To explain Felicity's outfit; skirts (including petticoats) from the 18th century were designed to allow access to pockets, which were bags tied at the waist under the skirt (and petticoats) (over the shift and stays). Obviously, this is better explained with pictures, so I suggest you look up images ^^; Basically, they had two ties and slits on the sides. That's why the doll's skirt has two ties, it's to mimick the real deal.
For me as a child growing up in the 90’s and ‘00s American Girl was all about the books and the stories. The outfits and accessories built a world for my doll…I had to beg years to get a second doll but all my birthday and Christmas money went to buying the books and outfits
I love how you can "see" almost every dolls head. If you have them on display, I feel like what's the point or how can you enjoy the dolls you love & spent money on, if you can't see them....I do the same. Lots of Amazon or any delivery box or doll package can be recycled into a shelf riser.

Seeing your AG dolls made me miss my BeForever Julie along with the first AG doll I got. When I was younger my friends thought they were creepy so I grew out of them and gave them to family but of course I went back to liking them when I grew up.

Ohhh how do you attach the paper? Last night my straightener randomly went higher temp than it was set and burned me and my doll’s hair so I definitely want to start using that if I can
@xCanadensis i fold it in half and then staple it together on the sides and at the top in a sock-like shape so it can slip over the hair straightener like some kind of sheath, sometimes i double it over so there's like two layers of parchment paper between the straightener and the hair. I saw this parchment paper technique from an italian doll restoration youtuber called Emanuele Forestieri first! I still keep the straightener on low heat though just to be safe. I could post a picture of how i cover the straightener in the dollect discord if the explanation is too confusing!

Maybe people are buying the cheap 18 inch doll clothes on Amazon, as they're less than AG clothes ? I've grabbed a couple to restyle my large RH Amaya in. ( pants are short, but rest fits ).
I want Nellie sooo bad! All of the ones I have seen have been SO orange. I just started collecting AG this year, and I’m trying to slowly build up. I live near the Dallas store so it’s a little dangerous. Definitely taking over my life!! I would love to see more AG videos 🥰 I think the outfits and accessories are more expensive because they have gotten messed up or small pieces lost over the years. There are so many outfits I want that I can’t splurge on!!

The big white shelf above the Winx? They’re IKEA’s Lack shelves! Or if you mean what the Disney dolls are standing on to prop up the ones in the back, they’re just display risers! I think the ones they’re on are acrylic ones I bought at target a few years ago so unfortunately they no longer sell them 😭 if you live near a DAISO they often have them!
