I think they both turn into good pros, it's kind of similar to last year's Walker v Hutchinson debate, but I'd consider Wilson slight better coming into the NFL, with Walker as a bit higher of a ceiling. Anderson really does need to add strength, but if his frame is maxed, it's going to come at the expense of some speed and he doesn't really have elite speed for the position as it is. Two different flavors for sure. As a Hawks fan, I'd be okay with either one at 5, just not Carter. I think Devon Witherspoon would also be great, although that would require some scheme alteration.
Rider Ingalls I like CB Deonte Banks and Ouentin Johnson as both had 40+ verticals and 11 ft + long jumps. Banks has fluid hips is super fast and his issues are correctable. Go the freak route got us DK and Woolen,so stick with that prioritization. Bresse, Henley, Campbell, Sewell, Johnson, Banks Would require trading up and down, but a great haul.
Wow, that’s some fantastic analysis! I’d always assumed that Anderson was a powerful player just because he looks so rocked up, but the fact that he struggles to win a bull rush is alarming. Do you think he or Jalen Carter is a better prospect?
Idk, the strength thing is over blown, notice how he only showed Darnell Wright. A top 10 pick as well. I've seen Anderson blowup double teams and get tfls, plenty of strength but Wright is a top 10 player too
Crazy to think what he can become. I like the fact Jones is one of his inspirations. He's gonna sponge it up! His ceiling is crazy high imo. Should he have a larger bag of pass rushing moves at this point? Probably, but when you are used to getting away with your power and raw ability , you may not have developed that yet. Can he? Will he? I think so. Scary what he can become, Raiders drafted him because of exactly that I feel. I think he ended up in the perfect situation and place. Gonna be fun to watch it all come together for us fans. Not so much for those he's terrorizing. I don't care for gold anyways, lol, I'm all about that Silver ☠
Seems to me that when NFL teams evaluate players at a certain position, that must also include evaluations of the coaching staff on each player’s college team.
Wilson opposite from Hutchinson and the two of them learning from each other and the Lions coaching staff is very enticing. I think there is a better than 50/50 chance he is there at #6, or The Lions move up to #3 to take Anderson (#6 and #18 for #3 and #66 seems like the "neither side can say no" deal).
@alexrollinsnfl please tell me which of the “big 3” rookie WRs in this years questionable rookie class is best of JSN, Quentin, or Addison Sincerely, 1.02 owner in a dynasty who is out on Gibbs due to size and also I need the WR longevity for my rebuilder
I haven't studied them in depth, but JSN would be my pick. Obviously landing spot can change things, so check in with me then if your draft is after the NFL one
Sooo uh thoughts on tyree wilson so far? Is he looking how you expected him too I personally think he’ll look a LOT better next year I think he’s still a little hindered by injury
If you were a DL coach and Anderson was drafted to your team, would you try and add some weight to him, or keep him at the same weight and hope those “power limitations “ don’t show up as often?
It would depend if it was a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. He has the height and weight similar to Von miller and Demarcus Ware, they both dominated at the 3-4 as an edge rusher. If he were a 4-3 defensive end, he may have to bulk up.
If a 4-3 team drafts Anderson, they gotta find ways to play him away from 5 technique and play 7 ~ 9 Technique on the weakside. Help your talent out primarily by playing to their strengths. The other nice deal with Anderson is he can drop in coverage as well.
I think he needs to be used more in the TJ Watt role where he's outside exclusively, improve his hand counters and slowly over time build his strength. If he's a speed rusher, he needs to stay fast, can't bulk him up too much
I think Anderson is marginally ahead of Thibs and Hutch, with Wilson being 4th, it's close though. Even before this video, I'm on record as saying Will Anderson is very similar to TJ Watt. Wilson's to me is a much more athletic Arik Armstead, similar notion with Walker last year, I think he has the most potential out of these 4, but Wilson is further away than Anderson, Thibs, or Hutch.
