  • A cornea transplant is a surgical procedure to replace damaged cornea with healthy donor tissue. It may take a year or longer to fully recover and get back normal vision.
Eye may be covered with an eye pad or plastic shield, which will be removed in follow-up visit.
The eye patch must be worn when you shower and sleep. When washing hair, push your head back so that water can flow backwards off your head.
Wear glasses or other protective eyewear to help protect your eyes.
Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and pushing anything heavier.
Refrain from reading and watching television for at least 10 days.
Walks or short rides are allowed after 1 week.
Running and jogging must be avoided for at least 2 weeks.
Refrain from sleeping on your stomach or on your operated side.

A suggestion for the creator of this video. CONSIDER YOUR AUDIENCE. Your audience is a community of VISUALLY IMPAIRED INDIVIDUALS. I can’t READ your video! You need to narrate this information so it is ACCESSIBLE to ALL.

@@Mkbis870 not to painful. Sometimes felt like sandpaper under my eye lid for a little bit. I recommend keeping the eye closed for a while. It was hard for me to open my eye for a while, even my dr seemed a little concerned but I wasn’t. It’s healing well. Vision is alot better. Got it done in Canada. Always keep the eye moist. It’s been 5-6 months since mine and my Dr still tells me to keep it moist. Be preventative rather than reactive. He said my eye is pretty dry and that once I’m able to feel that my eye is dry it’s been dry for a while already. Since it’s new tissue and not one with my body yet.
