all the love for those old FF games but I do not understand the unwillingness of some to see the new games with new eyes... Well, their loss, not mine.
Victor Kresnek How inferior? What do you mean? I do not think that the gameplay is repetitive, how do you mean it? About the other point: -Poor written story: I think the history is quite amazing, imagine yourself living in Cocoon or Gran Pulse, I really liked how the characters discovered the story about both and the war of transgression... -Horrible voice acting - In my opinion both English and Japanese versions are awesome (If you get the Asian version, there is Japanese voice acting with English subs, I recommend) -No option for a Japanese voice option - I agree with you. This was really a bad choice fro Square Enix, they made it so just for us to buy more copies of the games I think. It really sucks -Level Caps - You mean the evolution of crystal gen? It was quite hard to reach a level I was more comfortable to go up against any (not any, Adamantoises are still unbeatable for me, sigh) -Extremely Linear: How so, the story, the gameplay?? -No towns - In gran pulse it was really hard as the population there was pratically instinct, I do think they could have explored more of Cocoon, the characters were being hunted and they could have showed more of their struggle to reach Barthandelus, in this I agree too. -Bad level design - I liked the leveling of the characters in general but I think that Square Enix could have give us the choice to level the characters to the fullest instead of only letting us do so after the end of the game...
Guess I'll start out positive. The hunts were really fun and the staggering mechanic felt strong, really strong which was awesome, juggling enemies in the air with combos was amazing, we never could do anything like that (minus Dissidia) and it was cool to interact in the fights like that. The game looks good and has some good environments some really great and some that are meh. Sadly that's all the positives I can name for it... Now for the bad... Personally it was just boring. Most of the time it was just auto-battle,auto-battle,auto-battle,auto-battle, low hp switch to medic, heal up, back to normal battle. I understand that each of the characters also had their own struggle, Sazh with his son, Hope with his mother, Snow & Light with Serah, and Fang & Vanille with pretty much everything lol, but they were just so dully acted on. The lack of interaction between the world didn't help at all, the most we got to do in the world is hunt monsters and ride an elevator. Another problem was the actual gameplay of it was just dull felt lazy, they limit you about how much you can grow. I'll compare this to ffx did something similar, in ffx you had each character placed on a path that they were meant to go down so you had a role for each character, that said in ff13 you max your roles so quickly and easily that it might as well be a joke with the limit they restrict you with, whereas in ffx they never said "Stop you can't get any stronger because we want you to have a difficult boss"... And with all the hype that they gave the game it didn't help at all when we got it. They constantly teased us with it since what 2004? And when it came out and all we got was a linear level up, linear story, and basic and dull gameplay then at that point it's lost its replayability.
Try a game similar to this is for the xbox 360. Similar in graphics, incredible cgi scenes and the fighting is awesome. Just let me know what you think of it overall.... The name is Enchanted Arms....
yeah most people don't like FFXIII but I just can't stop playing it. Lightning is one of my top 10 fav characters of all time.I really have enjoyed it since 2010 despite many saying it's not that great.
Lightning is definitely one of my favorite characters, and FFXIII-2 is the first Final Fantasy that I have ever played all the way through, and one of the only games that I actually want to get 100% in. It's just a shame with such awesome characters and great animation that they fumble the story (and dialogue) so much.
TheGrimSmile did you complete FFXIII? When I finished that game I felt quite accomplished. I am really bad when it comes to rpg/free roam games and actually completing them. I did it with FFXIII and enjoyed it. I just started to continue FFXIII-2 now and hope I can cross that off the list before Lightning Returns comes out in Feb.
TheGrimSmile i get what you mean I love the game, Lightning is one of my favorite characters in the game and it's really hard to put down ones you get into it. I only reached 90% of the game because I messed up and I cant get the treasure hunter trophy so I'm replaying the game again to get that trophy and Have a 100% completion
Idk why everyone hates hope. He did pretty well for a kid whos mother died and right after became a lcie and it wasn't even his doing. He stopped being annoying after lake bresha.
+goodgalbadgal man i fucking felt bad for the kid. he got pulled into all of this, it honestly wasn't his fault whatsoever, his mom died and became a L'cie.
The story of the original XIII was so great. All of it's nearly forgotten in XIII-2 with all this time-twisting paradoxes and mythology. It would've been better if XIII-2 was similar to XIII story-wise rather than add a completely new dimension to it.
People like you makes me smiling, wish I could like your comment more. I still don't understand the huge amount of hatred. It's my favorite after VIII. I love your Profile Picture
...this is one of the most beautiful stories to ever have been told. It restores and reinforces faith in humanity, that's how powerful it is. Square Enix.....a group of true visionaries and master storytellers.

