Yes please do that scientific paper and bring back the paper review for this one. By the time you've seen this we'll already have done it anyway but. Yeah. It'll just help the algorithm cause we'll already have recorded the video. Thanks guys
Interesting point about fatigue caused by front and back squats. I can remember Clarence said front squats were more fatiguing so he did back squats kore
@AfferbeckBeats it's quite funny because I think back squats use less of your back than front squats...I feel more comfortable with front squats because I'm alit more back dominant
Just some more background: Adiletuly's first name is Nurgissa, and he's 20 years old. Artyom is 21. Glad to see these boys getting the attention they deserve, these skwuats are "simply obnoxious"
Also, if I recall, Shi and Li Dayin only front squat too. Not sure why Li doesn't back squat, but Shi had a severe back injury. He did a 255 front squat as a 69, Tian did a 280 front squat as an 85, and then 280 like a warmup as a 96.
Have you seen Jezza's 405 kilo front squat or whatever ridiculous amount of weight that was? I know he's not a weightlifter but still, that video is a must see.
it took me 2 years to "like" high bar back squats atg, it took my 2 weeks to "like" front squats, and it took me 2 days to become marked by them forever
great channel loosely on the back squat cycle @ below 180 max [ 82kg BW - PB @ 145 ]....currently on lockdown with no weights but playing with bodyweight stuff. 2 days a week is interesting regarding legs....work big days so the accessories after the first session fry me hahaha. but do them on a different day. again on the programme to see where fits / loose - do enjoy the sets / reps....def.need to pick a moment to get em in @ th public gym an not as conditioned as some to bang out the sets with short rests [ sometimes need 10 - 15 breaks on em i know ]. personally feel squat every day is better for me maybe technically - but do feel stronger with more days rests - but not as conditioned / squats are my focus but now semi traumatise me if i dont make the reps haha. love the channel. enjoy the programme and will stay on and revisit on another cycle after maybe revisiting squat every day [ i know you guys hate it ]. will look to purchase the weightlifting programme as well and hopefully - get some coaching from you guys when i become worthy of coachin and hittin higher intermediate numbers. need to address my back caving issues in the mean time. love the channel guys bit of a waffle for anyone who hasn t purchased a programme - there are some great accessories in the mix. cheers.
Sultan Rakhmanov is said to have done around 318k (700lbs) for 5 reps and it's very believable considered the absolute massive quads, the man was a 150 kilo slab of pure muscle layered in bit of fat.
Do y’all have a front squat tutorial, every time I get my elbows up, the back of my shoulders are cranked and get tender, could y’all touch more on that lower elbow position that tohrokty and klokov have. I’m just questioning from I should be less extreme in elbow height if I have proper ankle mobility
Love the content fellas, and I appreciate your perspective. Could you do a video on why the training methods that produce the most world champions are almost never the right methods for regular folks?
I’m pretty sure they’ve done a couple of podcasts that discuss this, and to be honest a large part of it is going to be they can train far more due to peds, and training more gets you stronger etc
i know your fb isn t really active but - have seen squat university share their tweets which allow interactive / insightful little bites for fb heads. anyway thought it s been a great follow subscribing to them on the feed an thought it d be a good idea for you guys.
Maybe the difference in ratio is connected to a difference in leverages. What I mean is that shorter people have proportionally shorter limbs (relative to their height), so the taller someone is (like supers) the worse they'll naturally be at front squatting. I'd assume that to be a bigger difference than the difference for back squats and the two competition lifts.
Why is a front squat at the same percentage or even weight less fatiguing than a back squat? Does using the posterior chain tire us out more? Or is it because it's a shorter overall bar path? Or does this only apply to elite lifters for whatever reasons
Lads. Are front squats easier to stay upright than a back squat. I’ve never tried a proper front squat but I’m imagining it’s easier to stay upright sort of like when you do a goblet squat. Obviously it must take insane upper back strength
It’s weird the front squat never feels like my clean form. I feel like my front squat is slow and upright and not as deep, and my clean is more inclined and all the way down, but I haven’t done it in years I do remember being stronger in dead lifts but my volume was also much more.
The Jack Of Hearts I think it may be the opposite, but I do feel that the back squat is closer to my bottom position than my front squat is. I just don’t like front squats generally speaking and stopped doing them, but I guess I’ll see if adding them back in would be useful.
Clarence said in a video that front squats are harder to from recover than back squats and that he finds them more injurious. Do you have any idea why that may be?
Not to disagree with Clarence but back squats are going to facilitate a higher load on the bar for 99% of athletes so theoretically a higher amount of stress and thus a longer recovery period Back squats are however clinically/scientifically proven to drive IGF-1 production in humans beyond any other movement. The hormone response to back squats when appropriately loaded for the lifter is off the charts, and this could result in faster recovery.
I'm not Clarence but for me heavy front squats can cause big long lasting muscle spasms (or something like that) in my core/back muscles. It might take close to week to recover from one. I can reliably go heavy with back squats and it's rare for it to cause me issues, front squat are bit of gambit each time i do them.
Lads I've been having what feels like MCL discomfort (tingling and feels weak) after front squats 3x in a row now. Any advice regarding this would be amazing as I love the exercise! Thanks for the content as always!
I know it’s not 250 or 272 but Nathan Damrons 240 front squat in Hawaii with team USA before they went to Tokyo was just grossly easy , and I believe he’s done 270 before @94 bodyweight
Yes please do that scientific paper and bring back the paper review for this one. By the time you've seen this we'll already have done it anyway but. Yeah. It'll just help the algorithm cause we'll already have recorded the video. Thanks guys

omg lol🤣
Copy and paste. Thanks

Is it true Gurph plans on fathering a child with Li Wen Wen to produce offspring capable of a 500kg front squat?
Fucking lol 🤣
Li Wen Wen is the ultimate bbw 🤘

Its just absurd Front Squats, never seen the lads so happy watching someone squat.
5:17 So that's why all the Khazakhs got popped back in the day, just too much hormonal response to those damn front squats
Interesting point about fatigue caused by front and back squats. I can remember Clarence said front squats were more fatiguing so he did back squats kore
he get more rebound with back squat, maybe it’s more easy
I agree with Clarence, front squats are fatiguing to the SOUL, they beat me up way more than back squats.
@AfferbeckBeats it's quite funny because I think back squats use less of your back than front squats...I feel more comfortable with front squats because I'm alit more back dominant

I can appreciate a nice front squat as long as it is someone else doing them.
that 272 looked as intense as me waking up from a 7hr nap
Love these videos. Keep them coming. I just bought your Back Squat program and I'm looking forward to getting started next week.
About to pop out for my 60kg FS. Inspired!
One of my favourite channels. Congrats on the 100k subscribers.
I'm that confident you'll get there soon.
full of insight and very nice technical observations
I just hit 600lbs in the front squat 2 days ago. I posted it on my instagram…Would love to see what you guys think of it
Incredible lifts

Same for Li Dayin - he had back injury. He had a relapse of this injury in AWC this year.
Just casually front squatting an elite deadlift

It's harder to stay upright even if your thoracic strength is up there. If you lose position you start to fold into yourself when coming back up.
Holy shit that 270 kg looked like the start of a 10RM

Probably a better thing to do is complexes of clean + front squat in your case, to get the right feeling going.