I didn't scout Kayvon in depth last year, but the pros with Hutchinson were great technique and ability to get to the pass rusher, and the worry was power, which he improved on in his rookie year
At 5:00 he does a cross chop with no chop he also wastes a lot of steps as a pass rusher with that length especially he only needs at most 2-3 by the time hes in contact he has a wasted 1st step and that wastes the 2nd one trying to recover
The Tennessee tape from Anderson is probably his worst game in his career. I don’t think it’s a particularly good representation of who he and will be as a player. The power shows up over and over throughout his college tape. No, not on every play. You can pick out isolated plays where he got muscled. But you can pick out far more plays where he did the outmuscling. Darnell Wright is a stud.
@@laurinnn fair point to an extent. But guys have bad games too. I think if we were to measure every player in the draft by their worst game it would look like a pretty bleak draft.
But people who really do this are smart enough to evaluate players individually. They can tell that Will or Tyree are whooping x player’s butt because he’s trash despite being in an Ole Miss jersey.
I went I to this video super skeptical, but your points are well drawn out, good work. Lv is the perfect spot for Tyree, should excel from the start with Maxxxxx on the other side.
I never get too excited about draft picks I believe these kids all have an opportunity of a lifetime how hard are they going to work on the craft of football 🏈
I think Anderson is more NFL ready one little detail to point out is Will has his outside leg up out of a 2pt with Wilson having his inside clearly it’s a scheme thing but if your pass rushing the outside is more beneficial and inside is more run stuffing
Will say that with both these guys being 1a and 1b for Edge rushers in the top 10, Wilson gets a bit of an advantage for versatility due to his size. Since you can line him up at 5 tech like an end or even 9 technique outside to get a head start. With Anderson I would feel better having him start away from the tackle in most match ups. People are saying Anderson could fill out but that is as MUCH a gamble as Wilson trying to learn the position and baseline techniques by the end of his first season. Safe to say both these guys' first contracts are going to very reliant on team situations and if they expect a foundational EDGE talent for their respective teams.
I do not. Have you SEEN how slow he is? He was consistently the last person moving after the snap and just used his leverage to push people back. That shit doesn’t fly in the NFL
God you must be a packer fan because a lions fan would never say this shit. Wilson is literally the same player as pascal. Wilson is one of the most overrated players I ever seen.
Before I watched this I thought will Anderson was the best edge ever. Is there a reason noone has mentioned the quality of talent Anderson played against compared to Wilson? Did wilson play Darnell Washington a 1st round pick? The big 12 is not the first place I would look for talent imo. Would love to know if wilson almost won the hiesman or led the nation in sacks or pressures the last 2 years against the highest of talent. Anderson getting stonewalled against a top 15 talent doesn't change that he's a top 5 talent. And for thr record take away qbs that always go ahead of anything else who would you place above will Anderson? Maybe jalen but that's about it. Let's just be honest with each other here..in what draft would he be outside the top 5?
Classic case of overthinking. Will Anderson looks great and Wilson looks all right when given snaps. Will Anderson is a great 7 tech edge. He will develop very similarly to how tj watt did. He might not be as good but they play similar.
He's my favorite player in the draft, I think he's generational. Obviously worried about the off the field, but strictly from his tape, he's the best player
@@AlexRollinsNFL Taking the off field aside, he takes plays off in tape. Will Anderson’s Motor is way way better than Jalen’s. And apparently, there are talks that Kirby Smart and Georgia coaches have to motivate him to take practice seriously. Then going to pro day overweight, and not finishing the preselected drills. Then add the tragedy, and other instances where he gets pulled over by police, with two videos of police cams. I can’t trust this player at all. No one in the first round, in my opinion should draft this guy. He has the talent, but does he have the mindset and heart to be committed to this game?
@@vincentbernal635 , now go watch Carter and his inferior 'motor' against the same Volunteers Anderson's getting stoned by. Anderson can have the motor with no torque, getting manhandled still occurred.
Based on this tape, I’d rather have Anderson. I value technical ability more than physical traits. To see Tyree be a one-trick pony worries me. Physical talent alone will not lead to nfl success. Anderson’s size is a risk but if you can play, you can play. If he can put on 20 and if he’s put in the right system, I feel more confident in his success.
