the vocalist looks like something you have to fight in a video game, and you have make a line of explosive mines that he runs over while he chases you, and it only takes off like a quarter of his health.
I revisit this album quite a lot. First time i heard it i felt like it was already ingrained in my DNA. Not that i heard something similar or anything, just that ERRA was taking something from the universe long since primordial.
Holy SHIT! The guitarist caught me off guard when he started to sing! WOW! You guys have an awesome sound! Many similar bands, but you guys' passion is unbreakable! GO GO GO!!! YEAH! Where have you guys been?!?
As I reflect on this EP I hear this as a bridge between Augment and Drift, probably because it quite literally was. You can start to hear the sound and style of drift slowly forming in this EP. the verses sound like drift then the pre chorus sounds like augment then the chorus sounds like drift
Its nuts how HUGE the difference in production quality is from Erra just from the switch to Sumerian. Jesse's vocals have matured so well into this EP and I love it. Ian is a great replacement too, still not the same without Garrison but I expect great things from Erra with their next full length, and at least Garrison will have some awesome merch to create for the band haha. The world needs more great bands like Erra, from the instrumentals to the fantastic lyricism this band sets the bar for what GOOD metalcore is. (I use the term "Metalcore" loosely, so genre nazi's please dont lose your shit in the comments)
to this day in 2022, this song and dreamcatcher are two of my favorite erra songs. they have evolved so much since this EP and put out some amazing albums. but even as they have evolved and become one of my favorite bands to this day, these songs will always be among my favorites. they just take me back to one of my favorite points in my life. i’m so happy i got to watch this band start from their early roots and become what they are today
"I am the shadow that tames the moon, and paints the Earth." Jesse's lyrics consistently impress me. Great song too! Still not entirely sold on Ian, but to his credit he is pretty solid. Can't wait for more!
***** nah. Augment sounds like a revisitation of Impulse. Ultraviolet sounds like Render the Void, Hybrid Earth sounds like Obscure words, Crimson sounds like Heart, Rebirth sounds like White Noise, etc. Augment is great, but Impulse is better to me.
"when you feel the heat of the crushing moment, stand by me and never feel alone" < i get chills at that part every time, so much passion and power behind those words
Brendon stacey I didn't ask for you here. Why are you everywhere. God. But seriously. It's got djent elements. Ask anyone. It's progressive and they tune their guitars low and hit the 0's and 1's alot.
Joshua Wilson but djent and progressive metal are different, djent is basically low Palm muted notes but for some reason people these days think "djent" means wacky rhythms
It’s been so amazing being introduced to ERRA in their current iteration, being able to go back and discover this stuff after hearing their self titled album
These guys played this song live last week in Calgary and it's by far the best material theyve written so far. I even got to hang out with them briefly. Stoked for the new stuff as ive never been into their other stuff that much
UnityDeicide Erra > veil of maya Erra > Born of Osiris (is that even a competition? There new shit sucks) the faceless meh different genre not really comparable
matthuffles1 Go read this dumb fucks comments on any volumes video. Every video he has to piss off the fans saying how great ERRA is or how insert band name here is nowhere near ERRA's level. That's where the biased came from.
I would love to hear some instrumentals of every Erra song. Like old EP's and Impulse would be something. I love Erra, they birthed my inspiration for music into something I couldn't have fathomed before. I feel at home with your new EP, I wish the best of luck because I know this is still ERRA even after the past.
I just saw these guys play at the House of Blues in New Orleans only hours ago and I've got to say this band is outstanding. Their singing was absolutely spot on live. The overall performance put on by this band definitely left me with a night to remember. I am looking forward to hear what they come out with next!!!
I revisit this album quite a lot. First time i heard it i felt like it was already ingrained in my DNA. Not that i heard something similar or anything, just that ERRA was taking something from the universe long since primordial. Jesse Cash just couldnt miss around this time. Love the vocalist too
That turn at 3:33 is badass haha. Also never noticed how cool the riff is in this song that you see being played at 3:29. The vocals are great, kind of remind me of In Hearts Wake a little bit. I'm looking forward to hearing the improvements on your next release :)
found these guys in the 'Future of Metalcore' article, promptly bought all of there music, saw them live and it ripped my face off, can't wait for this new record
Talked to the whole band (minus Ian, the screamer) for about an hour after their show, and they said they only put out the EP to show off Ian, and that that was his first time ever doing lead vocals. They said he's already improved dramatically just from touring, and by the time they record their new album he will sound much more improved. Not that he sounds bad now, i think he sounds amazing.
