Looking forward to the Odin! I tried PS2 emulation on the Powkiddy X18S in one of my videos (knowing it was a stretch) but some games were actually playable to my surprise (SOME) but definitely the Odin will be much better can’t wait
yes if they overclock it a bit like they say some PS2 games will be capable.

I don't see a point in Base for myself. My ceiling is PSP and maybe some GC.
We can talk if there's $400 SD888 unit with Win11 though.
The Lite will cover PSP for sure. It's going to look great on the screen. It depends on what games you want on GC. I think Lite should cover a lot of games honestly.
With the RK3326 - I thought I'd be able to get some PSP or DC running, but it felt like none of the games I wanted worked so I just decided to step up to the Base.
Anyways I think the Lite should be really good.
If your ceiling is psp why not just buy a ps vita and use that? It plays psp games natively and has two analog sticks...

@@JimRPG Thanks. It was really just expanding on the score that Taki put out since people would be interested in the before and after benchmarks. I'm glad they've got the OC stable and those scores are impressive.
Be wary of overclocked systems, they can have reduced lifespan.
Yes though i will say its most likely an adjustable overclock where you can vary the amount of power. If not custom firmware will do that. Id only use it for games that really need it. Other games like PSP or Dreamcast you can run it at lower clocks.
So many variables that come into play when overclocking to determine wear on lifespan even worst case this thing will last well over time you still using it.
How did they do the overclock?, the console comes whit that feature

I've noticed most people who've commented have definitely only seen this video for info on the Odin. It can play all sorts. It's literally better than any other handheld in the market. Steam link. Snapdragon. The works. "Overlocking can shorten lifespan" any use of any device will shorten the lifespan. That's what planned obsolescence is. That's how it works. It will always be finite. Christ why are people so insufferable nowadays.

Yeah Odin will be good. I wouldn't worry about the comments, I like all the varied comments, everyone has a different opinion and that's good! :)
What about battery life after OC?
probably down - but i expect the OC to be adjustable.

Cool but honestly that Odin in the video - way too big for me as a handheld. I like size and form factor of devices like the 3DS or RP2 or even the Vita but these new powerful handhelds are just too big. I love the idea of being able to play Gamecube games on a handheld but none of the devices I've seen so far look good to me as handhelds.
Yeah it depends if you like big screens. I think its a good size. I have the RG351P, and i think its a bit small at 3.5", and this is 6". 5" would be Vita, and thats fine, but 6" is more comfortable. It's not pocketable though, but its a small sacrifice.
maybe consider the KTR-R1 - its 4.5" and with the same chip as the Odin. It has a Snapdragon 845.
@@JimRPG definitely going to look at the KTR-R1 - for me in a handheld weight and size are big factors due to some arthritis in my hands.
Will the pro be able to do all dreamcast and gamecube games?
Yes to dreamcast, gamecube maybe 90% of games... i guess there might be a few that don't run properly just because of emulation problems rather than the hardware.
i knew the odin had to be overclocked lool. Because in no way in hell was it gonna run those games at that speed whilst having an 845. Thanks for the confirmation mate
no all the videos, you've seen for the odin on the official channel or Taki's channel is probably running it before the overclock, so the overclock is a bonus. This is because they just asked for assistance from Qualcomm over the past week.
Will we be able to install or boot Linux instead of Android?
Android or Windows on ARM. I don't know about Linux for now.
Hope bigger phone company follows the trends.
Most flagship soc from 855 to 888 nowdays only use abt 30-50% of its power. Because lack of cooling system , battery.
If we can have device with big active cooling , bypass charging.
It would be awesome handheld to play cross platform upcoming mmo's games on android.
Just need to carry power bank 🤣 or plug on ur car.
I can say that im excited cause i always playing genshin on my 855 even tho its bloody hot ,i still prefer to play it whil laying on my bed 🤣

So Odin decided to add a bigger heatsink which is part of the reason it might be delayed a bit longer. It could boost performance from an SD845 to SD855... or close to.

no it doesn't play vita games - emulation still not great for vita right now!
