      @@wpl8275 Dexter Lawrence's last year of college he had 1.5 sacks, and only 15 solo tackles (30 something total), he's easily top 5. You can't accurately judge interior D-lineman (or any position really, but especially interior D-line), based on stats. You've got to actually watch tape and see how the opposing offenses are blocking him. Idc if you get 0 stats of any kind all year, if they're constantly having to double you, and you're drawing holding penalties, that's a huge impact all by itself, do that every year for ten years and you're the 🐐 of d-lineman, 0 tackles or sacks necessary.

    I think Carter has the added benefit of being in a weaker DT class compared to Anderson who is in a deeper DE class. There is a big drop off in talent after Carter, whereas you could still get a great edge after Anderson. That being said, I’d be thrilled to have either player on my defense. They’re both beasts

    • @chewbaka1496
      @chewbaka1496 Год назад +6

      I'm sorry, but even if what you say is true, that has zero to do with a defensive player going top 3. If the best DT is only great because of a weak class, why would any team draft him top three? A team can pick up from free agency if worse comes to worst. They wouldn't waste a top pick like that. It appears you need to educate yourself on football a bit more.

    • @jayking2866

      If a team seems it a necessary need than they will overvalue a player who is in a weak position class. Just like a team would undervalue taking a the best player in a stacked position class.

      I don't think Anderson will be more successful than Carter at the next level. GA's O-lineman held him to 3 tackles and 1 assist in last year's Natty. That O-lineman was a 5* recruit himself. Anderson will face a lot of former 5* recruits at the next level. Meanwhile Carter has been a beast since his Freshman season. The only time he's not impactful was when he was injured and didn't play.

    Well he is going to join a DLine consisting of: Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Hassan Reddick, Derek Barnett, and Milton Williams. Along with his teammates from Georgia in Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith.
    It might be the perfect situation for him. Not only does he had veterans he can learn from but his old teammates from Georgia can help the vets keep him in line, should the off field issues crop up.

    For the Bears, I don't feel he is a good fit. He is fast now, but in a 4-3 against men and not college boys , he will need to add weight. Will that slow him down and take away some of that what makes him special? Also, he misses way too many tackles against college players, what will happen against the very best? If the Bears still ran a 3-4 , I would take a hard look. But, as it is now, I'd rather take Carter for the Bears. The defense the Bears run depends on a 3 tech to be dominant. So if the Bears sign a 3 Tech in free agency, they may go Anderson , or trade back. No way they pick Anderson at 2 or if they land 1 overall.

    I like how nobody is saying that Will Anderson can go to the Cardinals as a 3-4 defense which would benefit tremendously not having his hands in the dirt . Plus many mocks have us taking him @3

    Will Anderson Jr just doesn't look great on film. For college, he had a great scheme, but in the NFL, he doesn't have the speed on film like some elite NFL pass rushers, and he's extremely undersized for the edge rusher, OLB position. He will get bodied by an NFL backup RT with one arm.
    Now if you put him in a system with other pass rushers, and interior bull rushers, he could have a ceiling similar to Leonard Floyd.
    I'm afraid Jalen Carter could end up like a Johnathan Allen, but he could also be a richard dent or a larger version of Aaron Donald (dont hold your breathe on that one). His ceiling is there if he wants to keep working at it.

    My opinion: if you need an edge in a 3-4 or an outside defensive end in a 4-3 take Anderson. If you need a 4-3 defensive tackle or a 3-4 defensive end take carter. It really doesn’t matter because both of them will probably become all pros. So take who you want because no one will really care. Hope my falcons lose out so we might have a chance because our defense sucks

    What do you think Will Anderson's arm length will be? If he develops a nice counter move he could definitely be a Robert Mathis type dude. But Mathis had those long arms to get the strip sacks. And I'd definitely take Mathis career in the top 3.
    People have compared Carter to Suh due to him being a physically imposing freak. But Suh was more refined coming out.

    Jalin Carter, the guy that was so embarrassed by his play vs. Ohio State that he started running 100-yard dashes thinking that they would help his conditioning. You must come to camp in better condition to play 60 snaps a game and not have to continually be substituted out when you are only playing 40 snaps a game. If his lack of work ethic is the character concern Todd McShay claims scouts, GMs, and coaches are talking about, I don't want my Bears drafting him. They need to get to the truth of it all before draft day.
