- Ike & Tina Turner performing 'She came in through the bathroom window', 'Get back' and 'Proud mary' on the TV show "Rollin' On The River", Feb. 10, 1972.
I don't care how many try to mimic her, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ❤ *TINA TURNER*
Good ole, raw Soul music! I still cant think of anyone else who was so physical on stage and managed to power sing at the same time. Soul sangin' at its best!❤
All those ladies very athletic and fit- back in those days bands with horns were very good- guess that's why I still listen to Tower of Power, EW&Fire, Chicago to name a few
James Brown!!!
The queen for ever ❤ Thank you Tina 🙏
And wearing high heels! 👠 👠
MJJ was on the male performers side...
this was one tight band. 14 people on stage doing their thing and bringing it together as one. rock n roll.
I wish the audio would have been better.
The audience is just so dead. Not jamming or nothing.
RIP Tina - you were wonderful
TINA TURNER THE QUEEN OF ROCK N ROLL 🏆
This is what a live performance is! (As opposed to the premixed, pre packaged, auto- tuned, sfx talentless messes we are subjected to now.) Tina wrote the book. Period.
more like Ike. Tina never would've reached her status without him
Ike and Tina let's say. He had the vision from start... and she had all the package...
This band is a precision machine, not a single note out of place
"You miss a step tonight, you'll be frying fish tomorrow."
@@IAmJustR can't argue with results
Ike put together a great band! Great performance full of funk, soul and rock. Tina got right down to the nitty gritty. For those wondering this footage is from the TV show "Rollin On The River" on February 10, 1972.
Back when music was real as the hair on a grizzly bear’s arse.
Live band, live singing, high energy dancing, sexy ladies...The Ike and Tina Turner Revue always put on a great show!
The show was called "Rolling with Kenny Rodgers "
Tina & those Ikettes were always kicking it!! Love them & their energy!!
Im amazed at the Queen❤...but also how those wigs stayed on their heads..i mean did not fall off..And the dancers...Amazing
They stiched them wigs on the perimeter to stay on up to this day
I almost thought the dancer with the lighter colored hair was her. She definitely showed up to show out, what a phenomenal performer she was too. Her entire production from the band, the background performers, the hair and the outfits were phenomenal ❤🔥❤🔥
I love this performance, I think this was the beginning of the " Look " her iconic wigs and stage clothes etc. But I'm lovin' Her look and sound here ❤️💯🙂
I would have loved to have been Ike’s wig salesman.
Change in time signature after the intro to "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" is killer!
IKE AND TINA REVUE WAS A PHENOMENAL LIVE SHOW!!
SADLY, WHAT WAS HAPPENING BEHIND THE SCENES TINA NEVER DESERVED! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
that is a GREAT version of "she came in...". funky, bluesy, rocky, ...
This is amazing . Man they had be one of the greatest live acts in history!
I lost 5 lbs watching this!!!
😂👌
Tina certainly raises the temperature in any room where she'd performed. Vim, vim, vim!
5lbs? That's it?😂
So did Aaah! Who knew my testicles had that capacity!
Just look at all them LEGGGGS mooove!😜
Lol😂
IKE TURNER, THE GENIUS....TINA TURNER, JUST WONDERFUL.....
Whoever been to a Ike and Tina concert was so lucky back in the day. They were excellent performers. 🎶 ❤😂😂😅
Love ❤️ the dress. I’d wear it today.
Thank God for youtube! To show this young generation this is how its done! The original diva!!
Damn right !!!
I agree
Nobody before, during or since has ever been able to hold a candle to what this woman could do. Truly amazing!
The dancers the band livvvvvvvvvvvve
They were incredible live. Great Live Band .
Too bad the audience didn't appreciate it then they look lifeless 😢- bands were very good in those days
@Paint Lady I agree, but that's the way things were in the 60s. I watched another video, different band, same type of audience. 😊😅
I have watched this opening dance about a million times ✊🏾💃🏾
0:48 Holy mother of god. That is how you drop it LOL
Queen of Rock and Roll! RIP LEGEND!
Can you believe that when Tina got older her voice got better.
I love this opening they did just pure power and funk with the dancing they did and the way they did get back was real good!
And I thought the Beatles wrote the original She Came In Through the Bathroom Window. Both versions are incredible, but this one blew me away. Loved every bit of this.
They did write the original?
What's up with the microphones? Tina has some issues with it at the beginning of Get Back (which she takes in stride) and then they pan over to the Ikettes and they're having trouble too lol! Great performance though I love the dance they do during the first number, Tina and the Ikettes were something else man....the 60's and 70's were the best!
