It’s scary tho when Young doesnt use the correct move and STILL can get around the tackle and sack the QB. Just imagine what he’ll do when he puts it all together 😳
Can't agree anymore, I said the same thing, they're saying he didn't do the right thing, but he still sacked the quarterback. The clip before that one he was bragging about Bosa, but he didn't sack no one, and the pass was completed. Nonsense. Complaining bias.
There are tons of players that only need to use certain techniques. There is a reason that most are not able to quite get there... it’s because it’s easier said than done. If you haven’t played football, all these simple suggestions look obvious and easy.
Elia Daniel Well even the very best pass rushers don’t get there every time. If you average a sack a game you’re probably on your way to an All-Pro season (there’s a little more to it). A big part of being an edge rusher is pressure in general. A guy like Chase, or Nick, helps their team by forcing the QB to throw the ball before he really wants to. The ball comes out so fast that they can’t possibly get home every time. Another big part is setting the tackles up. You’ll probably notice with any edge rusher that they seem to almost disappear for stretches of the game. They’re still setting the edge, still getting some pressure, but not getting real close to sacks. They all talk about this. They’re trying to lull the tackle into a false sense of security. Think that the edge rusher only has one or two moves. Then on a big third down they start the same, the tackle reacts the same, but the edge rusher pulls out a new move and gets home.
@@treygregory7929 In general I agree with you. But I was commenting about the two videos that they based their analysis on, it didn't make sense at all.
I agree, that night I was telling everyone in my family that I was blaming the refs, because I was the only one in my family that was rooting for the 49ers, and they told me I was a sore loser. Super Bowl 55 here we come.
@Andy Gygi Imagine Chase Young trying to get through niners oline? Nick Bosa gets through anything, In the NFL. Everyone will see Chase Young play sooner or later.
They are coachable, but forcing a player who is so gifted to read tackles instead of relying on physical gifts may be harder than you think depending on the player.
Plays with much more power and technique than Young. I think Chase Young needs to get stronger if he's ever gonna be a dominant player. Against top tackles speed won't be enough
Thanks for this video as a 49er fan this made me appreciate just how wonderful Nick's rookie year really was I mean seriously Rams & So many teams held him rushed him it amazes me this breakdown just how incredible he really is
He was absolutely incredible. I prefer great technique over great athleticism (obviously Nick is still an incredible athlete) but that meticulous technique will insure that he is super consistent barring any sort of unfortunate injury.
I imagine it must have been very tempting to mention that Eric Fisher relied on holding Bosa during the Super Bowl because he was no match for Bosa otherwise. It ended up being as effective as lassoing a bull.
Literally every offensive lineman holds every play they coach holding on the offensive line you just gotta know how to do it. As a defensive lineman you can’t complain about holding you just gotta go win.
@@zayontoppp98 Thats bull, I'm not disagreeing with the fact that OL hold all the time and it is okay as long as you do it inside the pads but the superbowl was a complete shitttstorm by the refs not doing their job at all. They basically allowed the OL to hold beyond the rules and gave a clear and massive advantage to the offense. If the refs had at least called 2 blatant holds to at least pretend like they were enforcing the rules, the OL would have been thinking more about not holding beyond a reasonable point. They didn't and the OL was basically mugging the DL.
@@colekennedy-gooch6861 I'm not saying that it doesn't happen in every game pretty often but to say that the OL of the chiefs was not blatantly holding on almost every play is beyond the realm of reality. They were past the normal amount of holds that generally happens and aren't called in a game. It was lopsided though and made it impossible for the defense to play a fair game. The refs are responsible for calling a decent game and they failed on all points. You know one of the refs was one of the same refs from the Saints Rams game the year before where the DB should have been called for PI right....
Once again, excellent analysis. I learn a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of specific players. Since you are 49ers oriented, what do you think about their picks? Think both Bosa brothers playing for the Niners is a possibility?
Tyrone J Taylor The Chargers would sooner franchise him than let him walk. Plus Joey said he wants to stay with the Chargers so even though it would be sweet I don’t think he’ll be a Niner.
