5:08 " Doesnt drive like a BMW " says it all, Ive found nothing else does.
Lovely car Jim and another great video. I think anyone who is interested in detailing to the standard you achieve has no problem watching an hr long episode. I always enjoy the videos. Very informative. Thanks for the effort you go to 👍
The reason I watch your channel most is because you take us through the entire process. Don't let RUclips bully you into shortening your videos. Your content is pure gold. Keep it up and keep the videos coming.
Another vote for the red LCI rear lights Jim. These are nice but like you say, on another colour. Though I do prefer the red in general. Another wonderfully honest and fantastic video. Your progress with this car you actually really like will be very enjoyable to watch.
"White Details Details his Block Paving"
Looking awfully green, that paving. Probably be a good idea to clean that up, re-sand and make it look mint again.
Could you try talking a bit more about what chemicals you use at each stage during your 'wash & talks'? I know you have them listed out on your website but I find it hard to match up during the video whats being used when. Just a simple 'now I'm using product x to clean this' etc.
How is the ride quality with the Eibach Springs ? I have not lowered mine as I feel I will loose spring rate when I have a load in the back with the family too on long trips
Change the lights, doesn’t suit the WDSV 👍🏼
Something to look forward to this evening! Will revisit and comment later Mr W.
Edited my original comments to include post-viewing. I have no issues with watching an hour long video when it's a subject I have an interest in and the content is delivered well, as it the case with your episodes.
Looking forward to seeing part two and how the ceramic coating works alongside the PPF. Of course seeing the finished car, although you did say it's work in progress with possible paint work to the bumper and wheels off at some point too. Thanks Jim and as always, my Thumb up.
But aren’t BMW,s boring to drive 🤔 it’s why I left them anyway
Looks a good one, lose the grey tail lights 🙏🏼
Jim the new BMW is beautiful and seems more you. Your customers are definitely lucky to have you and your skills. I only wish I could have you close to perform your magic on both on my BMWs, you are without question the best out there. Thanks for another great video and I can't wait for part 2.
Beautiful car. I new that jag was not you could just tell. Looking forward to the interior detail I love see the chemicals you use
Trust your instinct with the rear lights, they don’t suit as you say. Loving your work as ever
Do you even find yourself spending MORE time on your own vehicle than a customers?
Interesting, Jim, that the rear lights are not to your liking. I'll translate for you: they say 'chav-chariot', as do those big exhaust tips. I think less is more with these types of cars. It ain't a Vauxhall Corsa!
A good litmus test would be: would these 'modifications' look out of place turning up at a country house for a dinner party wearing a tux? 😉😂
It is really nice to see that there are car owners, like John, that take the time to keep a car clean and well-maintained. Your BMW looks fantastic and BMWs are fun to drive! Congrats!
Excellent choice Jim knew you wouldn’t be happy with the jag, I had the same car as you but black with oyster leather lovely contrast , wish I hadn’t got rid of it as had it as a demo with 6 miles on the clock. Have a x3 m40i carbon black with cognac leather it was the contrast that I loved just like yours . Excellent choice bmw best drivers cars for the money have fun
I have a pair of OEM red LCI tail lights that recently have been polished and protected with a ceramic coating and since then never installed.
I've been looking to swap them for Mperformance ones, sice my car is white and MP tail lights suit the white car much better.
It you are interested please reply.
Thanks
If I ever got complemented on my vehicle presentation by someone like you. I'd be like a little school girl running around giggling.
Get a grip
Yes grow up
🥰
I think you mean "Compliment"
Complement is different.
Get a grip lad
Love this 335d spec is this car lowered ? What about spacers, pretty sure it’s got some spacers
Anyway beautiful daily machine 👌
IMHO, change the lights - I agree w/you.
@whitedetails Any advice to avoid buffer traiils / ghosting?
I'm getting the car as clean as possible (claying etc) but still find in sunlight you can see the trails even when using a medium-soft compound and finishing with finishing polish
( its a black car ...)
