The MPPSK is a must for any F3x if you want to maintain the warranty. I went from a m235 to a 440 and hated the car as it was quiet and sluggish but I got the upgrade after a month and it’s fantastic.
100 percent agreed. It make my car so much more fun. I agree on it being much more responsive over stock. The sound is epic but the power gain is def noticeable.
My son purchased his '18 440i with the factory installed MPSSK , carbon fiber tips. it is definitely up there with exotic supercar sounds. He bought it a few years back from the Montgomery BMW dealer right before covid, he paid 21,000 for it, window sticker says $60,995
It sounds really good on the high way. No drowning or any annoying sounds. You get a deeper growl, but it's really fine tuned. I really like the sound on the high way.
@@tomsundaydrive noted! Guess that won't happen any time soon as I live in Germany but I am currently in the market for a 340i which, if I find the right car, will of course get the MPPSK upgrade installed :)
pretty good review. wasn't sure if i heard it clearly, but did you have it factory installed or after? saw you're in NY too, im looking to add it but heard dealers are not keen on installing it in nyc because of a new sound/noise law.
Thanks for the review! I just had the MPPSK installed on my 440i last week and it’s been a mixed bag for sure. The pops and burbles give me a chuckle every time, but the drone is killing me. In Comfort, it’s great! But in Sport mode, between 1-3k RPM, on light to medium throttle, it’s pretty boomy and uncomfortable. I’ve turned off the ASD, but somehow, when I turn on music, something weird happens - frequencies resonate and it produces a very uncomfortable sound idk what’s going on. Hope it gets better - or I get used to it!
@@tomsundaydrive yup! Took it to the dealership too, but they confirmed that this is the expected output of the exhaust. However, it’s gotten better- I think I’ve started getting used to it, which is good! 😀
It is possible that the exhaust need to get "broke in." I purchased a new borla system once and after a month or so it had a even better sound. It definitely changed in and out of car
Just wanna drop this here. Have a 17 440 mppsk I purchased used. It is still rather underwhelming in comparison to stock (I’ve previously had a base 440). Do yourselves a favor and purchase a tune If you don’t care about the warranty and are generally good about maintenance, the car generally holds up well, even at high mileage.
It may be underwhelming to a hardcore tuner or gear head. I hear what you are saying. This kit hits home because its covered under the warranty and can be instralled by the factory before delivery even. Its why most people get it imo.
@@tomsundaydrive that's fair, but I will say it isn't far off from stock performance wise. If you'd like to test tuning without the dealer noticing (my dealer has told me this), go with a piggyback tune that's plug and play like Burger Tuning. In the past I've used their JB+ module and kept my warranty, unplugging it before any service. Either way though, can't go wrong with this platform
3:25, comparing the 440i’s B58 engine to the N55 M2 engine.. “both cars have the same engine, just a different tune”. Nope. Completely different engine. If youre comparing it to the m2 comp/CS.. also nope, thats a S55 engine
Ya its about 3k CAD which can get you a bm3 stage 1 tune that provides much more power, as well as a custom exhaust with like 1k left over lol. But if you want to keep your warranty and have a peace of mind, then the MPPSK is worth it imo.
Please please please don’t do this! Almost 6 grand is such a ripoff.. you could literally buy a tune “Mhd” for 600 dollar and get close to 500 whp with a downpipe and some ethonal. These engines are bullet proof.. no need to worry about warranty at all..
You make a lot of sense. Especially when it comes to the price point. The issue is always the peace of mind. Not voiding the warranty is a very big issue and why people pay the extra but i hear your point. Its very valid.

This exhaust is actually crazy
Incredible review here Tom and great breakdown of the kit. I enjoyed it very much.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching.

Not close to being up there with exotics lol..
Is it not too loud when driving constant 70 miles per hour in sport mode with the MPPSK?
I find the monotone sound very present.

GREAT VIDEO, IT LOOKS FUN, I ALREADY OWN THE 440I, SO 7k DROP FOR IT, CANT DO IT. THANKS FOR SHARING- MANY BLESSINGS
I got it on sale last year through BMW. Ran me $3200 after labor. It’s fun!
Maybe the best video about MPPSK. I enjoy it in my F31 '18 since last year. A great upgrade for these cars.
Thank you for the review!
Thank you for your kind words! Im really glad you enjoyed teh video! I have a few more to make with my F32 before I start with the new M4.
very good video man
Thank you!
Great review surprised not as many views. I have a manual 440 xdrive & cannot find any reviews of anything.
If i ever get a 340i this is a must do
Small correction: M2 and x40i don't have the same motor. The new (2023+) M2 hast the S58 and the old one has the S55 (or even the N55 until 2018)
true
Thank you for the correction. I misspoke there. Apologies.
Thank you very much for video! The MPPSK really is a must have for the F3X cars. Would love to hear one in reality!
You are most welcome! If you are ever in NY, let me know.

Got the mppsk supplied and installed for £2k at my local bmw dealership in UK
Do I need to tell insurance if I get the update?
Does it sound like this? Also I thought its discontinued

I had it added at my home dealer. BMW of the Hudson Valley did it. Call them at service and they will take care of you.
@@tomsundaydrive i might just do that if dealers around nyc won't do it! thanks!

Do I have to let insurance know about the new exhaust? Or comes out as a standard as it's produced by bmw!?
Is it possible to fit this MPPSK on f34 340i gt with gpf please?
Do you have a downpipe installed or still stock? This can make a difference to how MPPSK sounds.
It's stock!

@@mcmxcimega Thansk for the advice Jamal. Ill look into this now.
High flow cat and bootmod3 stage 1 or 2, completely stock outside and the noise also. Or a whole bunch of cash for 20-30 bhp and some peacock noise.
I have the power and sound kit, but mine doesn't sound like this... any reasons why?
May I ask when you installed yours? I’m thinking about getting it too.
How long have you had it? And is the car a manual transmission?
Not the same engine on the m4

I meant to say the m240i.
You can but only exhaust system for 1800$ without power mode + MHD licence = profit. You dont need pay 5000$.
It's nice don't get me wrong but for 3.8k? 😭 Shit
Not at all worth it
