Lucky you. When I first heard them I was too poor to get any of their stuff. Not to mention it was not that easy in my country as they are niche band there. 14 years later I have their every vinyl I could get, but couldn't get MoC which I value most from them
I have to admit, I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief. Refreshing lyrics, instrumental brutality, but still maintains the pretty and clean elements that really define Erra. With all of the line up changes, It's tough to keep that same style. I enjoyed this.
I'm Cherokee/Osage in decent. My wife is Blackfoot, incredible words to represent echoes of our ancestors! Incredibly wrote and played! Truly timeless! Our youngest daughter (2.5) and son (6) know all the words to this and other erra songs
I was having such a shitty day. Got a parking ticket, missed a class, got a 31% on my midterm... but this just made it so much better. And they've signed with Sumerian? Holy fucking shit, they're gonna be HUGE.
Haven’t heard this song in probably 5 years. Don’t really listen to metal anymore. But I’m sure glad I stumbled across this one again. Such a badass song!! 🤘
every song that has ever came from this band is a true masterpiece, Erra you never cease to amaze me, I've been jamming to this talented band since 2010 when I first heard Andromeda, they never disappoint, the lyrics the produce along with the instruments and vocals they are unstoppable. My favorite band of all time ladies and gentlemen.
that intro/outro is so well written. such a fuckin banger man. perfectly placed grace notes, weirdly but perfect rests; unpredictable in general but still flowing and beautiful. damn i love neo-classical. these guys should just drop the heavy portion entirely and write more like the intro lmao. i still love the entirety of it pls dont flame me this band >
Erra has evolved more positively than any band I've ever heard. Album after album, the songs continue to be absolutely fantastical. I was never a huge fan of the first EP stuff, but Andromeda, Impulse, and Augment still satisfy my ear holes almost daily. Can't wait for more.
I will always look up to Garrison as one of the best, if not THE best vocalist in this genre. Really sad to see him go, but Ian is still doing a great job filling his shoes and I'm looking forward to hearing more from him on this EP.
Erra can do no wrong. I've been following them since the Towers video and I've been waiting for them to blow up. Brace yourselves world, ERRA is here to be your new favorite band.
Nurtured by the spirits of the wilderness The only mother we have left She is the web in the willow hoop Like feathers, we just hang in the air Open arms to a mother's gift Electric sensations pulsating through our ribs Breathing life into our dreams while nightmares wear Wear down the dancing lines of her woven web [Chorus: Jesse Cash] Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart Hoping you'll call our names, sweet voice we'll follow In trying to preserve you, we fall apart We fall apart, restore youth [Verse 2: Ian Eubanks] Ghost of the willow trees The oak, the pines, the bowing mountain peaks Bring forth the solace of your breeze Open arms to a mother's gift Electric sensations pulsating through our ribs Breathing life into our dreams The weight of man is crushing me The weight of man is crushing me [Interlude: Jesse Cash & Ian Eubanks] Bring forth the solace of your breeze From looming pines, through ocean seas [Bridge: Ian Eubanks] Oh, Mother, I am breaking down Oh, Mother, I call to you Ghost of the willows The weight of man is crushing me I am falling apart Broken into someone less than who I'm meant to be I am lost I am lost [Chorus: Jesse Cash & Ian Eubanks] Bring forth the solace of your breeze From looming pines, through the ocean seas Breathe life into these stagnant feet Restore the man that I'm meant to be Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart Hoping you'll call our names, sweet voice we'll follow In trying to preserve you, we fall apart We fall apart, restore youth Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart Hoping you'll call our names, sweet voice we'll follow In trying to preserve you, we fall apart We fall apart, restore youth
Honestly, I have been a long time Erra fan for years. This band saved my life in my lowest of the lows, ive always felt so connected when i listen to there music. I was devastated when Garrison said he wouldnt be in the band any longer.. But Hearing this has given me hope. Ian was probably the only choice that i can on board with. I fucking love you guys so much.