You can thank little Esther Jones (backing away from Tina at the end of "Get Back") for most of the choreography from 1970-1976. She also trained most of the Ikettes during her time with the review.
@@kenton6098 yess Esther! She was known as the Mother. What energy she had! She passed in 2006 . RIP Esther.
Black transmutes energy all the time!!! Look at all we been through we are so strong and powerful 💅🏾
Well you could say that for lots of people.....
@@Albertanator no you can’t… only melanin can transmute energy
They were phenomenal ❤
great choreography from the Ikettes

Get it Ike...My man!
Ike had big brass 🎱s.
I'm glad we're hearing this Ike and Tina stuff on you tube it's a treat.
The Soulja Boy tell em’ waaaaaaaaaay before he was born. They killed those dances!
What a woman fine Tina and her ladies the iketts
gives me goosebumps on my arms and back
They closed this set with “wanna take you higher” dancing off in a cloud of smoke...fabulous!! Anyone who has that part please share...
Random trivia: that red-bearded guy in the crowd at the start is Mickey Jones, drummer for The First Edition, the band that hosted this TV series.
Can we please bring music and instruments back in black music back
The sheer power behind that voice uuuft amazing
Definitely fearfully and wonderfully made hallelujah father God almighty R.I.P me tina
Yaaaas...Queen Tina
Roll On Down That River
Thank You
Shake it and groove it!
Rainha, a melhor👑✊🏽
Brill best dancers I’ve ever seen
Love you, Tina, forever. Goodbye.
She still killed the rock but this alll another level
A superb set. Ike kickin the opening vocal on proud mary
This camera man understood that the Ikettes were at least as interesting to look at (more, in my opinion) as Tina.
One thing about the Ikettes is that although they were typically doing things in unison, each was often doing it in a slightly different way, like at the end of Proud Mary when Esther- on the left- is doing the drowning woman (which she did every time) while Tina and the other two women continued to althernate between breast stroke (!) and crawl motions.
I love you Tina Turner I don't care yeah beautiful lovely woman
Maravilhosa! E aos 8:57 fica claro de onde surgiu a dancinha famosa do Claudinho and Buchecha
What a bass
When she split from Ike she quit singing this way. I’m sorry, but I prefer her music from the old days.
@Dante Whitley that's right. But I share the above comment: I also prefer what she did with Ike and especially in 1971 and 72.
I think it had to do with the company she kept lol the music she did with Ike was LIT! the energy was raw, wish I was born during these times
The way Tina handled that microphone like a pro when it was acting up😂
Thank You from the bottom of my heart..♥
Respect!!!... UK
RIP Tina💓🌹🕊️🌈
inspiração para as chacretes!!!
They closed their set with "wanna take you higher ". Anyone with this part of their appearance, please share.
Excellent and Tina was so hot, lol....

al green I am tied being alone
💖
Came in through the bathroom window!!!
She was too fly. 👠👠👠
This is what you call cardio.
Damn that tall Ikette with dark hair is hot!!!!!
+ calm This was Jean Burks ( presumably trombonist Eddy Burks' wife ).
Actually all of them are hot, but Jean is the one I would have banged first.
+ calm Yes, Jean was something. Most of them were sex bombs anyway!
Just where was this filmed. Audience just not interested.
Pretty sure this is where destiny's child was created x
Yeah u can tell this was when he started using the drugs…it was very hippyish to me.. and he’s lyrics he mostly wrote we’re talking about working like a dog for another man… while he has Tina singing not giving her dime…. And she still came out a winner
I don't know what her name is, but, the ikette on the left gives me everything. She was the main one right there with Tina👏🙌
It was actually the one in the middle who stayed after she left Ike as well
+kozmikoblivion That's Esther Jones. She was the best and the longest running Ikette.
i saw that too. those legs
i saw that too. those legs
i saw that too. those legs
She does not follow the original lyrics of "She comes in..." . But I can not understand all of Tinas lyrics. Could anyone who does understand give a few hints?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beyonce pales in comparison!!!! LOL
T Jackson Stop bring Beyonce! It is not a comparison! She is very talented too!
Beyonce who?
@@vilmaoropeza349The soul in Tina's voice brings a tear to my eye. Beyonce Doesn't do that for me. There may be talent in Beyonce, but Tina was classy and her a voice was like the world's prettiest buzzsaw.
Mark Rago I know this comment was a year ago I love and have the upmost respect for Ms.Tina but to say she has as if Beyoncé doesn’t is ridiculous and a crock of shit She is classy in every aspect of her life.Stop comparing these women. They are very similar in style and performance but also different but both very much talented. Tina was the best of her time and Beyoncé is the best of hers...PERIOD!!!!!!!