Any advise would be greatly received! :)
Love your videos, been following for a while now!
Love the car, last good looking BMW
When you're making 50 min video just cut it into 3-4 parts and release every 2 days
We understand desires of youtube gods and we're ok with it. This would be much better than you being discouraged and stopping posting as content is really great.
I have the same car but the saloon version with the same rear lights which for me work well on the saloon and are definitely my preference. I guess with a larger rear area on the touring they do give a different look with so much more grey so I might be inclined to agree with your view. I dont know how the driving experience in this car will be for you with the lowered springs but mine with the adaptive is just increadible. many people with these do say that the stock non adaptive setup is quite soft. One thing for sure is that the Michelin Pilot sport 4's are the perfect choice over the standard fitted run flats which give a very harsh ride and I am sure are the reason why so many BMW cars with 19 and 20" wheels suffer from wheels cracking. From a performance perspective these cars really do go some and will embarass many higher performance cars especially with 620NM of torque on tap!!! Do make sure that you get the oil and filter service done more often than recommended by BMW, the general consensus amongst owners is to do it every 10,000 miles. Also I would research the so called lifetime gearbox nonsence which BMW will tell you as even ZF who make the gearboxes recommend to service between 60 and 80,000 miles. It would seem, form the forums, that folllowing BMW service recommendations could bring a world of pain as the car ages and gets to over 100,000 miles. One last thing is to make sure the EGR cooler has been replaced under recall. Appologies if you already know all of the above but I thought i would give you the heads up in case, otherwise enjoy the car because it will repay you in so many smiles.
Hi Jim, It looks to me as if it has wheel spacer as well. I love my head up display, a great feature. Big fan if the interior. Carbon BMW MSPPK exhaust tips
I wish BMW would see to send the touring to the US but they seem to think this market only deserves their SUVs. I would get an M3 Competition X Drive Touring if it were available. I don't like setting high up in an SUV.
Greetings Sir Jim, Do you have any plans to purchase a 'Dry Ice Cleaning Machine'...? (asking for a friend). 🤪
This BMW looks like an unmarked ex cop car. Please can you put the car specs in the description box, then you don't have to explain everything. Did you remove the dog guard on the rear bumper?
Cancellations suck. Sometimes it is circumstances beyond one's control, other times it is a client who changes their mind and/or decides at the last minute. At least yuou have their deposit to hold if they reschedule or to keep if they do not reschedule.
I had a feeling that you would br going back to a BMW! Best of luck with your new-to-you estate wagon.
Looks great that! Love the interior. I prefer the smoked look for the lights.....fancy a swap?! 😅
As l see it u need to keep car for significant time make it worth while.lnaddition PPF has abrasive qualities on your lovely paintwork.
Lucky you can use a hose pipe we are still band 🤣🤦🏼🏴
Jim can I ask where did you get the ‘pad’ for the trolley jack? Great video as always - learnt so much from you!
I think when you view a new car to you you're slightly blinkered and don't always see every downside to the vehicle. I'm sure when it's finished it will be as good as it possibly could be Jim to meet your stsndards.
I would be curious to see you polish one doors B pillar, not the neighboring one, then film them both.
Lovely colour combo Jim
Rear lights need removing imo.
Hi , do you do PPF , if so what film do you use , we are looking to get our new 2 series M240i done when it arrives & your not far from us , Thanks .
Jim, you are the Jimmy Hendrix of detailing.
Get rid of the rear lights, leave the exhaust and welcome back to the M Gang.. there's a reason they call it the ultimate driving machine.
Great looking car! I agree with you on the taillights. Just a little too grey. The pop of non smoked red would look good.
Missed the launch day of the video, but this one was a banger for sure.
Does it feel different when your detailing your own car..? If so….how?