Honestly... Tyree looks like he should put on 20 lbs and just play inside like a Chris Jones. He could absolutely bully interior guys with those long ass arms and that power.
I don’t think you can sit on Harrell and say he’s unpolished but can improve with the proper coaching and then turn around and say Will Anderson is polished but lacks strength on film. While the league only cares about sacks, WA had the most hurries of any top prospect drafted in the last 10 years. So he found a way. This year felt inconsistent for him at times, but he’s still a top 5 based off technique and motor. He’s still just 21, and while strength is a concern - the question is will he put in the work to improve that. I don’t doubt that answer is yes. Still appreciate your great breakdowns :)
We can't discount traits that happen on film, and just say that everybody will improve in the NFL. You could say that about anybody. Wilson has traits that Anderson doesn't, and Wilson's flaws are more easily coached up

Too many times immediately stands straight up and just puts his hands on him, making him out of the play.
When looking at Van Ness and Will, they commit their bodies to bull rush and actually affect the pocket.
The effort with Ade Ade compared to Van Ness and Anderson are very concerning.
Those who are saying that they’re gonna revolutionize the league are crazy. They’re both great players that I think will do very well in the league.
It's due to all these buzz words, like generational, because people either don't actually know what they mean, or when they're applicable.
@@zackhurwitz9441Right
I just think they're overrated because there aren't those top top guys this year
@@AlexRollinsNFL Fair
If Tyree ends up on a team with an elite Edge, like the Patriots' Judon, he'll be a beast
Crosby instead. Still elite.
Rider Ingalls
I like CB Deonte Banks and Ouentin Johnson as both had 40+ verticals and 11 ft + long jumps. Banks has fluid hips is super fast and his issues are correctable. Go the freak route got us DK and Woolen,so stick with that prioritization. Bresse, Henley, Campbell, Sewell, Johnson, Banks Would require trading up and down, but a great haul.
Start playing zone and Tariq Woolen regressed massively
Meh, Hutch is a better prototypical end than Anderson. And Wilson isn’t close to Walker talent wise. VanNess and Myles Murphy better comps.
you called it
Much respect for him and his attitude towards the NFL, Guy is honest and want to prove himself on the field.
I’m here after the raiders picked up Wilson! Haha
Considering they will both be classed as "plug n play" players, it will be interesting to see how they go up against more established NFL tackles.
Very helpful video! Good job.
Thanks Tom
Wow, that’s some fantastic analysis! I’d always assumed that Anderson was a powerful player just because he looks so rocked up, but the fact that he struggles to win a bull rush is alarming. Do you think he or Jalen Carter is a better prospect?
If you take out the off the field stuff, Carter’s the better prospect.
Jalen Carter for now ...
Jalen Carter a million times out of a million. One of his games has a better highlight reel than Wilson or Anderson's entire career
Idk, the strength thing is over blown, notice how he only showed Darnell Wright. A top 10 pick as well. I've seen Anderson blowup double teams and get tfls, plenty of strength but Wright is a top 10 player too
@@svenjorgensenn8418 which is exactly the type of guy he’ll face in the league

Thank you Brikvah!
Great video really great insight
Thanks Christopher!
I don't care for gold anyways,lol, I'm all about that Silver ☠
So basically Tyree is strong AF and Anderson has the speed and technique.
anderson lacks the size and power plus he benefited from a lot of alabama’s schemes being designed to give him 1 on 1s
Seems to me that when NFL teams evaluate players at a certain position, that must also include evaluations of the coaching staff on each player’s college team.
Grandy Candlestick
Hard to evaluate staff when it's all about recruiting classes.
Thank god my team don’t have to draft D Line that high this year (not that they have a first anyway cause of that trade😐)
It would be a W for us if we got either one cuz of our Dline coach is a master at developing players😅
@@Jj-tr7ye Just imagine someone like Jalen Carter being drafted to the 49ers
Jalen Carter on the 49ers front 😱
Wilson opposite from Hutchinson and the two of them learning from each other and the Lions coaching staff is very enticing. I think there is a better than 50/50 chance he is there at #6, or The Lions move up to #3 to take Anderson (#6 and #18 for #3 and #66 seems like the "neither side can say no" deal).
