I had a very stressful day and decided to watch Colin Farrell talk for almost 2 hours... and damn, this was almost therapeutic. He's so pleasant to listen to. Also must say that the interviewer is great. Knows her stuff, let's the actor talk and really seems to connect with him. Time well spent. I feel reinvigorated.
Lovely, lovely interview. These Q&A videos are usually quite good, but Colin Farrell is an exceptionally wonderful interviewee. His articulation and eloquence and humility and intelligence make this whole interview simply enthralling to listen to. I remember the early 2000s when he first came on screen, looking to all as if he'd take over Hollywood in short order and probably win an Oscar in a few years. That didn't come to pass, unfortunately, but his career since has been a unique and incredible journey. Beautiful human being, inside and out. Wish someone would've mentioned his heart-wrenching performance in Triage though.
It crushes me that Triage went straight to dvd. Why wasn’t it given a shot at the art houses at least? After all , the director had already won an Oscar earlier. I love this film. There is still word-of-mouth commendation for it among Farrell fans. I have it #1 in his performances.
I so greatly respect his humility and kindness. He does so much off screen, off set for others, is not overly impressed with himself or consumerism and the 'flash' of being A Star. He does his best, works hard at his craft, is remarkably self aware. Just an amazing human being. That he is also beautiful is just a plus.
He's an incredible human being. So well spoken. I became immersed in the conversation without realizing nearly two hours had passed. His sensibilities and affections are so endearing, honest, and thoughtful. He made me feel energized yet centered at the same time. He has so much to be proud of and yet he's so deeply down to earth. I appreciate so much this video being posted here. Thank you!
I love how whenever he was asked questions from the audience he was directly looking at them while answering, connecting to them, instead of looking at the interviewer which is smth a lot of actors do. So easy-going, very lovely human. The way he cracks jokes and breaks the ice with strangers is remarkable. If i have ever seen someone with great people's skills Collin is one of them
Colin Farrell is such a beautiful human being. I've watched this interview last year and had to see it again. Enjoyed the conversation so much. What an incredibly charming man with a massive vocabulary. I have been an admirer of Colin's work for a long time. This interview was fantastic & Jenelle Riley was lovely. Could have easily listened to a longer conversation.
The problem is he doesn"t understand how respected he is. Yet Hollywood should respect him more. Hes a GREAT ACTOR. i.e. Phone Booth. Near the end of the film his character has a breakdown in the movie, Farrell did that 10 minute scene in one take. Its like a legendary story. Look it up.
Colin Farrell you are like a a precious gem. You are a great Dad and one of the greatest actors in film. I'd like to see you in more movies with Brendon Gleeson. God Bless You & your family for sharing you with us.❤❤
Salt of the earth, articulated & charming. Humbled & grateful, cheerful & not saccharine or trying hard. A bit self-deprecating, but I am too. Great interviewer! Great interview! Thanks for posting!
Such a great interview! Listening to him speak is such a pleasure! He has this honesty and sweetness that isn't seen often! Thanks for posting this! Can't wait to watch the next interview!
Colin Farrell is very articulate and also very witty and funny. One of the rare talented actors that surprised me a lot. I enjoyed every minute of this almost 2-hour long video. I also suggest people to see his interview with Tavis Smiley on PBS. That was a good one, too. I am glad that he doesn't drink anymore. He is definitely much much better and enjoyable like this. I wish him the best.
I think this interview has turned me into a Colin Farrell fan. He is truly a bright light and it makes sense that he is a star. He didn't just get lucky or know the right people but he genuinely possessed the talent to deserve his mantle. He is definitely the real deal.
Not that I had any preconceived notions about Colin Farrell but I was pleasantly surprised by this conversation. Colin seems so grounded and humble, intelligent and articulate, an incredibly nice human being. This is one of a handful of these conversations that has kept me fully engaged and smiling throughout, thank you.
He is brilliant. Terribly articulate, well-spoken and with an extensive vocabulary. He’s great because of his intelligence and humility. A world apart from some other famous names we could mention....
Colin I'm glad you couldn't sing because we'd have missed out on a wonderful actor! Your work is truly fabulous, I can't wait to see what comes in your future. Thanks so much.
Amazed by every performance I watch of Colin Farrell. What a genuinely gifted actor. Very theatrical and sensitive. I remember watching Alexander with my sister many many years ago and we both shared the same perspective of how tough and sweet his performance was at the same time. Became a fan since. Brilliant chat! I wish they had talked about Triage - one of his best performances in my opinion. Laughed so hard at the "see you fuckers" and loved his impersonation of Woody Allen! I'm dying to see The Beguiled and Sacred Deer!
Such a great actor, very at ease with his feelings. He has been my role model since I've started acting 3 years ago. I truly think his best work was in Triage, check it out if you haven't yet. Thanks Colin for being so honest, a quality that you should never lose and that I am trying to carry myself being a foreign actor too in the States. All the best, I'll see you.
Colin Farrell always seem like he's still just a kid from the streets of Dublin, who happens to be paid a lot of money to pretend to be other people. He's the least Hollywood Hollywood actor I can think of, without it ever feeling pretentiously un-Hollywood. He weaves in and out of massive productions and indie movies, can play seemingly any character with ease and speaks coherently and endearingly about himself and how he perceives the world in a slightly self-deprecating way that's just enough to show character, but not so much that it tears down character. He's a perfect balance, it seems, of melancholy and genuine love for his life and his work.
I’ve loved this man since I saw tigerland. He’s truly one of my favourites in Hollywood! He’s only gotten better! Golden globe winner and just an overall heavyweight in Hollywood now! God bless this man!
Listening to Mr. Farrell, it's apparent that stream of consciousness is not limited to James Joyce among the Irish. Colin's such a bright, thoughtful lad, and appears to use circular breathing when being interviewed.
Shots are more an American thing-Irish car bomb…way to trivialize terroristic violence. Gold, lol. He really does have a soothing voice and he’s very well spoken. Enjoyed this.
Ok so i have seen this interview probably 3 times throughout the years ( I think to get my CF fixes LOL) and it is just wonderful!! Best conversation hands down. He is so expressive, witty, and humble. Just a great actor! Btw, Dead man down is one of my favorites Colin Farrell movies but I guess it didn't do great? He seem so sad with the final cut but I loved it.
I watch more of this kind of thing, than actual movies. So I have only seen him a few times on screen, and knew basically nothing about him. Now I have to say, I have a full man crush on this guy. He comes across as such a genuine person, holds himself so well, while not being arrogant in the least. Very humbled, handsome, and we'll spoken.
He is such an amazing actor, yet so down to earth, insightful and eloquent. I truly adore him, not just as an actor though. He seems like a wonderfully decent and genuine human being too. His Irish accent is adorable btw. and he`s got such a calming voice!
Met him in 2016 for ‘fantastic beasts’. What a great man! Kind and gentle. And yes, I want so badly to see ‘phone booth’ as a play. Such a great film, so many years later!
Saving Mr. Banks, just loved him in this, brought tears to my eyes. Great movie, as a reader (young) of Mary Poppins books, this movie held me spellbound, Lovely.
Visionnée en plusieurs fois, un régal, toutes les anecdotes sur les films, les rôles, partagé avec plaisir il me semble, quelqu'un de sympathique, qui ne se prend pas la tête
Farrell is a much more interesting, honest, humble person than the roles I have seen indicate(perhaps) . Very articulate for an uneducated lad. I think he would be fun to know or talk to even. Very Irish, in the best way. Alexander was off because he was made blond when he is very dark by nature. " The Way Back" was outstanding all around but he adapted well to the role. It is clear why people would be attracted to him. Great sense of humor. I hope he sticks with it, and stays away from the ego flaws that are opportune .
Great soundtrack too; some old school Yardbirds and a version of 'Stevie' by Kasabian three years before it was made, if you listen back, the intro of that song is used in the film.
Tomás Finn Jamieson Did not like the ending but the concept was good. He should play more of this type ie body guard. / romance. Too many dark violent films.
That was a fanfuckingtastic interview. Maybe it was the gift of time, (no sound bite 2min interview format) but I love how he really fleshed out his responses to the questions. Most commenters below already spoke about his charm, but damn is he funny too.
I know I'm saying this late but everything about him is perfect from head to toe and not only that he's a great dad I definitely give him credit for being a great dad and what a coincidence I was just watching a movie with him in it man down
wow quite a revelation a very articulate chap. Still think we havent seen the best of him yet, espescially considering the fact he is relativly young. The true dective series really didnt show case his tallent.
Not casting aspersions on academia, but just because you didn't become immersed in school, doesn't mean you can't read a book or two and form a good base of knowledge. It also sounds to me like he is pretty incisive and that mindset tends to seek out knowledge just to enhance their own understanding of the world.
@@IT-li3ul Saying fancy words is one thing, but what Farrell displayed here is articulation and eloquence, both are usually good indication of intellect.
Since no one has I just thought I would like to say how great the interviewer was.
Met him at the gym, and I complemented him. And I never met a more genuinely humbled man. Good people!
That's so cool!!! :)
he's one of the few actors i can actually listen to. very articulate and smart.
Yes!
And funny 🤭
Actors aren’t generally dumb.