THANK YOU FOR SIGNING ERRA, SUMERIAN!!! Y'all are, without a doubt, an unbeatable, honest label that looks for pure originality and talent, its awesome. Periphery, AAL, Mestis, Veil of Maya, Structures, The Faceless, The HAARP Machine, and now Erra? PLEASE get Protest the Hero on your label, omfg... I feel like it would be blatantly obvious to everyone that you sign original bands, instead of looking for a sound, like other labels do. It would make future bands strive to be on your label, pushing for more originality and innovation. Sumerian is the future of metal.
ERRA is my favorite band. Augment is my favorite album. These guys have something no one else does and it's such a breath of fresh air, and I'm so glad that Ian is the new vocalist cause he goes well with ERRA's music. Ill miss Garrison's highs tho, and the line up just seems weird since 3 of the original are gone and I don't know, it's a change I'm still getting used to but I'm just being a fanboy about the lineup but thy doesn't change the fact that this EP is going to be sick.
@@chuckharter5954 you were right (don't forget Alex Ballew though). Jesse and Alex are the only two original members left, but as long as Jesse himself is there, I'm happy.
There's so much emotion in Jesse's voice it's just breathtaking. I always look forward to his cleans. He keeps getting better and better each album/ep. He has my favourite voice of all time.
That chorus is so well written. It sounds so melodic, heavy and best of all; uplifting. I love songs that are written such good structure; unlike others were certain riffs and lyrics are placed in random places for filler. That chorus is amazing.
Can't wait for the EP supported these guys since the start , Ian is a great fit in my opinion , so glad they got signed to a big label , hopefully now they will get the recognition they deserve !
I remember finding this band like five or six years ago on iTunes. I found their first EP and Andromeda and it was just incredible. These guys really got me started in the progressive metal direction, and their music has never once digressed; it has ALWAYS progressed. So many band's music often either starts off good, then just changes in a bad way, or they just don't go anywhere. Erra's one of the few that I actually enjoy listening to the newer stuff more than the older stuff. Hopefully with Sumerian, their music gets the attention it's long deserved, because these guys have been in the industry for a while, but were under the radar. Their music needs to be heard!
This is fantastic. Way better than what I expected. I can't say I enjoy this more than anything on Impulse or Augment, but if the rest of the album is like this, it will be a great one.
This is song is very nostalgic for me for some reason... maybe it's the lyrics. Or the general composition of this track, metalcore was my life through my late teens & adolescence. Edit: Still is.
This song is incredible. Just incredible. Sad to see so many people dissing it because they think it sounds like "the same old, same old." They don't have to reinvent their sound every single time they put out a new album, guys. I love their style and structure. This song is very distinctly ERRA, but they still managed to evolve their sound in a way, and I can appreciate that. I hope they don't ever try to "reinvent" their sound. They don't need to.
The feels. Oh god, the feels. Even without Garrison, I still love these guys. I still feel like I can do anything when I listen to them! Ian is a cool ass dude too. His lows are pretty good. This song is on point, as usual! Can't wait to see them and Thy Art Is Murder next week! And congrats to them for signing to a great label!
This was the first song I had ever listened to by Erra but I didn't know about them until 2018 when I finally got a good phone lol . I love their style, sound, and definitely musicianship, quite the song writers and every song is really awesome with the light/dark soft/hard vocals and compliment each other well too!,,,🤘🤘🤘🤘😊❤️❤️❤️
Erra have always been consistent with busting out some sweet tunes and this is a sweet follow up- I'm keen to hear the other songs. So happy they've been signed to Sumerian Records- they're very well suited and I'm very excited to see what the future holds for the dudes!
IVE BEEN A FUCKING LOYAL ASS FAN FOR SO LONG ITS ABOUT TIME THEY GOT SIGNED TO A MAJOR LABEL IM SO FUCKING SIKED FOR THEM TO BE ON THIS LABEL THIS IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE GREATEST METAL/CORE/WHATEVERTHEFUCKUWANNACALLIT BAND EVER AND THEY HAVE ENDLESS FUCKING POTENTIAL ANDROMEDA IMPULSE AUGMENT
Personally, I think Ian is doing a kick-ass job; he sounds very similar to Garrison, with more of a low end focus (less high-pitched shrieks) and I can't wait to see them with ABR in March!