This Video Made me realize Chase Young is more elite than previously stated. You are trying to nitpick plays in which he still was able to impact the play in sacks and hits the QB, where as Bosa merely ran out of his rush lanes giving Mahomes room to run for the first down and throw one to Kelce unaffected. If the Opposition can’t stop it, continue on until they do.
BoomDeAhDa well he’ll likely adjust when necessary. He did what was necessary against the opponents he’s faced. So if it ain’t broke don’t fix. I agree with David Ash, the guy in the video is complaining about Chase’s lack of using certain moves in plays where he either gained a sack or caused a hurry and busted the offenses play.
@@Candlesmoke2 I don't think Alex is necessary complaining about it, its more of a constructive critique. He even addresses that young has those moves in his arsonal already he just needs to demonstrate more fluid decision making in the big leagues instead of using pre-set moves.
BoomDeAhDa The point his he is a Generational talent whose game his so tight you literally have to make up stuff to critique him on, and when doing so you show it ultimately doesn’t matter because he STILL can’t be stopped because that’s what great players do, despite everyone knowing what to expect from them they still IMPOSE THEIR WILL upon competition. I chose when to throw my change up mr know it all scout in the stands, until then, enjoy the fastball.
You hit it right on the nose Nick said the same thing he said Chase needs to use more than just speed because the Tackles in the NFL are very athletic he said every week your going up against a beast on the o-line but the good thing is that he said Chase has those moves and the ability to do them. Chase is not going to be a 1 trick pony he's not going to sit on a swipe move for the rest of his life and never develop anything else. Like Nick said once he gets in the league their going to make him put more emphasis on other techniques when he starts using everything he has and gets good at it I think he's going to be the D end that he's expected to be
Agreed. Young definitely has the moves, and that was in the video. The game needs to slow down for him, and it's tough when he's moving that fast. It's not that he doesn't have power, just doesn't use it enough, as Bosa said.
It's not easy to "teach" power. I don't care how long they spend in the weight room. Not everybody has the ability to bull rush. That being said, Derrick Thomas didn't have much bull rush either. He was a small, edge guy and was one of the best pass rushers to ever play.
This is not true. LT was incredibly technically sound. He could speed rush, power rush, or drop into coverage all at an elite level. Also, part of what made LT so legendary was that he often knew what the offense was going to do even better than the defensive coordinator himself, and he would often do things like rush the passer when he was asked to drop into coverage and vice versa.
Idont think young has that killa mentality like lt.i often notice he gives up on plays. Not a high motor. Wont see him run down field and catch someone from behind. If the play not infront him he wont be in it
Looking back after witnessing the level at which Bosa has performed this season, it is almost absurd to think that there were actually questions about his athleticism going into last year's draft..
Yeah, it's so easy to look back and question those scouting reports after we've seen what we've seen. In an article, he said his get off needs to be perfect whereas for Young it's much more instinctual, that's the kind of thing scouts worry about. But Bosa has a lot of perfect get offs, so it works
Chase young will already be one of the best run defenders in the nfl like Clowney but he needs to work on his counter moves and finesse moves to become a elite pass rusher. Ceiling is Myles Garrett, and Khalil Mack. Floor is Jadeveon Clowney. Very high floor.
@@AM-hb5to he may end up being better than those guys, but this guys opinion is spot on in my book. Just because you are a fan of a certain team, doesn't mean you cant be objective. And it's not like he is just saying it without any proof. He's providing examples of what he means.
@@49er4life9 good point but he's still biased and its quite obvious. Other spectators/evaluators have all said chase young has more talent than even myles garrett, therefore more potential, therefore higher ceiling. I'm not an expert, but I'd rather believe unbiased opinions that all correlate, rather than one that's pulling strings. The bosas weren't exactly the best prospects coming out of college, but did translate well in the NFL, I'll give them that. But as of now, I'd take my chances with young over either bosa brothers
A M Nick Bosa is the most polished pass rusher we’ve ever seen. Chase young is a great can’t miss prospect. But not a polished pass rusher. Right now he’s probably a low end number one. He has to develop counter moves and a little bit of finesse. He won’t be able to just power through everyone like he did in college. Bosa and young are completely different. Young is more athletic with a freaky get off and explosiveness, but isn’t a finished product. Bosa is the opposite.
