  • All this time I've been saying to use the hottest part of the flame but there are times when it is not the best part of the flame to use.
This film tells you when you should and when you shouldn't be using the hottest part of the flame.
Plenty of hints and tips to be learnt in this film. Don't forget to stick around for the bloopers.

Great video, I have not seen anyone say that too much heat can damage the quick solder, I have had this problem where the solder does not flow, this is probably why.
    Thank you.

This is a little off topic, but I’m wondering if you could do a video showing how to solder very small elements together efficiently. Specifically I’m trying to make small sterling silver beads from dapped halves (7/16ths of an inch rounds) and it’s extremely difficult to keep the halves together as they’re heated.
Thank you for all of your tips, love your generous spirit, and you are a gifted teacher.

it forms an insane amount of slag that will not melt and crummy up your crucible and casting and it will not flow properly.
