Three singers with diverse vocal styles in this medley shows just how spectacular the Beatles’ songbook was. Heck, I would’ve bought a single of Kate Smith covering “Let It Be”, based on how she performed just one stanza here.
I'm totally gobsmacked! 😲 My grandfather's first cousin was Kate Smith, and I had no idea until today that she got to sing with Tina & Cher! ☄️ That's fantastic! My cousin singing with two of the biggest legends in rock. 🥰💚
Look up videos of Judge Joe Brown and Arsenio Hall talking about Tina Turner. Apparently, she was so pleasant to be to around all the time. Elton John also had a spat with her. She was also estranged from her family for many years. Tina was a talented, strong and vocal woman but she was also spiteful and knew how to manipulate the press to her advantage.
What an amazing medley which showcases the distinctive voices of each of these women! Wow--who would have thought that Kate's voice could be blended with the likes of Tina and Cher!?!
Incredibly fantastic. Watched Kate Smith show when I was a kid. She ended every show singing the Star Spangled Banner. It was wonderful. And you just can't get any better than Tina & Cher. God bless the three of them!
Wonderful video of 3 musical icons celebrating the Beatles. You can see the bond of friendship between Cher and Tina Turner. They seemed to be Kindred spirits.
@@RaymondHng dude that's not the dis you think it is. If her husband Ike hadn't got her hooked on drugs and physically abused her throughout their whole marriage she wouldn't have been called that. Plus a lot of singers and celebrities were doing a lot of drugs in the 60's & 70's including white men and groups but are you going around and pointing out that any of them were drug addicts or is it just black women you like to degrade by pointing out their tragic addiction with no other content!!!
this was so amazing. I was completely suprised by how Kate Smith held her own with Cher and Tina. Would like to hear more from this trio. God Bless Cher's talent booking team for putting this trio together. And for those unfamiliar with the Kate Smith story - within the following year (1976) she would slip into a coma from Diabetes and suffer brain damage. RIP Kate and Tina. Thanks for the memories.
I feel badly for Ms Smith in respect to her coma but I really disagree with you. She's comically bad in this performance, which is a shame because Tina sounds great and it's nice ot hear Cher do some real music for a change as opposed to the crappy rep she usually does.
This looks like just so much fun. It’s rare to see performers let themselves go so much and just purely enjoy every second of a performance 😊😊😊 Amazing!!!!
Cher, Tina Turner and Kate Smith - singing the Beatles! Now that came out of left field. I had to click on this one. First off, the Seventies were awesome! And Tina Turner's smile on stage is just so damn infectious. Instant connection with the audience. As a kid, I knew KS from watching the Flyers games on TV, I knew she had a big voice. Still has it here. Must have been tough to be up there with the two younger ladies, and singing music that wasn't her style, but she hung in there like a pro. This was fun to watch. Thanks for posting it. The Cher Show, and the S and C Show were great. Fond memories watching both as a kid.
Yep. I watched it when it aired in 1975. I thought "why in the world is the 'Acid Queen' paired up with Kate Smith? Tina is wildly dancing like a rock singer while Kate is just swaying in the wind."
Actually, as weird as this combination might seem, Kate didn't want to be stuck in the past and liked to do modern songs. I'm sure she wasn't forced to do this, but participated enthusiastically. And her voice is still really strong in this too. She does fine, and holds her own with the other two.
What an absolute treat! I remember this! I was young, but I didn’t miss Cher if I didn’t have to. Cher, Tina and Kate Smith…. Oh the good old days, THIS was entertainment! Thank you for sharing, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this!
The last 2 minutes made my eye tears with nostalgia about my grandparents whom I lived with when I was a kid. Yesterday was my Grandma birthday, and my grandpa death anniversary is in 3 days, so to find this and watch it just took me to a very happy place, thank you.
Great ! When they were active, with just a couple of years into their career, music world celebrities were already paying tribute to them in special programs. Here, only five years after their breakup, they were already a legend. The Beatles, the best band in the world. Even today.
This is so awesome! To just see the 3 of them singing together and enjoying themselves and not trying to out-sing each other and compete like you see a lot today when singers do a duet or sing in a group! Lovely!! 😍❤💕

OMG growing up as a teen in the 70’s is something I’m eternally grateful for, the 70’s were the most incredible tv times.. there were so few channels in most places the whole world got into shows!, the Sonny and Cher Show, Love, American Style, Mash, Soap, the Cilla Black show, following classics like The Dean Martin Show, where you never knew what or who was going to show up next, would be mind blowing for kids today in this sterile media world!!
What a time time alive. The 1970s had amazing variety shows where eclectic talent could come together like this.
Kate Smith is a revelation to me here. I had only known her for famous "God Bless America" rendition. Her voice blends in perfectly here.
And the songs are not even part of her generation. She was 69 when this was shot.
Yes!!!! Thank you Cher!
We'll miss you😢 RIP. Youve done so much. You may now rest. Youre the greatest.😢

Wow....look at Kate Smith rockin' out there! She sounds great!
Cher and Tina's friendship was over 50 years long. To fly overseas and see a friend who's sick as she was, shows how much they meant to each other
Yeap, really true!
Cher helped her...people didn't want to touch Tina after the divorce...

As a hard Beatles' fan this is amazing. Covers like this are really hard to find: Cher, Tina and a pleasant surprise from me Ms. Smith
this set design is insane in the best way
The entire thing is a work of sheer insanity.

I wasn't even born in this era but I'd give anything to live through it. It looked so beautiful
I was a teenager throughout the 70s and ... it was beautiful!! Makes me feel sad watching this now in 2023.
somehow music was more authentic and people were kinder... that's how I remember such a beautiful era 🙂