Isaiah Ling Hall of Famer, 11 time pro bowl, 8 time first team all pro, 2 time NFL DPOY, 200 career sacks, and 1,225 career tackles. The last player he helped coach is Von Miller, who BTW Is a future hall of famer. So yeah, I’d say he’s pretty good.
They have another one on the roster that is also a freak. Forgot his name but you gonna hear about him this year. And they are recruiting like 3 more in the 2021 class. They just growing these dudes in labs at this point lol
Mitchell it’s because he’s expecting a 20 something year old(I think) college player to have perfect nfl form and technique. He’s been more physically imposing then just ab every college player other then Orlando pace way back when. Young is gonna way more rounded. He just wants a topic to show his “football iq” during quarantine. Everyone’s got opinions. His statement was pretty dumb tho
I think it was fair. He said Young has a higher ceiling but also a lower floor than Bosa. Elite prospects are “can’t miss” future All-Pro players, and if Young doesn’t improve his techniques, he could end up a pass rush specialist. Not a bad thing but certainly not “elite” as one would expect for the best overall talent in the draft.
@@mamilx6607 respectfully, there is no way Chase Young won't improve, and even if he didn't he would still be a double diget sacked year in and year out. Ive watched every ohio state game for the past 7 years, Chase Young is better than both the Bosa's.
I remember years ago when he was head coaching highschool ball in Maryland. McDonough was one of the nations top football schools those years which sucked because my school was in the same county.
6:33 Come on, man! Really? You're gonna explain how Eric Fisher held off Bosa on this play with the proper technique? Yes, Fisher starts off fine but then Bosa beats him to the outside and forces Fisher to come up under the right side of Bosa's shoulder pad, hold onto it, and drive Bosa farther to the outside. The only way this isn't a sack is because of the missed hold...something K.C. got away with on multiple plays. K.C. was the MOST flagged offensive line in the NFL last season and they didn't get called once for this the ENTIRE game.
@ 11:03 penn state is in max protection with the HB waiting for the inside bill rush. The outside move was appropriate. Also the defensive play call may also dictate the type of leverage
As a redskins fan watching this I am so excited to see what Jack del Rio’s coaching will do to chase young. One of the elite defensive minded coaches in the league with a great d line to work with in Washington
I think the Redskins could be this year's 49ers with that defensive line. Not superbowl good, but I think building through the DLine is one of the most efficient ways to rebuild a team
Thanks Shane. It's probable since we already know how good Bosa is and he's established, but man CY has crazy potential. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he was better than Bosa
Thank you very much! Yes, I want to do a Khalil Mack episode some point this offseason, figure out why he wasn't as productive this offseason. Maybe Von Miller too.
This is the best analysis, I've seen on RUclips, it's clear you know football unlike a lot of other's. Great video! But I do think Young will overcome his issues with the Skins playing with Ryan Kerrigan, Kerrigan helped Montez Sweat so much last season and if the season was longer Sweat could have been close to defensive rook of the year
Thanks GJJ, appreciate that man! I totally agree, I wasn't trying to say he wouldn't get better/ couldn't fix it, just that there are a few holes in his game when everyone thinks he's 100% perfect
Thanks Leo. Yeah it was tough, cause I wanted to convey he's really, really good, but that there's still room for improvement. I didn't want people to think I was saying he's bad, if he improves in the areas I outlined, he'll be ridiculous
Do you know how terrifying it is to imagine this dude putting it all together as a Cowboys fan ? And having Rivera there to help coach him up makes it that much more likely. Smh
Their line is insane as well. I feel like a guy like Chase might have been a bit wasted somewhere else, but he has the potential to be absolutely ridiculous with the rest of that crew.