I remember that years ago he was a good-looking but was noticed by the time he had more work behind him.....like now!
He's not only good looking but he has charisma. Every interview he gives, he connects with the host. I hope he gets recognize for his works.
exactly thats what im saying! he has charisma!! very well said

Loved him in In Bruges.
englandsensation Yes He is nice Guy
In Bruges was a great movie. Gleeson and Fiennes, too.

Outstanding interview with the immensely talented & insightful Colin Farrell.

Author Gabriel Land totally 100% agreed. seriously.
His performance in "Phone Booth" is brilliant. He should have given an Oscar for that.
That whole movie was shot in a week. He was a BEAST in that film.
His reputation has been as a bad boy playboy..But his work is stunning...Alexander..Miami Vice...Minority Report...Many I have not seen..
Its an Irish thing, we dont like to be fussed over and find it somewhat embarassing
Colin Farrell you are like a a precious gem. You are a great Dad and one of the greatest actors in film. I'd like to see you in more movies with Brendon Gleeson. God Bless You & your family for sharing you with us.❤❤

Colin Farrell is an inspirational man. Very moved by this interview entirely wonderful.
Phone Booth was an amazing movie. He really cherished that role.
4 days later from this being uploaded ... he started filming The Lobster ... his best work ahead of him
Is there a more eloquent and introspective actor than Colin? Truly amazing!
he said something like:
the older i get the more familiar i become with the pain of being human
That was a lovely lovely conversation. Very honest and present they were - both Janelle and Colin. Beautiful.

I just watched it on Netflix yesterday and thought the same thing! (Ditto on the soundtrack)

I find Mr. Farrell to be a very quick- witted and enigmatic
He is so cerebral and articulate. No wonder he is single. Most women in Hwood must bore him