Zulu?
hacían buena mancuerna ike y tina antes de que ese cuate le metiera sus madrizas a la pobre tina :(
Why did Esther always pinch her nose when they were performing Proud Mary?
She was mimicking someone drowning while the others were making swimming motions. You can thank little Esther Jones (backing away from Tina at the end of Get Back) for most of the Ikettes choreography 1970-1976. I think she's the most interesting of all the Ikettes although Claudia had an interesting life along with PP Arnold and a few others.
@@kenton6098 Ok.
Robbie Montgomery and Vanetta Fields did well on their own after they left the Revue and took off. Vera Hamilton did a few things too .
I read somewhere that Jessie Smith went back to gospel...
@@hellochannel6344 : Yep. The Ikettes were a huge part of the appeal of the Review and it's hard to find out what happened to a lot of them just looking around online. There's a fair amount about Robbie, PP Arnold and Claudia, some things about Vanetta, but Esther played so large a part in the Review that I'm disappointed that there isn't more information about her from the 30 years between the time she left the Review and her death. Her career after the Review wasn't nearly as successful as the others I've mentioned and I guess that's why.
Also, Jean Brown (Burk) was with them for a long time, but there's practically nothing about her available online. Not many Ikettes will be around for long at this point.
@@kenton6098 I think the Ikettes were underrated. They all were very good singers, most of them from gospel, dancers and entertainers. Ike was very strict about this, you know his motto:
you miss one step today, you'll be frying fish tomorrow!
PP Arnold had a great career in England I believe? Claudia Lennear was less lucky on her own and she ended up teaching Spanish and French in some university, but she appeared in the movie 20 feet from stardom where she reports what was an Ikette's life like within the Revue.
There's another Ikette who performed alongside Esther and Claudia in the late 60s : Pat Powdrill. You can see her in video entitled Ike and Tina Play Boy after dark, and you can read a very interesting report about her in "Looking for Pat Powdrill Spectropop".
Edna Richardson performed with Tina after she left Ike and she had a short role in movie Truck Turner with Isaac Hayes.
There were so many girls in this band and pretty much turnover. Fascinating.
@@hellochannel6344 : Thanks, looks like you've been reading the same things I have. I did find the piece on Pat Powdrill.
Esther is sometimes difficult to recognize because she seemed to wear shorter wigs sometimes.
I wasn't sure why Claudia Lennear turned to teaching. She certainly had great contacts in show business. Sometimes people get tired of that life and want to settle down.
My favorite Ikettes song is "Get Back" where they're dancing all over the stage. One of the brilliant things that Esther did with the choreography was that all three Ikettes weren't always doing the same thing in unison. There were often little differences, like toward the end of Proud Mary where Jean and Vera are doing similar moves, but Esther is doing the Drowning Girl.
In spite of the ugly parts of their personal life, their music was pure and magical.
Unless you were there, you don't know anything about their personal lives.
@@kenton6098 Try pulling your head out. It is well documented how Ike abused Tina and that is coming from others, besides Tina, who confirmed it.
K Stewart
Right. It’s well documented that aliens are circling the earth ready to attack. You watched a movie and you know all, wowee. Pull your head out Jack. You either cite your documentation or keep your mouth shut. “Cite” means to list your sources. I’ll bet you’ve never spoken to anyone in the band. If you’re so smart then maybe you can tell me why there aren’t a lot of band members jumping on the Bash Ike bus driven by people who watched a movie.
News flash, Everybody has had 'ugly parts' of their lives. Just so you keep that in perspective. Doesn't detract one bit from those with off the chart talent like Ike and Tina had.
@@kenton6098 So Tina was maybe just flat out lying?
2:02 Tina invented the chicken head dance
Curtis King II She definitely did
Well no, that was probably Ikette Esther Jones, who did most of the choreography from 1970 - 1976
@@kenton6098 My favorite and longest ikette👩🏿🎙️
@@antwanwilson7228 Don't forget Jean Burks, Edna Richardson and Vera Hamilton, to name a few 😊
I can see Beyoncé has study THE MRS TINA TUNNER !
Beyonce is very good, but Tina is the Master.
True..like micheal did james brown in his moves. All talented
Beyoncé always said, Tina was her music inspiration. But they’re totally two different dancers.
Thank God she escaped .
Sadly Ikette Jean Brown ( the tallest of the 2 brunette s) died in last January at age 77.
This performance is from Kenny Rodgers' show "Rollin'.Ike&Tina closed this set with "Wanna Take You Higher" Anyone with that part, please share.
Legend I love her original music before the rock
Too over funked?? Is that even possible? I think not...
That was a time when people could really dance, I miss those times from long ago.