@@AlexRollinsNFL The interior DL is ridiculous, I'm still not sold on Sweat personally but the potential is there. I think one thing being overlooked in all this is Kerrigan being there to contribute as a rusher, but also help coach up Chase's technique. If he can pass on some of that 10 year savy to Sweat and Young Washington will be real scary on defense. If Haskins can develop as well, the NFC East might make a comeback.
@@ZabStrip I don't think Montez is bad. I think he is a solid number 2 edge guy. But, he only had 27 pressures and 14 hurries on around 750 snaps. I am just not convinced he will ever be an elite edge. He could be and having good coaching will help the odds though.
Thanks Vaughn, oh I'm sure he's very much aware of it. It's not that he doesn't know, just something that's very difficult to master. Hope he puts it all together!
Thank you very much OH! I believe he knows the techniques, it's all about implying them in split second situations. Much easier said than done, but I think he''ll put it all together
Joey Bosa is a free agent after 2020 season. He already said he wants to play with Nick. Bosa brothers unite in 2021 with the Niners!!! Imagine that pass rush!!!
@@samrosendahl392 Because of Ford's contract, I am all for letting him go. But not until we have another big time pass rusher. The second pass rusher is key to unlocking this defense. Look at the Niners defensive stats with Ford on/off the field. Its staggering and frightening.
Chase Young 1.Is a freak athlete 2.He actually has a good skill set just abused the swim move alot 3.when he used his other moves he completely wrecked games
Great breakdown Alex... But one play I would like to see of Bosa versus Fischer is the first play of the 4th Quarter from the endzone cam.. If you have it.. Looks like a tripping call on Fischer.. The play looks like a sack or even better a strip sack if not for a trip especially after a break in the action... Bosa doesnt just fall down I say..
Reminds me a little of LaVar Arrington. Elite physical tools, but only had one move - speed rush around the edge. NFL-caliber left tackles would just ride him upfield about 20 yards past the QB.
I remember many years ago how Mu Tigers defense line was kicking lineman out to the draft for 1-2 rounds consistently so much props for Ohio State doing it now
mickee06 I said that all in another comment I’m aware of them but Payne and ionnidis are our best interior linemen, Payne gets doubled already so w young if they try to double young it’s gonna create chaos.. young came to a team best fit for him so this dudes a dumb ass.. sweat still had 7-8 sacks last year and he was in coverage half the time .. imagine him in the 4-3 scheme w an actual good d coordinator and all the other talent around him
I guess we'll see. I think it'll be one of the best D lines in the league, probably as ridiculously good as Dolphins' secondary, especially if Montez Sweat can take a step up this year.
Yeah, it's definitely there, it's not like he doesn't have the move. But having a move and implementing it properly are two different things, I hope he puts it all together!
The crazy thing is is that he should have had even more sacks. (But then QB threw it away) We was consistently double teamed and still dominated. Young will be a future all pro and I could possibly see a HOF career from him barring any freak accident
and this is why next level coaching is key. He'll be shown all of this on tape during the offseason. I have rarely seen an elite college prospect come out completely ready for the pros, at any position. Moss is really the only player Ive seen be nfl ready out of the box day 1 Dominant.
Young knows the issues outlined in the video better than anyone, it won't be a surprise or necessary for him to watch more film. It's about implementing the moves in the heat of the moment. More hand work, practice and repetition
Great treatise on pass rushing! You can see physical freaks get drafted high and not produce every single year - too enamored of their speed and bend, so they get arc'd out of the play. You've given us a very clear explanation why the speed rushers need to have a bull rush, and the mental presence to know when to deploy it. This reminds me of a boxing video (in a very good way!)
Excellent video, great explanation. I'm a skins fan and I hope chase watches this video. Unlike some of the previous comments I think you hit the nail on the head. This is the type of criticism that can only help. Hats off to you
You can’t compare bosa in the nfl vs chase in college because they have two different coaches last year and many NFL people have consistently said how young was more dominate than the bosa brothers in college. Also not even nfl players get pressure or sacks on every play
I think Rivera coaching staff is able to teach and enhance Chase Young brain process to make proper adjustments and counters consistently during his time on Redskins. Sometimes they just want to rely on their supreme athleticism, and using proper techniques to counter in game is too much for the players to process.