Did not age will Texans up lol 😭🙏🏽
I would love to see one of these videos covering Myles Murphy. I can't seem to get my hands on any good tape of Clemson games, just highlights.
Myles Murphy benefited mostly from the DT coming up the middle from the highlights I watched. I never see film of him winning one on one.

@alexrollinsnfl please tell me which of the “big 3” rookie WRs in this years questionable rookie class is best of JSN, Quentin, or Addison
Sincerely, 1.02 owner in a dynasty who is out on Gibbs due to size and also I need the WR longevity for my rebuilder
I loved how Texas freshman, Kelvin Banks, nullified Anderson 90% of the game. You should have shown those clips.
He got sonned 2 years in a row by A&M’s Reuben fatheree too. Both are tall and long tackles, which play directly into Andersons weakness.
I only had access to a handful of games, and that wasn't one of them

@@AlexRollinsNFLyou gonna make a video on how it played out their rookie years?? Or??
If he's a speed rusher, he needs to stay fast, can't bulk him up too much
Will Anderson Jr already has 7.0 sacks this year
@alexrollinsnfl how do both of these guys compare to Kayvon Thibodeaux or Hutchinson?
Darnell Wright is a stud.
but Wright is exactly the quality of tackle that he is gonna face in the league, so shouldn't you weigh that more?
@@laurinnn fair point to an extent. But guys have bad games too. I think if we were to measure every player in the draft by their worst game it would look like a pretty bleak draft.
Darnell is a stud without a doubt, I'm surprised he hasn't gotten more love
The problem with Anderson is the SEC is so over hyped because of alabama. When you're on alabama, it's basically nba Allstars vs d1 college teams.
But people who really do this are smart enough to evaluate players individually. They can tell that Will or Tyree are whooping x player’s butt because he’s trash despite being in an Ole Miss jersey.
🤡
Like how he took care of his knees and ankles in that first rep
I went I to this video super skeptical, but your points are well drawn out, good work. Lv is the perfect spot for Tyree, should excel from the start with Maxxxxx on the other side.

Thanks Cee Bee!
To sum it up,
Wilson - average pass rusher, elite against the run
WA3 - elite pass rusher, average against the run?
Not even close. He literally sums it up at the end
Anderson is currently playing at 260 pounds. He disclosed this to John McClain in an interview a few weeks ago
Awesome breakdown
Thank you Frank!!
Never thought about this. Amazing breakdown 🔥
Thanks Brandon
Both of them better develop a spin move like Dwight Freeney.
One person's mock draft that wouldn't be a mockery. Thanks Alex for your in depth analogy 👍
lol same guy that says Herbert will be a bust and devonta will struggle 😂😂😂
Appreciate that Jubei
Will Anderson has no business playing inside
I pray Wilson drops to the Lions at 6 🙏
Whenever I think I know a decent amount about football, I watch a video like this and realize I don’t really know anything 😂 😅
Ask any questions you want Cory! I got you brother, I'm always learning too tbh
Wilson had no help at all so id say it goes both ways a bit .. just thinking out loud here??
Classic case of overthinking. Will Anderson looks great and Wilson looks all right when given snaps. Will Anderson is a great 7 tech edge. He will develop very similarly to how tj watt did. He might not be as good but they play similar.
Tyree will flourish on the Raiders
He rlly won’t 😂

Who do you think is the best edge rusher in the draft?
Wilson
I just wouldn't take him top 5
Would be interested on your take of Jalen Carter
My issue is that I don't see that technical ability, at least to the level to offset everything else. That Tennessee tape really worries me
Interesting perspective.
If companies are raking in record profits due to price increases, it's not inflation it's price gouging.
Guess I'm responding to the ad spot today
Wilson has traits that Anderson doesn't, and Wilson's flaws are more easily coached up
This ceiling for floor debate has happened since Peyton vs Ryan Leaf.
Sometimes it is better to get the clear cut better guy.
Other times you get the higher potential guy and hope they become what you project them to be.
Travon Walker vs Aidan Hutchinson