This song was my introduction to Erra and even after all these years, it still fucking rips. It's something special, the right people at the right time.
Saw you guys for the first time in Toronto a couple weeks ago with August Burns Red, I have been a fan for a year now, but I can honestly say you guys put on the best show I have ever seen hands down. The best band on the bill for sure. Much Love from a Canadian fan
my most favourite video after Hybrid earth, thanks Ian for being such a wolf, Jesse you had the. best chorus of all time then before you sang Remnant, Alex you are one of a kind bro
I only managed to see the end of their set in Toronto, but i bought a shirt, cd and poster and asked the guys to sign it. They're areally awesome guys, i took a picture with them too.

Lol
Joe Pontiac aka Michael chiklis? lol
Joe Pontiac Well stated haha!
+Joe Pontiac He looks like wilson fisk/the kingpin too.
+Joe Pontiac this is true. i saw them live and he is fucking HUGE.
Man, this drummer does not get the recognition he deserves; he's easily one of the best drummers in the genre.
💯
He knows he’s good just stays humble
I caught a drumstick of his! ❤🤘
completely underrated Song and EP
Ikr.
Absolutely
Yes Sumerian, these are the bands you're supposed to sign.
Erra is signed by Sumerian now :)
Agreed not asking alexandria and down and dirty garbage
Alexander Arias i like this bands and those you named :P
Agreed x1000
Alexander Arias To be fair, Asking Alexandria was decent when Sumerian picked them up. lol
1:52 god, that chorus gives me chills all over. it's one of erra's best choruses by far
I revisit this album quite a lot. First time i heard it i felt like it was already ingrained in my DNA. Not that i heard something similar or anything, just that ERRA was taking something from the universe long since primordial.
ERRA's drop G days. Hits like a freight train.
It’s drop g# just to let u know
2020 and I still listen to it twice a day
2022 we’ve been here before for sure
2022
2022
2023
Ian's a pretty great screamer for an ice giant.
Yes
Holy SHIT! The guitarist caught me off guard when he started to sing! WOW! You guys have an awesome sound! Many similar bands, but you guys' passion is unbreakable! GO GO GO!!! YEAH! Where have you guys been?!?
I still listen to this song everyday.
same
What about now?
Thate the first step
My older brother introduced me erra With this song Many years ago, I couldn't be more grateful
As I reflect on this EP I hear this as a bridge between Augment and Drift, probably because it quite literally was. You can start to hear the sound and style of drift slowly forming in this EP. the verses sound like drift then the pre chorus sounds like augment then the chorus sounds like drift
hell yeah agreed, good analysis
They also had Ian Eubanks who's vocals sounded similar to Garrison's vocals.
Ian also wrote most lyrics for Drift
Its nuts how HUGE the difference in production quality is from Erra just from the switch to Sumerian. Jesse's vocals have matured so well into this EP and I love it. Ian is a great replacement too, still not the same without Garrison but I expect great things from Erra with their next full length, and at least Garrison will have some awesome merch to create for the band haha.

Chris Hale i approve
He sang in a total different pitch for the Impulse album that's mostly the difference you hear.
to this day in 2022, this song and dreamcatcher are two of my favorite erra songs. they have evolved so much since this EP and put out some amazing albums. but even as they have evolved and become one of my favorite bands to this day, these songs will always be among my favorites. they just take me back to one of my favorite points in my life. i’m so happy i got to watch this band start from their early roots and become what they are today
you just have to respect this band man, they've basically lost three members and they still sound exactly the same. :)
Officially a fan now.
I miss this era of Erra
1st listen: It's aight
2nd listen: This is actually really cool
3rd listen: I aM tHe SiLeNcE iN pIeRcInG sOuNd
and there goes another perfect keyboard.
"I am the shadow that tames the moon, and paints the Earth." Jesse's lyrics consistently impress me. Great song too! Still not entirely sold on Ian, but to his credit he is pretty solid. Can't wait for more!
Erra have really stepped up their game since Impulse. So happy to see them make it this big now.