All the people talking about how his biggest worry is playing for Washington are ignoring the fact the redskins now have both a defensive focused head coach and an amazing front seven. Yeah, the offense sucks ass and he’s not gonna be winning any championships any time soon, but there are worse places for young to be.
Also, Jack Del Rio coached a guy named Julius Peppers. So Rivera with Del Rio +Young...Sweat, Kerrigan, Allen, Payne, Ioannidis, etc. I expect great things on that side of the ball.
Good analysis, and one I agree with. If a guy is the second coming, he needs to be a polished AND athletic monster, ala Aaron Donald. He had that crazy athleticism at Pitt, AND the moves to go with it.. I don't see that polish from Young (yet). The confusing thing is, Young had no issue bullying guys and holding his ground in the run game. He would not let tackles move him, he would sink his hips and bury his head into the tackle's chest and made a bunch of stops for loss or no gain in the run game, even vs double teams. Hopefully JDR can coach him in some hand usage for season 2.
@AlexRollinsNFL How did you feel about how the niners skipped on lamb and jeudy and went with Kinlaw to replace Buckner. Also, how did you feel about them giving up so much to go up 6 spots to take “their number one receiver on their list” in the ASU receiver Aiyuk?
I was jumping out of my chair when Jerry Jeudy was sitting there at 13. I'll probably do a Kinlaw episode in a few weeks, so I'll see if he's legit. Was very surprised they ranked Aiyuk #1
Hands down? Lol Bosa has the best D line coach in the League and will only improve on the Niners. Young has the misfortune of playing for the Redskins.
Austin York misfortune? He has Bruce Smith Jack Del Rio and Ron Rivera not to mention one of the best dlines in the league this is the best possible situation for him tbh
This is good analysis, but you should compare bosa at OSU before his injury to chase young. After being in the pros, bosa's game improved a lot from his OSU time due to improved competition. Bosa Young may do the same. Bosa's pr moves centered more on hand work and counter, while young relied more often on winning with his 1st move. Comparing them at the same stage in development would be interesting and probably more accurrate
Great point Tom. It was definitely something I thought about, I wanted to show what polished technique looked like at a more developed stage. But, to be more fair, it would have made sense to compare them both at Ohio State. Thanks for the comment
Alex; Really impressed with Your commentary! ? tho; How do You forsee Young progressing under Rivera’s/Del Rio's tutelage, now that He’s with the Redskins!?
Thanks J Mike, appreciate that bro. I think he's going to be great, I don't think a veteran staff like that will force him to do something he isn't accustomed to/hasn't already been learning.
Good analysis. But I'm pretty sure the defensive minded coaches Del Rio and Rivera will be able to coach him up and address these issues. In fact there arent many better situations for him I think the redskins new coaches will be great for him
Thanks Devin. Yes, I agree, it wasn't really doubting that he could take those next steps, rather that he wasn't currently at the peak of his powers. Excited to watch him with the Skins
@@AlexRollinsNFL Totally! Yea They have another guy who relies on his freak speed too montez sweat who needs more develop than Young though. If they coach those two up with more technique plus all the alabama alums on the D, washington will be top 10 this year.
Skins fan here. I love that we took Young, but I have a thought here. The guy LOVES making plays in the backfield. Bull-rushing could result in a pocket collapse but not necessarily a play he makes by himself. I think it's something he'll learn to improve on in the NFL because he'll have a great new D Coordinator and will be with one of the most talented line in the league. He'll come around on that. I think he's going to become a more complete player in the NFL due to the players around him and the new coach he'll have.
NFL game pass.com has all the nfl film, and right now it's free which is crazy. It's usually 100 bucks a year. College is hard to find, there's no service where you can buy it. I offer my college film library to my patreon subscribers
Not concerned with his decision making, he’ll learn and be coached up fast. When you’re as physically gifted as someone like Young, typically the only thing stopping you from getting to the QB is yourself.