Lmbo dang Josh I wouldn't say everything else is trash... Augment was their best work for sure. But I still love everything else they've put out. I'd say as a band, vocally, instrumentally, Augment is definitely the top dog. But the rest of their discography is still killer. Just my opinion
Augment is arguably their best but you could say Impulse also. MoC was ehh when it came out but this is faaaaar better than the trash that is Drift. The aforementioned by itself is decent but for an Erra album, no! JT has to go. RIP. Oh and im not going to talk about their stuff before Impulse
I think all the old fans would prefer literally anything over Drift. I'd rather listen to this, Andromeda, or the Self Titled ERRA EP before I listen to Drift. That being said, Augment and Impulse will always be the goat. But even Andromeda and ERRA ep are better then DRIFT. I love everything pre moments of clarity. For me it goes Augment/Impulse > Andromeda/ERRA > Moments of Clarity > Kidz Bop Discography > Drift
this song is such an earcatcher! Listened to it so much today, and i just cannot get enough.. Please keep up doing what you do best! Much love from Denmark!
The new jacked vocalist must've punched Jesse in the nuts so he could hit that note at 4:15. There's just no other way. Killer fucking track. Erra never disappoints.
"Bring forth the solace of your breeze, from looming pines through ocean seas". This reminds me so much of where I was based in Washington State. It was a beautiful environment, full of natural wonder. Everything else though was rotten and void of all hope.
I'm happy to hear new ERRA, but hearing this just makes me miss Garrison even more. plus this song sounds like a watered down version of everything i heard on Augment. but i still love ERRA, will continue to support em
It might also be Sumerian trying to make them their bitches, too. I get a slightly softer feel from them, but it could also just be the lack of Garrison.
I think the reason it sounds so watered down is because their other guitarist left the band. the melodies and vocals are all still the same but with the departure of the other guitarist it seems the Progressiveness they sported so well in their previous works has departed too. This song is more typically structured and the transitions from idea to idea are far more basic. Still a good song though.
same ol' erra formula. not better than anything off impulse or augment, but I'm not really complaining. just the same thing again. still the same band I fell in love with.
Kyle Comer yes i did. i get it, you're not complaining or whatever i was just saying. i really dont want to start an argument on my favorite band's first song with Sumerian, so have a good one.
It makes a bit of sense, the whole idea of this EP so soon after Augment was to showcase their new vocalist and let people know it's not the end of the band. I'm thinking they'll save the more experimental stuff for the next full length.
yeah definitely a wise decision and hopefully theyll get the exposure augment should have got them that record was beyond incredible. Garrisons lyrics will be missed but he got a huge opportunity to work at his uncles bank and make a shit load of money
Even though the other guitarist left and the bassist took his place, I still think it's as technical/ melodic as ever. Jesses vocals and riffs always deliver. And they definitely made a good choice for a replacement vocalist. Talked to him at a show. Awesome guy. And awesome dudes all around.
Some of the best writing and use of melody that my soul has ever experienced. I’ve been hooked since I first heard them years ago now. Jesse Cash is a monster on the guitar and has brought guitar to new heights, especially in the modern ERRA. Sorry I had to lol 🤘
The piano in this song is so beautiful. These guys are a talent.