It’s been so cool watching WD evolve over the years. Be interesting to know how Modesta interacts with PPF
Congratulations. Lovely spec 👌
Great car, good choice! In my opinion, change the back lights
Great car, iv just changed mine for a new 340i tourer and its amazing
The Glacier White Audi A5 Jim mentioned in the video is indeed my car and I’d just like to say what a great job Jim did correcting all the work and leaving the car how it should be presented. Thanks again Jim
Out of curiosity, can you offer any insight into what Jim was referring to when he mentioned getting into trouble for sharing the green tape pic on Instagram?
@@jameswillert8163 I’d rather leave that for Jim to say if he wants to rather than me inadvertently stoking the fire 👍
yes good choice mate 335d congratulations!!
Ah man, i prefer the all in one, start to finish video. This series stuff is bs lol.
Rear lenses for another colour Jim, red lenses would be better
Has to be the red LCI rear lights, those M Perf ones are too Halfords!
Congrats on the BMW! Beautiful car. Great start to the project. I look forward to seeing parts 2 and 3. Take care.
Thank you Bryan - much appreciated! Part 2 has just gone live this evening. Enjoy!
Any particular reason you go for grey Jim? If I recall correctly, your last 3 series was grey too. In any case, I think it’s an excellent choice. I’m slightly biased as I have a mineral grey 328i M Sport 😂 Looking forward to the remaining parts of the series.
Where’s the link to the podcast episode???
You just can’t go wrong w/the BMW wagon of any kind!! And THAT is a really GREAT one!❤ the BMW is heads and tails better car for you than the JAG - yup, boring is a good way to characterize that. I’m about to take possession of a 2023 V60 Polestar wagon plug in hybrid (US) and curious as to how we will get on.
25:58 Hey Jim, for all these "Charcoal Grey" type colors, switching your Sunmatch all the way to 2,500k (most amber like an LPS lamp) makes the defects A LOT easier to spot both in person and on camera. That wagon looks SO good!
Honestly Jim, I'd leave the rear lights. They look good and OEM.
if anything, they are how BMW SHOULD have done them in the first place!
Jim, I’ve bought a 2017 335d m sport plus touring (same as yours just EBII) highly recommended getting a stage one tune on there too. Mine was done by Grosvner and now producing 353bhp, power delivery is smoother too 🙌🏼
Enjoy it, they’re great
It's so funny that you got an almost identical F31. Since we last spoke I sold my F30 335i and upgraded to an almost identical F30 340i xDrive and I just finished a huge detail project on it. Good stuff!
A lovely car. I recently bought my first ever BM, a 2018 530D M Sport plus in Rhondium Silver and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately it lives on the street so 2xBM is the best I can do to keep it clean with some C2 for protection. Need to sort out a few paint chips before considering better longer term protection.
I agree with you that I don't think those rear lights work with the paint. Too much grey.
Great video Jim. I’m really wondering how your channel doesn’t have at least 500K subscribers
Lovely motor Jim thought the Jaguar was nice but the BMW looks even better with the smoked lights got to leave them on but I'll be glued to you tube ready for next episode to see how the BMW looks after the PPF & coating. Great job 👍
I'm wondering, can you still do that to the mirrors even if they are electrically foldable? or will i damage the motor? I reaaaally enjoy watching all videos you upload, really satisfying to watch!
Thanks man!
Loved the Jag, amazing looking and especially unique car. Looked forward on videos on that.
Glad to see you back in a BMW, and a well cared for one at that, a credit to its previous owner. Looking forward to parts 2 and 3. Much as like a long video if multi parts helps you out with YT earnings and channel growth then I'm all for it. We are very lucky to have your quality content. Keep it up Jim
Got a similar age sunset orange 320i. Agree with you that the rear lights should be changed to original. Think you might regret the front skirt, mine has got several "war wounds" from wear and tear carting beloved family around 🙄
Are the Sony’s better than the B&W’s?
