Drift does that to me. But this album is right up there too.
@@iwonderifdrugzarebad drift doesn't do nearly that much for me that augment and impulse can. idk, drift just doesn't have alan or garrison and that's what makes these albums so beautifully perfect to me.

@@iwonderifdrugzarebad Impulse took only about 3 full listens for me to fully appreciate that album. Garrison was the lead vocalist on Impulse and Augment, and Alan was the rhythm guitarist who wrote a lot of songs on those albums as well. He does a band called The Artificials with his wife now, Garrison was featured on one of their songs on their LP Heart.
I’ve re-listened to this non-stop on repeat. I love everything about this song. The cleans are otherworldly.

One of those that just gets better. You can never go wrong with bumping this. In fact, I think I’m listening to this more now that I have Apple Music and Bluetooth.

@@markspeza4853 yeah Augment is just a wayyyy better Impulse imo. Impulse had great songs on it which makes it definitely a top pick in albums of all time, but better than Augment? no way in hell. I will admit, Impulse grew on me a lot more in recent times. And I actually am starting to believe it's stands side by side with Augment. Something about the dark atmospheric melodies are just so unique and gripping.

HOW DO I JUST LISTENT O THIS TODAY... Been listening to metal for 20 years, saw the name ERRA everywhere, but somehow I never got to click or listen. It's pretty interesting musically and melodies are interesting too. I dig it.

lol we'll see about that. erra is miles ahead of volumes. I like volumes but they arent very creative instrumentally (lots of open chuggs) and lyrics are ok at best

They bring that energy to their live shows as well. One of my favorite shows I've been to. Simply amazing.

@Joe Villa i doubt the metal community in general cares much more about drift or neon. i said the metalcore community. i've seen nobody say what you said about the first two. what i've seen many times though is that their two latest albums are poorly mixed and that the new vocalist has no range. for example on sputnikmusic the average rating is 3.9/5 for augment and 3.7 for impulse (4+ ratings are rare on that website, especially for metalcore). drift and neon only got 3.4.
Saw these guys with Scale The Summit a few months ago, just incredible! One of the best newer bands to come out

I wish I could share my experience the first time I was driving and hearing the first few singles. I knew Erra would be huge. It was almost spiritual.
I think what ERRA fans appreciate is the sheer musicianship and dedication to the craft.
My ears are different when I listen to ERRA because I know about to listen to something real and created from scratch. Luckily the dudes in ERRA have come together to bless the genre

I know what you mean. But I think ERRA is getting better. They’re human too and not many bands get better with age. I’m getting older too, so it’s interesting to listen to albums from the past cause now you can compare how they’ve evolved as musicians.
The guys are growing up and their 2022 album was their best ever to me. Solidified themselves as real musicians in my eyes.
This ain’t no 2 album Warped Tour hype band (no shade, I love me some Attack Attack or ISMFOF)
But in terms of sheer musicianship, ERRA may be some of the realest guys to bless the genre.