I'm a die hard Buckeyes supporter, but I do agree that he's quite raw on his technique. However, that just makes him THAT MUCH SCARIER. He's Jadeveon Clowney with a work ethic and willingness to learn, you could see that from his jump from 2018 when Nick Bosa was injured to 2019 when he was the best player in America. People forget, he wasn't the highest rated defensive linemen recruit in 2017, but he sure as Hell was the best. That 2017 OSU recruiting team could go down as one of the best ever, Chase Young, Jeff Okudah, Shaun Wade, J.K. Dobbins, Wyatt Davis, Baron Browning. It was a stacked group of talen
You could see this issue between the two games he played against Wisconsin. Young dominated the first game, but in the Big 10 ship, when Wisconsin had seen him, they really limited his production. I think he’ll be good, not great because teams will be able to adjust to his tendencies fairly quickly. He’ll probably have a good rookie year, but not much else.
I really enjoyed the analysis of Chase. I wanted to know how he was doing it. I just see him blowing up plays under a second and a half all the time. I can imagine him wanting to bull rush when he is so quick getting off an OT so fast. Washington (although a sorry team) has a good DL that will press him. I think that he is super athletic and has enough NFL skills as a rookie.
What do you think about the competition that Chase faced last year? Weird enough I don't see that excuse brought up a lot like his last 3 games. Do you think his numbers were inflated? I doubt most of the tackles he faced are going in the first few rounds, let alone drafted... I'm a skins fan and i'm very happy that he was picked by them but I just hope he's not fools gold.
He's definitely not fools gold, he is amazing, I wouldn't be worried about that. But, like I said in the video, he won't be fooling NFL tackles in the same manner. HIs speed rushes were too fast for the college tackles even if they knew they were coming, but it won't work like that in the NFL. Still has a very high floor though
As a Skins fan I like and understand what you are saying and I am hoping Jack Del Rio will do a great job on coaching up these issues in his game and making him just as if not more dominant than Bosa!

All of his problems are coachable
Exactly! Like He's Had NFL Coaching Before Lol
Kerrigan’s influence is going to be huge for his development
@Andy Gygi NFL is higher competition than college ball , using his college film would only show him being better 😂
Your analysis always amazes me! Just great in depth info! You should be a scout for an NFL team.
Thanks Dion, however they can't afford me
6:55 Bosa has good speed for his size (9.37/10 Relative Athletic Score), but man he's a fucking powerful dude.
@Ignacio Chavez just ridiculous man
Plays with much more power and technique than Young.
You could literally find an egregious hold on just about any olay in the nfl. It just matters if the refs see it or not
@@colekennedy-gooch6861 I'm not saying that it doesn't happen in every game pretty often but to say that the OL of the chiefs was not blatantly holding on almost every play is beyond the realm of reality.
Rudy Sal 14 meh, if you put yourself in a position to let the refs decide the game, you deserve to lose far as I’m concerned
Once again, excellent analysis. I learn a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of specific players.
Since you are 49ers oriented, what do you think about their picks? Think both Bosa brothers playing for the Niners is a possibility?
That'd be awesome, but I cant see Chargers letting Joey go.
@@rodrellgreen167 He will be a free agent in 2021.
@@roniram again, I can't see them letting him go.
I would rather have a speed rusher like Dee Ford to set levels to the pass rush but thats just my opinion
If the Opposition can’t stop it, continue on until they do.
i think the point is that young can get away with it in collegue but the nfl he won't be able to consistently since the competition will be greater
David Assh you are incorrect, you ban clearly see chase not taking advantage of the tackles giving the inside power Rush away .
@@dialecticalmonist3405 He does have a bull rush though. He just isn't using it as a reactionary weapon. Several of his sacks come on bull rushes
Dee Ford is an exceptional speed rusher who excels at the highest level when healthy?
Young gotten compared to LT. From what I REMEMBER LT wasn't technical either. Just a monster with attitude.
LT was pretty freaking good ;-)
This is not true.