Thanks for putting this together and a great job. At first i didnt really get this game, the battle system, where and what everything leaving me a little disoriented, so i quit and came back to it a few years later. This video helped answer my unanswered questions and, after beating the game, watching this strengthened the story and the characters a lot. I hated Vanille at the beginning and loved her by the end. Fang is my favorite all around though Lightning grew on me a lot. Great character development and story. The game play is pretty simple once your 'Libra'd' everybody, which made this game for me feel more like a story using a game to tell it. I like the characters and cutscenes of this game the most out of all FF's that i have played, but the game play falls short of 7 and 10-2 for me (ive only played 7, 10, 10-2, and 13.) Thanks again great job!

I subbed cause this video isn't even just a "movie edition" but rather even showcases the scenery at times. That's really cool. I have the game, but having this to avoid going through all the boring grinding is really nice and definitely appreciated!
Jokuasia emt If you haven't played any so far, I would understand, but especially if you played many FF games, you would think that XIII was the weakest. I would also understand if FFXIII was among the top five, but number one? It's hard to believe.
I never played this game, but what saw in this video it is amazing. Not sure why people were complaining so much about Final Fantasy XIII, but just these cut scenes are worth buying it. yah but i mean who sits through hours of this just to dislike :P... then again may be some people tried to watch it, gave up and disliked, never mind ^^..
I remember this being one of my first xbox 360 games. With the beautiful music playing in the back ground, I use to play around with the camera and enjoy watching their heads and eyes following in the opposite direction. Use to give me butterflies lol.
Thank you so much for making this! I really liked the story and the ending was so beautiful I cried... To anyone who has never played Final Fantasy or just hasn't played XIII and was attracted to it because of Lightning Returns, you MUST watch this, you will not regret it! It has much more than great graphics and music to offer.
I love this game so much, but haven’t been able to play the steam version since I don’t own a pc. I watched my dad play this as a kid, and it’s been my favorite FF game ever since! Thanks for going through the effort to compile all of this!
great job with the transitioning between cut scenes, by including the walking around.. uploaders dont always realise how much that helps with following the scenes as a movie. And not all of us who enjoy FF storylines, play the games. Thank you
I love watching final fantasy 13 because of the graphic got my attention and the characters we're really interesting, and in final fantasy I'd never saw anyone that's hungry and needed food and drink in order to survive but only Snow drinking a soda lolzz.
Sahz when he says to the kid at the start. " Are you alright? Dont worry I'm not a l'cie." And then the kid finally smiles. Just the sheer amount of lore and realism. If you know everything about the world. It is such a fantastic ride.
SUPPERJOMAN lol only this one was so heavy on cutscenes. Pretty much every other final fantasy was much better than this one and evenly distributed gameplay and story
i mean to be fair, this video is what, 8 hours long? and ff games generally tend to take around 40~ hours to complete. So I guess it's like 1/4th cutscenes :P
This is my first FF game, though I recently downloaded FF V for my phone. I have to say, I actually liked the linearity. It let the story progress quickly, without the need for level grinding (at least until Orphan). The game was made to combine an RPG battle system with the pace of a FPS game. It was ambitious, and in my opinion, worked thanks to the strong voice acting and impressive cut scenes. Would I have liked a bit more freedom to explore? Sure. But not at the expense of the tight, continuous and cohesive story (which apparently, is the issue with XIII-2). As an FF "outsider" this game was good enough to make me go back and see what the rest of franchise has to offer. Maybe you guys are right and I'll be so wowed by previous installments that my opinion on XIII will change. But to be honest, I wouldn't bet on it.
final fantay 13 is a bit linear but it's such an amazing game point blank as a person who played ff 13 years after it's initial release i can't stress enough how awesome it truly is i would recommend it to anyone who wishes to play a solid J-RPG with a great back story and very nicely done characters it's one of the best final fantasy games out there right up there with ffX
Please tell me this is a troll, you may like the story and I respect your opinion but how can you give a piece of shit like a 10/10? The gameplay is so boring, I got to chapter 11 and said screw it, I'll watch the rest on RUclips. The gameplay is so brain numbingly boring.

Have you played ffx?
My mum said i can watch one more video before bed..

