    Carter hurt his ankle in the Oregon game. That could have played a bit in negative analysis of him not playing with power or having poor stamina.

      Yea he didn’t have those issues last season. He almost played every snap on defense and he has insane power. More than any other d lineman in the draft.

      You’re spot on here, brah. If you recall, the commentators even mentioned it. You could tell during the game because he wasn’t anchoring on the bum foot in the 2nd half, and still was a wrecking ball.
      Kid reminds me of a slightly bigger Tommie Harris. Rare to find interior DL that have that burst, power and ability to get skinny. I would NOT be mad if my Bears took him #2 overall…..but I prefer to trade down with Seattle and get more picks - any takers?!?

    Good analysis. The issue you acknowledged with Carter's stamina is fairly legitimate. Georgia has fantastic depth on the defensive line. They rotate in more than an NFL team. Carter does have a nagging ankle injury, but his stamina will have to improve at the next level.

    • @rodneyhewitt2772
      @rodneyhewitt2772 Год назад +1

      His snap count has been increasing every week since getting healthy. I don't think stamina will be a factor

    • @m2karateman
      @m2karateman Год назад +1

      Per a number of sources, Carter lacks stamina due to more than a nagging injury. It is said that Carter is a 'me first' type personality who doesn't work as hard as he should. His natural athleticism and gifts have been enough for him. But that won't be the case at the next level. Unless he changes his attitude, there may be some teams that remove him from their board as a result of his personality.

    I love your analysis man, spot on! Especially with Will Anderson, I was thinking the same things myself when I saw his film. When i watched his reps, I wasn't blown away. He has the tools to be elite but will need a lot of coaching to reach his ceiling. You've earned a sub though!

    • @commexc
      @commexc Год назад

      Sorry...you are missing the boat on Anderson. When you combine his stats over last two seasons, and his impact, he is elite already at this level. 17.5 sacks last year is 4th most since stat has been kept. For a career having 200 tackles off the edge, with 50+ for loss, and 35 sacks should blow you away.

    • @JayD73
      @JayD73 Год назад

      @@commexcI think the issue is his lack of pass rush moves he’s crazy fast and has this solid hesi move that beats lineman sometimes but other than that a lot of his sacks are just him bull rushing or unblocked. I don’t know how consistently that works in the NFL but he has the athleticism part down which you can’t teach

    • @commexc
      @commexc Год назад

      @@JayD73 Think about what you are saying though. In your words he is crazy fast and bull rushes people. He uses his hands extremely well. Usually it is one of the other. He can swim, spin, and lower pad elvel. Having watched every snap of his college career I can tell you he has made every type of play there is to be made. When an edge player has more than 150 tackes and a third are for loss that means he is the backfiled most fo the time. He has games where he completely disrupts games without a sack to show for it. Yesterday was a perfect example. He didn't register a sack but he pressured the QB all game. Forced early throws. All that said the numbers don't lie. He is a two time unanimous all american. A two time Nagurski winner. He will be one of the first 3-5 players taken in draft depending on draft order. He will be an immediate impact player.

    Jalen Carter is what our D Line needs. We are getting ran all over. Poona Ford hasn’t been the answer and Al Woods can retire any year now. Then we can go after a top Center in the draft to replace Blythe, he is not the answer to our run game and potentially a guard. Would also be good to target a line backer to replace Barton and potentially another edge for depth rotation.

      No your absolutely wrong. In a 4-3 will Anderson is a defensive end. Anderson is great against the run and is still able to be great against the tackle in a 4 man front, especially in stunts which most 4-3 defenses pride themselves on. In the 3-4 he’s an edge rushing wide off the edge. He will be much better in the nfl than he was in college. Anderson was limited by Alabama’s average to poor linebacker play.

Several could be quality NFL starters but nobody worth trading draft picks it would take to move up to the top 3 or 4. I think Bryce Young will go 1st to Houston. They have another pick around 13. Chicago is currently at #2. They may not win any more games. Not a fan so I don't know what their biggest need is. They don't need a QB and I have a hard time seeing them pass on Anderson or Carter. Not sure who has the draft capital to make it worth passing on either of them. They may take an OT.

      As a Bears fan, I pray you guys dont get the 3rd pick, Lions with Carter or Anderson will be scary. This Rams Broncos Game tomorrow is huge.

      @@patricksimeri21 No doubt! Lol.. Any of those guys scare me on the Bears too! One thing about Chicago is they have crafted some HARDCORE mfn defenses over the years! I will say though, Fck Minnesota, Fck Green Bay - and I look forward to Chicago and Detroit battling it out for the division for the foreseeable future! Minnesota is fraudulent and I honestly believe Chicago is a draft away from being a being better than MN, if they draft correctly to build some defense, and more importantly, build around Fields. And Green Bay, KAron Rodgers is on his way out this year or next, pure speculation and I hope I'm right lol, but they're looking mediocre at best & they deserve to be in the basement for awhile 🙄..
      Anyway, good luck this week and we've gotba fun matchup at Ford Field next Sunday 🤟

    You did great! A lot of well thought out commentary and some great insight into both these players. Well done!

    It looks like Carter is a better fit for the Seahawks is a safer pick.

    I love the review but I feel like you’re exaggerating the size on anderson, he is 5 pounds off of being the weight for an athletic elite edge rusher, I really hope my bears draft him!

      Fr he’s literally the same size as tj watt

      depends on a teams scheme and situation but in a vacuum id say carter is the better prospect

      @@jpownfl So you highlight Carter pretty much playing lazy and being out of gas. You can add weight & get stronger and frankly there are a lot of plays where Anderson shows great bend. Sounds like Anderon flaws can be coached / developed but you cant really coach the laziness out of a player like Carter.

      If your talking overall value I’d go Anderson, if he can develop and add more techniques to his arsenal he can be an absolute menace, also edges have more value and are way way wayyy harder to find in free agency then DL

    I think you might be overstating Anderson's speed. He has great burst off of the line, but don't be surprised when he runs in the 4.5s or 4.6s.

    I think some most of your negatives on Carter might stem from the fact that he is a down lineman, his job is stop the run first and rush the QB second. Hitting the QB is mostly the edge rushers job. Not sure why there was no analysis on Carters run stopping where he is completely elite. Anderson and Carter are not comparable in terms of their play, but certainly in their effect.

    I believe the Lions will be able to get 1 of these guys. JC would fit better for our needs but I would Love to Have Will Anderson. Big Time at 6. Maybe we can move back. Not sure yet! But if they are available snatch 1 of them up.