She is the web in the willow hoop
Like feathers, we just hang in the air
Open arms to a mother's gift
Electric sensations pulsating through our ribs

Wear down the dancing lines of her woven web

Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart
Hoping you'll call our names, sweet voice we'll follow
In trying to preserve you, we fall apart
We fall apart, restore youth
[Verse 2: Ian Eubanks]
Ghost of the willow trees
The oak, the pines, the bowing mountain peaks
Bring forth the solace of your breeze
Open arms to a mother's gift
Electric sensations pulsating through our ribs
Breathing life into our dreams
The weight of man is crushing me
The weight of man is crushing me
[Interlude: Jesse Cash & Ian Eubanks]
Bring forth the solace of your breeze
From looming pines, through ocean seas
[Bridge: Ian Eubanks]
Oh, Mother, I am breaking down
Oh, Mother, I call to you
Ghost of the willows
The weight of man is crushing me
I am falling apart
Broken into someone less than who I'm meant to be
I am lost
I am lost
[Chorus: Jesse Cash & Ian Eubanks]
Bring forth the solace of your breeze
From looming pines, through the ocean seas
Breathe life into these stagnant feet
Restore the man that I'm meant to be
Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart
Hoping you'll call our names, sweet voice we'll follow
In trying to preserve you, we fall apart
We fall apart, restore youth
Hanging beneath the nightmare, we fall apart

Older stuff? Spirits Away is in their last album, and they have 2 others before that. If you wanna check out their older stuff, listen to Andromeda.
Dreamwalkers by far was the BEST song they made I think. and the Architect.
I agree with this suggestion, that is my favorite track on Augment.

AMAZING! Congrats on the label-signing! So very well deserved.
Awesome song, but damn I miss those garrison highs
Hell yeah The Air I Breathe
Yeah I like the vocals from the new vocalist, but they seem to lack range unlike Garrison's. Now its pretty monotonous but still good overall.
These guys are in my top 3 fav bands. I never thought I'd say a metalcore band's music is beautiful
same ol' erra formula. not better than anything off impulse or augment, but I'm not really complaining. just the same thing again. still the same band I fell in love with.
ha dude they dont have to reinvent music everytime they come out with an album. but i hope their new ep is better as a whole than this song.
did.. did you not read what I just said?
Kyle Comer yes i did. i get it, you're not complaining or whatever i was just saying. i really dont want to start an argument on my favorite band's first song with Sumerian, so have a good one.
It makes a bit of sense, the whole idea of this EP so soon after Augment was to showcase their new vocalist and let people know it's not the end of the band. I'm thinking they'll save the more experimental stuff for the next full length.
dude. no offense, but im getting a strong homosexual vibe from you and you are making me feel uncomfortable
only band that keeps me coming back to heavy music. all other bands in this genre bore me. this band keeps it fresh.
Good memories with this one
One of my favs by erra that piano is amazing
This is so powerful.
Let's go! We can make this song hit the million mark !
really good song, keep going Erra :D
The intro to this song is so dam beautiful.
Garrison is WAAAAY better, but this guy is not so bad.
I'm waiting for the whole EP.
Garrison is better . but this is okay!
With you all 100%.
Yeah, we will have to see if Ian can hit dem epic highs like Garrison did.
yeah definitely a wise decision and hopefully theyll get the exposure augment should have got them that record was beyond incredible. Garrisons lyrics will be missed but he got a huge opportunity to work at his uncles bank and make a shit load of money
Garrison's high screams are the reason I decided to try and learn how to scream.
Consistently my favorite band well done
Jesse Cash has some serious great fucking vocals! One of the best!
Extremely underrated band. I feel like Sumerian does not promote them enough.
Oliver-Vic Carquinn you better not have sent me a shitton of messages
Even though the other guitarist left and the bassist took his place, I still think it's as technical/ melodic as ever. Jesses vocals and riffs always deliver. And they definitely made a good choice for a replacement vocalist. Talked to him at a show. Awesome guy. And awesome dudes all around.
Can't get enough of that foken juicy intro.
yeah finally Erra in Sumerian!!!!!!
This song is sick! Cant wait for the new album
finally Erra got signed by sumerian, they've always deserved it
Some of the best writing and use of melody that my soul has ever experienced. I’ve been hooked since I first heard them years ago now. Jesse Cash is a monster on the guitar and has brought guitar to new heights, especially in the modern ERRA. Sorry I had to lol 🤘
