Man I appreciate a nice and detailed video like this. Nothing goes to waste here. Thanks for the link in description. Those help a lot. I didn't know you needed a gasket for this installation, nobody ever mentioned in other videos.
You don't that is his preference.....things like this are just slip on and snug down. He seemed over worried about a potential exhaust leak why he was checking with his hand. Most all aftermarket companies size down pipes to fit snuggly over original without a gasket. Which is why he had to widen pipe to accommodate the gasket.
@@LoganBrinkman24 yeah it should as long as the dirtbike's exhaust pipe can accept the slip-on. So just find out the diameter of your dirtbike's pipe and compare it to the slip-on
Most all installations don't require a gasket a simple tightening of the clamp works. Because it is a slip on there should be no loss of exhaust at the connection. If wortied about fit couple wraps of aluminum foil tape you should be good. I'd be more worried about an exhaust leak after widening pipe in order to get it to accomodate a factory mid pipe exhaust. Most aftermarket companies take things like that into consideration. You're eliminating factory exhaust so they downsize mid pipe to just snug onto standard pipe.
I just ordered the same mid pipe and an OEM gasket, would you recommend I widen the mid pipe and use the gasket like you did or just skip the gasket for a better fit?
i Buy an a mt03 2018 and i have a question, i hear in the vídeo when u go from 2nd gear to 3rd gear the gearbox hits? i'm right? i have this feel on My bike
The exhaust looks pretty similar between 2015-2018 and 2019-2021 models so it may fit. If anything, you will probably need a different mid-pipe to connect the factory pipe to the muffler. The mid pipe has relief strips that i just bent open a little bit with channel locks, put in the new exhaust gasket and clamped on to the bike's pipe.
@@niz2w I see you're in the bay area! I'm in the South Bay. How much would you charge me to install Anodized Racing slip on, Ransoto Fender Eliminator and some CRG levers?
@@nearsite Yayyy Areaaa! This is my very first motorcycle and I installed the slip-on watching some RUclips videos and decided to document it on my own. I think it's super easy for anyone and it's very rewarding when you got a nice finished product that you put together yourself. I installed new OEM levers too and that was super easy as well. My bike already came with a fender eliminator so I havent had to do that. Based on the ease of installation, I'd have a lot of faith you can DIY, but if not, take it to a local shop.
@@niz2w Well, I ended up purchasing a used R3 that already had a slip on, so that solved that problem! Tomorrow I will be riding to Gilroy Motorcycle center to have them install the levers I purchased.
yeah i actually mentioned this in a previous comment that I fixed that after i made this video. i pushed the pipe down more til it bottomed out and tightened the clamp over the gasket.
I have a general question: I want to put a slip on exhaust (mivv GP) on my 1999 sv650s. After installing te slip on do I have retune or make adjustments to the carburator?? I don't want my bike to run lean afterwards
From what I've heard, you don't need a tune for slip-on. The slip-on really is just for sound, weight reduction and looks. The bike still had it's catalytic converter. A tune is needed more when you remove that catalytic converter or when you replace the whole exhaust system from headers to muffler. As far as the carb, I'm not sure. This bike didnt have a carb. Thanks for watching!
No I didn't wrap it with exhaust wrap because the fairings weren't touching any parts of the pipe or muffler. No parts of any of my fairings were affected.

I bought the same for my 125cc bike
It will arrive today!
Love from Austria🔥🔥
awesome! You probably got the bike already. How's it treating you? :)

@@Yeahhhhhbuddy yeah it sounded nice. it was a slip-on only so it wasnt as loud as a full system. i dont have this bike anymore but i did like it.
Good deal and not loud like some that make twins sound like crap to me. Looks good and price is right. Cannot believe some basic slip ons cost 500 up

Well done video
Hi . I have took the bolt out from under the rear of the pipe but cant move the baffle. Any suggestions. Thank you
yank the baffle out with pliers
With the buffle in it sounds not so loud… is it true?? (Because I want to buy one but like the very loud pipes)
take the baffle out to make it louder

You don't need a gasket. This vid and comments are the first time me ever reading about using an exhaust. Not needed.
OEM had a gasket, so I put a gasket
Would there be a way this would work with a Honda Navi?
make sure you know the diameter of the link pipe and you can find a slipon that should fit
Did you notice any performance difference?
Did it come with the mid pipe?
yes it did

yeah i hear what youre talking about. i dont know what it is, but in reality, the ride is smooth and i dont feel anything off
...put the clamp at the end of the outer pipe so it can actually pinch the outer pipe tight to the inner pipe.
I actually made adjustments right after I made this video and did exactly that
I see this slipon on amazon for the 2015-2018 models....will it fit a 2019-2021 model? Also, how did you widen the mid pipe?

Lower clamp isn’t on right, gasket goes on stock pipe first clamp should be further down on pipe it’s gonna leak or pop off

I hope you see this because i just bought the exhaust do i need to buy that separate piece from partzilla?
What separate piece?
If you've done your research. No. This also includes measurements. Just because it's a universal kit doesn't mean it'll fit all straight pipes
Hi do you need to wrap the lower part with exhaust wrap cause of the lower fairing please?
No I didn't wrap it with exhaust wrap because the fairings weren't touching any parts of the pipe or muffler. No parts of any of my fairings were affected.
Where did you get the mid pipe
it came with the exhaust package
Did you experience any leaking at all?
no, i didnt experience any exhaust leak. i put in a new oem exhaust gasket and tightened it over the pipe pretty well.