LT was very technical and extremely calculating
LT was very technical and had unbelievable football sense
Idont think young has that killa mentality like lt.i often notice he gives up on plays. Not a high motor. Wont see him run down field and catch someone from behind. If the play not infront him he wont be in it
Namo Enright what in the world do mean by “after thought”
And today in the nfl they play TOGETHER ON THE SAME TEAM!!!!!!!!!
Higher ceiling than Both those guys. Dont let this guys biased opinion change that. He's an obvious niner fan
Stick to basketball bud. Ur literally so wrong
Y’all forgetting, Bruce Smith boutta be coaching Chase Young up. He’s gonna he a monster
Namo Enright Huh. What’s ur team
Bruce smith is not good lmao
Isaiah Ling Hall of Famer, 11 time pro bowl, 8 time first team all pro, 2 time NFL DPOY, 200 career sacks, and 1,225 career tackles. The last player he helped coach is Von Miller, who BTW Is a future hall of famer. So yeah, I’d say he’s pretty good.

They have another one on the roster that is also a freak. Forgot his name but you gonna hear about him this year. And they are recruiting like 3 more in the 2021 class. They just growing these dudes in labs at this point lol

@@hoosierdaddy2176 And still no national championship. Hmmmm
this man said: "I have trouble grading him as an elite prospect." WHAT???
I kinda threw up in my mouth when I heard that
Mitchell it’s because he’s expecting a 20 something year old(I think) college player to have perfect nfl form and technique.
@@MOSUBengals Lol horrible take.
How has no NFL team given Larry Johnson a dump truck full of money? He has been the best DL coach in the NCAA for 2 decades
Especially after both Bosas and now Young. He had Tamba Hali as well at Penn State and probably a few others I'm forgetting
I remember years ago when he was head coaching highschool ball in Maryland. McDonough was one of the nations top football schools those years which sucked because my school was in the same county.
Very very good analysis.... Impressive!!!you are very good at explain the rush nuisances to common fan ...again Impressive!
Thanks G, keep it Fatty brother
I really like how @AlexRollinsNFL gives a heart to mostly everyone! Nice vid!
Ask and you shall receive. Thanks Ryan!
Can you do an analysis on K'Lavon Chaisson and his fit with the Jaguars?
Hate that imma have to see this guy twice a year 😭 he’s such a monster
Now they playing together again. Let’s gooo!!!!
I love how you teach us so deeply and show us alot of plays. Love it!!! Keep going bro
That means a lot man, thank you. Glad you like it
This was an amazing breakdown, thanks Alex. I think Bosa might be the better NFL product.
Thanks Shane. It's probable since we already know how good Bosa is and he's established, but man CY has crazy potential. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he was better than Bosa

When I read the title I thought you were just nitpicking, but after watching the video I completely agree with your analysis.
Thanks Leo. Yeah it was tough, cause I wanted to convey he's really, really good, but that there's still room for improvement. I didn't want people to think I was saying he's bad, if he improves in the areas I outlined, he'll be ridiculous

Nice. This is actual film analysis.
Thanks Marco, glad you liked it
Do you know how terrifying it is to imagine this dude putting it all together as a Cowboys fan ?
Hayden P so we just going to ignore the talent on the giants d line?

@@AlexRollinsNFL Okay, now delete this video before the Giants, Eagles, and (especially) the Cowboys watch this video.
Thanks Scott. It's pretty fair to say there were a couple of missed calls on Bosa and I suppose we can leave it at that...
I really appreciate it enjoy this take on Chase young awesome Video is great.

Reminds me a little of LaVar Arrington. Elite physical tools, but only had one move - speed rush around the edge. NFL-caliber left tackles would just ride him upfield about 20 yards past the QB.
I remember many years ago how Mu Tigers defense line was kicking lineman out to the draft for 1-2 rounds consistently so much props for Ohio State doing it now
The major problem with Chase Young is that he got drafted by the Redskins
Look up daron payne and ionnidis film dumb Ass, they just got the best defensive player in the draft can’t double everyone lol..