So true.
That ending always leaves me with a warm feeling in my heart. God how I love this game.
XD
i don't know why people hate 13....its pretty fucking awesome can't wait for the third part to come out.
Spoony sums up the games flaws pretty well. Many of his points are actually just nitpicks, but he raises some pretty valid concerns.
Robert Sides i don't think spoony should ever pick up another final fantasy game.
For his sake, no. No he shouldn't.
i'm only two hours through the movie and i think it's interesting to find that sazh has learnt to not judge someone until you put yourself in their shoes. He hated the l'cie but after he became one he realised there is actually a lot more to them than monsters trying to destroy cocoon. I wish i bought this game because i think it has great characters
Jessie T buy it now dude
Shouldn't he have learned that like before the game since his own son became one unwillingly?
@@Sapphire1982 Sometimes we don't learn the first time around
How can someone hate this game and its story? Awesome dansg08! Thanks for this!
It's mainly linearity and lack of world travel (which got limited to single area practically) which was a thing before it, FFX was very linear and some people complained about it already but atleast at the end you could go back tot he locations
Final fantasy13 is too linear not enough exploration. Lack of new game plus.
Juvia Lockser Oooooooh it's so goood

Why not just watch it in parts? That's what it's there for :)

I don't know about you guys, but although the plot was confusing at times, I enjoyed the story nonetheless. There may be a lot of hate for it, but I'm going to go out and say this: FFXIII is freaking badass!
I agree
Yeah, I hated the story mainly because it wasn't making any sense. But once I finished the game, I all of a sudden fell in love with the story. The build up is long and almost not worth another playthrough, but the ending does not dissapoint.
Peke okay, not everyone can understand stories in games. It doesn't make them retarded.
This. THIS!! Right here, this is a piece of art.
Thanks so much.
Nice pic. Vladimir Tod is awesome.

This was hands down one of the best video games I have ever played in my entire life... Top 3, no questions..
One of my favourite game stories ever. Yeah the game has issues, but some of those issues like a lack of NPCs are kind of necessary given the fugitive narrative. Played through this game twice and loved it.
yeah, whatever!
Seph Angelo Thanks man. The insight in your comment has really bettered my day. It wasn't vapid or devoid of content in any way!
After vanille shoots down the robot in chapter nine: uh..... well that just happened
Harperlarp played it twice too...and i will play it again in a few months or years
TBH the paradox ending for this game (introduced at the beginning of ff 13-2) is so crazy.
That is probably because XIII-2 and LR are not as linear as XIII was, I think.
Believe it or not, a lot of people complained that XIII was too linear and, in their wrong opinions, boring.
@@gkgunn2997 Square listens to their fans. Play XII and then jump to this.
Apperntly 2006 JRPG fans were not ready for open world games.

After retrying it, I fell in love with this game and the story.
The character development in this game is amazing!
I love love love how much thought they put into the plot and each character. So well thought out and well-executed
No matter what someone thinks of the story, the art style and music are fantastic.
Final Fantasy XIII is one of the best games Square Enix ever made:
1- the story is amazing, really well thought, the back story, the legends, the culture of Gran Pulse and Cocoon...
2- the personality of the characters are very well constructed, they are flawed, not god like, not perfect and not childish (except Snow in some aspects),
3- The graphics are amazing, the fights are hard to win, but not too hard, the thing I liked most about the majority of the fights was that I could win then in a thousand different ways, I never got bored.
About the other point:
-Poor written story: I think the history is quite amazing, imagine yourself living in Cocoon or Gran Pulse, I really liked how the characters discovered the story about both and the war of transgression...
-Horrible voice acting - In my opinion both English and Japanese versions are awesome (If you get the Asian version, there is Japanese voice acting with English subs, I recommend)
-No option for a Japanese voice option - I agree with you. This was really a bad choice fro Square Enix, they made it so just for us to buy more copies of the games I think. It really sucks
-Level Caps - You mean the evolution of crystal gen? It was quite hard to reach a level I was more comfortable to go up against any (not any, Adamantoises are still unbeatable for me, sigh)
-Extremely Linear: How so, the story, the gameplay??
-No towns - In gran pulse it was really hard as the population there was pratically instinct, I do think they could have explored more of Cocoon, the characters were being hunted and they could have showed more of their struggle to reach Barthandelus, in this I agree too.
-Bad level design - I liked the leveling of the characters in general but I think that Square Enix could have give us the choice to level the characters to the fullest instead of only letting us do so after the end of the game...
Wolfprincess90 Exactly, we can see the evolution of the characters from the beginning until the very end. None of them was overlooked/neglected.
Wolfprincess90 Also the only Final fantasy game to get a trilogy..... Just sayin
The name is Enchanted Arms....
still one of the best final fantasy game I have ever played

Lightning is definitely one of my favorite characters, and FFXIII-2 is the first Final Fantasy that I have ever played all the way through, and one of the only games that I actually want to get 100% in. It's just a shame with such awesome characters and great animation that they fumble the story (and dialogue) so much.

