    Thank you for doing these videos. I watched them before my transplant and it helped me prepare myself for this process. My doctor didn’t mention wearing the button up shirts or the timed spacing of drops. So I followed your process and had excellent results. I am very grateful I found you on you tube. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

      thank you very much, I'm so glad I can be of some help! :) As an artist myself I understand how scary having KC can be. Personally since my transplant my artwork has increasingly improved. I wish you the best of luck with your contacts and whatever steps you may choose to take in the future :)

    Hi Kelly
    Thank u for posting about keratoconus I been diagnosed for 12 years now. In both eye. Been doing the piggyback for 2 years but before that was using the gpr straight never bothered me. And today I went to my doc and he told me that I have cornea ulcer and it's so deep and scratched up. may lead to the transplants so I been looking at your videos . Which is really helpful and again thank u. Any advice and easy this stress would be helpful

    • @kellymcewen2823
      @kellymcewen2823  8 лет назад

      +sweetdreamstoall Thank you :) I'm glad the videos have been of some help. Before having the transplant I only wore GPR (ones that were meant to dome over the cornea) and actually had never heard of piggyback lenses. thank you for introducing me to something new! The best advice I can give as far as easing the stress is to try and understand how beneficial the surgery is (and how quickly you may notice an improvement in your vision). Also, know that the details of the surgery seem much more frightening than the surgery actually is. However, I know that what stresses others out about this process differs than mine. If there is anything in particular that is causing you stress that I can perhaps answer questions about or elaborate on please don't hesitate to ask.

    Hiii!!! wow quite big patch!!!! How you feel these days with patch and glasses? What s the Rx in your glasses? How you feel these days managing with glasses and eyepatch?

    • @kellymcewen2823
      @kellymcewen2823  7 лет назад

      Im not sure about the prescription in my glasses. However, as far as the patch goes I only wore it during the daytime for the first few days following the transplant, other than that it was only while I was sleeping. Overall the patch didn't present much of an issue for me.

    I have to go to the doctor an talk my implant. I am wondering if I have to be awake

    • @kellymcewen2823
      @kellymcewen2823  8 лет назад

      +Tiki Dreams I wasn't given any other option than being awake. Though I'm not sure if it is never an option. What i've read online patients are generally awake during the procedure. However, you are generally given medicine to help you relax. If you are very concerned with being awake during the procedure I suggest talking to your doctor about it. he/she has the most knowledge about your case and the procedure itself. Maybe they know of some other options to help with your experience. I was also nervous about being awake but I didn't experience much discomfort during my surgery. I hope this can be of some help!

    • @happybunney112
      @happybunney112 8 лет назад

      Thank you :) another question I am a artist to. And I am very concern is their any way their a type of glasses that can zoom in a little just so I can see when I do my painting

    • @kellymcewen2823
      @kellymcewen2823  8 лет назад

      +Tiki Dreams That's a good question! I had never thought of that before. I have thought of using a magnifying light for my small projects. There are certainly magnifying glasses which are typically used by jewelers. However, the magnification may be too high for what you are looking for. It's always worth checking out though! It's good to hear from another artist with this condition, it certainly has led me to approach the creative process differently.

    • @happybunney112
      @happybunney112 8 лет назад +1

      +Kelly McEwen Thank you and yes I understand about the jewelry glasses. I am praying that they will have something to used I mean it is 2016 right. lol, and yeah its always a freshing surprise to have someone with the same conditions and a amazing talent as well. someone you can relate to ^^

    I'm Monish from India. I have keratoconus in my both eyes Nd done C3 r to both my eyes. I'm wearing rgp lenses now in both eye , it gives me a good vision but sometime irritates a lot. So I'm looking to piggyback after watching videos RUclips. any advise about piggyback guys?

    • @kellymcewen2823
      @kellymcewen2823  7 лет назад

      I personally haven't had any experience with piggyback lenses, so I will leave the other members of this community to answer about them specifically. However, have you asked your doctor if hybrid lenses would be an option for you? I found them to be pretty comfortable, but had to move to hard contact lenses due to the advanced stage of my KC.