@@Hofmedia9 Jonathan Allen and montez sweat
mickee06 I said that all in another comment I’m aware of them but Payne and ionnidis are our best interior linemen, Payne gets doubled already so w young if they try to double young it’s gonna create chaos.. young came to a team best fit for him so this dudes a dumb ass.. sweat still had 7-8 sacks last year and he was in coverage half the time .. imagine him in the 4-3 scheme w an actual good d coordinator and all the other talent around him
Times are changing my friend
I guess we'll see. I think it'll be one of the best D lines in the league, probably as ridiculously good as Dolphins' secondary, especially if Montez Sweat can take a step up this year.
I saw this on another video literally it's a really small thing if he has the move he just needs to be thought how to use it
Yeah, it's definitely there, it's not like he doesn't have the move.

Some-bitches
Enigma Ratsel THANK YOU. So many people hating on the skins in the comments
Also, Jack Del Rio coached a guy named Julius Peppers. So Rivera with Del Rio +Young...Sweat, Kerrigan, Allen, Payne, Ioannidis, etc. I expect great things on that side of the ball.
PhairrowCire I just don’t look at national media anymore. Clowns like Skip Bayless constantly hating on the skins and loving the cowgirls. Disgusting.
Great analysis!!!!!!!!!
Appreciate that Scrillz, hope he doesn't murder Wentz
Great vid
Do you have any filmroom breakdowns on LBs? Ur content is top notch
Thank you Joe! I guess it's one position I haven't dedicated too many episodes to yet, but I do have one on Isaiah Simmons when he was coming out
This has me convinced to take Ficher’s ring away and give it to Bosa...

When Chase improves on his technique which is only a matter of time he will be better than Nick Bosa, hands down.
Hands down? Lol Bosa has the best D line coach in the League and will only improve on the Niners. Young has the misfortune of playing for the Redskins.
Bosa will always be better
zay 49 we have jack del rio so no chase is already better
Austin York misfortune? He has Bruce Smith Jack Del Rio and Ron Rivera not to mention one of the best dlines in the league this is the best possible situation for him tbh
Hands down is a crazy statement. Young will always be challenged to match Bosas intensity and the fact the Bosa is an overall better football player.
Really? You're questioning Bosa's athleticism? If he stays healthy he's going to be an all-time great, multiple DPOY and certain Hall of Famer.
And now they’re reunited
Thoughts on the Carmen Jackson vs Chase Young battle?
Young has elite defensive coach Jack del Río who will coach him when to bull rush and when to use scissors and bend.
AlexRollinsNFL Great point; Soo excited for This season!!
Great stuff. I'm sure you took stuff from Brett Kollman. Such as that Penn State example. You guys should work together
Had these guys been in the same draft class and both only had there college résumé to go on who would you have taken first Bosa or Young?
Skins fan here. I love that we took Young, but I have a thought here. The guy LOVES making plays in the backfield. Bull-rushing could result in a pocket collapse but not necessarily a play he makes by himself. I think it's something he'll learn to improve on in the NFL because he'll have a great new D Coordinator and will be with one of the most talented line in the league. He'll come around on that. I think he's going to become a more complete player in the NFL due to the players around him and the new coach he'll have.
With that line, he's going to be sick. Skins will be a fun watch
Dude bosa is a fucking beast
How did you get that super bowl film and how can I collect film cause I wanna study
NFL game pass.com has all the nfl film, and right now it's free which is crazy. It's usually 100 bucks a year. College is hard to find, there's no service where you can buy it. I offer my college film library to my patreon subscribers
AlexRollinsNFL thanks man
Not concerned with his decision making, he’ll learn and be coached up fast.
Thanks for the comment, yeah he's incredible. Tightens a few things up and he's gonna be LEGIT
Now They are teammates again
As a Skins fan I like and understand what you are saying and I am hoping Jack Del Rio will do a great job on coaching up these issues in his game and making him just as if not more dominant than Bosa!
I definitely think he can, gonna be fun to watch Henry
Good break down