The story of the original XIII was so great. All of it's nearly forgotten in XIII-2 with all this time-twisting paradoxes and mythology. It would've been better if XIII-2 was similar to XIII story-wise rather than add a completely new dimension to it.
I agree... I still thought 2 was badass tho.
Yeah the time traveling was all over the place in 13-2. Music is really good for the series though.

That was the longest video I've watched on RUclips
Same here too. It was the first long length vid that I saw. That was a beginning of a new hobby.
It's legendary.
Watch KH2's movie. It is 13 hours long.
How can this have come out 11 years ago? Uuuugh, I'm getting old.
Fantastic job putting this together. Thank you thank you!
So as fall as speed running goes (which is about 5 to 6 hours I believe) this game is way more movie than it is a game wow
far*
I love this game so much, but haven’t been able to play the steam version since I don’t own a pc. I watched my dad play this as a kid, and it’s been my favorite FF game ever since! Thanks for going through the effort to compile all of this!
im in the middle of playing this after i dropped it in 2015 when i was kinda new to rpgs and i absolutely LOVE it now. like, LOVE it
I don't care what most people say, I loved FFVIII, and this story line.
What does VIII have to do with this video?
Tom Rees they meant to say XIII but put V instead lol
MagicalGirl4 no he means he likes ff8 and this game's story line it's not rocket science
Just watched this whole video start to finish and loved ever second of it!
At 2:36:32, the video was still going but the picture froze....
laughing because the 'most replayed' part of this video is snow's shirtless scene 😭
lol
great job with the transitioning between cut scenes, by including the walking around.. uploaders dont always realise how much that helps with following the scenes as a movie. And not all of us who enjoy FF storylines, play the games.
Thank you
so fawkin worth my 8 hours gosh beautiful ending :)
Oh god, when people said final fantasy is mostly cut scenes they weren't lying
SUPPERJOMAN lol only this one was so heavy on cutscenes. Pretty much every other final fantasy was much better than this one and evenly distributed gameplay and story
The fun happens afterwards, on the other planet, not may cut scenes there.
i mean to be fair, this video is what, 8 hours long? and ff games generally tend to take around 40~ hours to complete. So I guess it's like 1/4th cutscenes :P
This is my fav of all three ff13 😄
lightning returns is my favourite of the XIIIsaga
final fantasy xiii is also my favorite of all the final fantasies
***** lol
***** Dont listen to him, he's full of shit. (also I blocked him. aint nobody got time for haters)
So confused 0-0
I remember watching this when I was younger and I never forgot it.
I suggest you play Final Fantasy 12 if you can. It'll make you think differently about 13.
In FF12, I did too much exploring and got bored of the story. Opposite extremes, huh.
Play ffx... That is a true final fantasy game... That and vii
Hunter Bish Explain what a "true final fantasy game" is? What does that mean?
It means loyal to the original ff game' I'm saying play ffx and you will understand why people are mad about this
final fantay 13 is a bit linear but it's such an amazing game point blank as a person who played ff 13 years after it's initial release i can't stress enough how awesome it truly is i would recommend it to anyone who wishes to play a solid J-RPG with a great back story and very nicely done characters it's one of the best final fantasy games out there right up there with ffX
Another great job, I loved this game too and I'm glad you made it into a movie thanks
This story is bighly engaging to me and it makes sense to me, i give this. story a 10/10 it's just that good
Please tell me this is a troll, you may like the story and I respect your opinion but how can you give a piece of shit like a 10/10? The gameplay is so boring, I got to chapter 11 and said screw it, I'll watch the rest on RUclips. The gameplay is so brain numbingly boring.
Danicx11 im not yalking about gameplay lol i ahevnt even played it, im saying story, graphics qnd characters and character developement
+Danicx11 lol so you gonna be like that man
idk i wish they put more meat into lightening at some angles she looks too skinny
ZeroFinal 145
Haha... What is this suppose to be, Final Fap XIII?