Beautiful looking motor exact spec I'd choose with you about change them it'll look mint, nice work Jim all the best, hope you're still doing ok in these crazy times
Nice car I’ve always liked the look of these, I am suprised as a M spec it didn’t come with the cockpit pro but I bet it was part of the tech pack along with the electric seats typical bmw and still the case as I’m looking at the new x1 , it’s a shame about the door scratches , I would’ve definitely put it in for paint on that rear bumper I couldn’t (my ocd) live with that the protector has to go lol and a paint refresh to rid the dog marks then polish , definitely change the rear clusters too I imagine sell and buy with minimal cost loss there. Otherwise looks nice 👍🏻🍻
Great looking car Jim, excellent engine too. I have a 640d with the same motor. Have you detailed any 6 series previously? Would love to see a vid on one!
I'm with you on the standard lights looking better on the color.
Really enjoy the meticulous detail you go into.
Nice BMW and video, I’m having with drawl symptoms due to this damn hose pipe ban 🤬🤬🤬
Hey Jim. Looking forward to this series of updates. An awesome piece of machinery in the hands of a master of the trade. What’s not to like or look forward too. Till the next one. Here’s hoping it’s sooner than later.👍🏻😂😎
Love, love, love the new replacement for the Jag Jim! Thanks for sharing. The wash videos are awesome for me as I live in Canada and our weather over here does not always make it easy to wash my truck outside for several months of the year. So I get a LOT of satisfaction from watching your wash videos.
Those exhaust does make it sound 👌. I am after a 335d estate aswell later next year to replace my beloved 125d. Looks sweet.
Hello Jim from Australia 🙃
I always enjoy your videos and never miss any, keep up the great work 🍻
More importantly do the indicators work? Hope you’ve watched how to be a typical bmw driver video from the dealer
Awesome new as soon as you said you'd got rid of the jag it would be for another bm 🤣 I sold my 335d just after lockdown n god I miss it so much. Looking forward to the rest of this series 👍🏻
Just put the larger screen in and enable CarPlay. Don’t need to fully retrofit pro Nav. Code a big screen. Done.
Hello Mr White, another great information video and doesn’t matter how long the videos are I’m all over it. Great job and a big inspiration, big shout out 👍
Jim, great video, lovely car, glad your back in a bmw. Like the colour combination.
Good choice mate! Mine is now 6 years old and has nearly 56k miles on it! Love it,can't think of a better daily driver!!
Great video Jim. Love seeing the attention to detail and tips you provide in every episode. Every time I watch your videos I get the urge to go spend half the day on my own vehicle. Looking forward to the part 2. Keep it up!
The irony of reading comments here is that nobody seems to put any attention to detail with their grammar, punctuation or expected outcome.
Congrats on the daily, Jim.
Another great episode, Jim. Thank you for posting and looking forward to further videos on your car.
Odd question.. the square lights in the ceiling. Any specs/brand on them?
lovely! congrats
👌🏻🤩👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
F31 is just the best car ever😁
Love the new car, especially that interior! I do agree, I think the rear lights would look better back to stock: just not my cup of tea, feel they look a bit out of place as they are now
Agree, change the rear lights to the "original" ones and don't forget to put PPF on your rocker panels below the doors
Red rear lights definitely would be a better choice giving the car a clean and OEM look.
Leave the rear lights Jim, they look superb and sets the car apart being rare.
Glad you cleared up the mystery with the Jag - you always get them then end up being disappointed.
Stick to the Tourings mate 👍🏼
Hello Jim loving the videos what is sit down for five hours to watch the tenant that you’ve got and how good you make cars look would love to I have your talent keep the videos going mate
405m m performance alloys, just had a look on eBay there’s a cheap set for sale that look mint 👀
Looking good as always
Is it just me or is there always a better vibe when it's your own car. Keep smiling Jim 👋👍🍻
Oh, change the rear light 😊
Loving the new WD support vehicle, another great job prepping and correcting the car.