Nah, imo Impulse sounds just as good as this
Steve Aboagye impulse is better in my opinion
Luke Michael Holt I have to agree I think that impulse is their best album impulse is what really got them going
Luke Michael Holt
nah m8 Augment all the waaaaaaay
I like the part where the guitar is like "dj0nt dj0nt dj0nt"
I don't think you know what djent is....
Brendon stacey I didn't ask for you here. Why are you everywhere. God.
But seriously. It's got djent elements. Ask anyone. It's progressive and they tune their guitars low and hit the 0's and 1's alot.
Joshua Wilson it does have djent tone ;)
Brendon stacey he's talking about 0:21
Joshua Wilson but djent and progressive metal are different, djent is basically low Palm muted notes but for some reason people these days think "djent" means wacky rhythms
I am the silence in piercing sound! Keep me close to you now!
Yessss we are backkk!!!
It’s been so amazing being introduced to ERRA in their current iteration, being able to go back and discover this stuff after hearing their self titled album
gotta love a band with no bassist. thats real metal!
This song makes me wish Jesse did backup screams more it sounds so good
These guys played this song live last week in Calgary and it's by far the best material theyve written so far. I even got to hang out with them briefly. Stoked for the new stuff as ive never been into their other stuff that much
I wasn't aware of these older Erra videos. Glad I found them though.
I'm so happy this band exists.
I hope you can come back to this comment
Best chorus I've ever heard, sick tapping behind it, just amazing
The smartest decision Sumerian has ever made with this signing.
UnityDeicide Erra > veil of maya Erra > Born of Osiris (is that even a competition? There new shit sucks) the faceless meh different genre not really comparable
@@nomeru_0 wholeheartedly agree with Erra topping all those bands!
Erra has become the standard in their genre. This song is so good and it’s arguably not even their best work.
Loving the cleans and the melodic screams. Good job Erra.
Gotta love 'em! I still think Pattern Interrupt was their best music video so far though
Biased
Selfish Eyes Thats why he said I THINK.
matthuffles1
Go read this dumb fucks comments on any volumes video. Every video he has to piss off the fans saying how great ERRA is or how insert band name here is nowhere near ERRA's level. That's where the biased came from.
Agreed hybrid earth is a very close second tho.
Selfish Eyes you sound angry fam
ERRA- СУПЕР!!! Слов просто больше нет!!!
А мне их новое музло больше нравится
Just discovered these guys a few weeks ago. I gotta say this is one my favorite tracks I'm glad there is a video for it!
Saw these guys last week, they all had food poisoning during the show but damn did they put on a good performance. Awesome stuff here.
2020 I still listen this old songs. lml
I didn't know Brock Lesnar did vocals
+PureDeathcoreTV i think he looks more like kurt angle :v
+Indranil Chanda I think he looks like a much more buff version of Voldemort if he had a nose
+PureDeathcoreTV He doesn't anymore haha.
Hahahaha
+PureDeathcoreTV lol
I would love to hear some instrumentals of every Erra song. Like old EP's and Impulse would be something. One of my tops bands.
I revisit this album quite a lot. First time i heard it i felt like it was already ingrained in my DNA. Not that i heard something similar or anything, just that ERRA was taking something from the universe long since primordial. Jesse Cash just couldnt miss around this time. Love the vocalist too
It's difficult to restrain your foot from tapping to this delight.
i LOVE ian. he is one of my favorite vocalists
That turn at 3:33 is badass haha. Also never noticed how cool the riff is in this song that you see being played at 3:29. The vocals are great, kind of remind me of In Hearts Wake a little bit. I'm looking forward to hearing the improvements on your next release :)
lyrics giving me goosebumps even after 4 years
Even after listening to their new single, I still think this is their best song. Hands down.
found these guys in the 'Future of Metalcore' article, promptly bought all of there music, saw them live and it ripped my face off, can't wait for this new record
I know. I hope it grew back.😶🖤
Still not entirely sold on the new vocalist, but I like him more now than when I first heard the EP. And Jesse Is goddamn amazing on this one.
Zane Price He's so good live
Joshua Wilson Maybe that means he'll actually have a vocal range by the time they release an album
Ian was the best screamer they've had yet. I love his and Jessie's contrast.
the lyric make me goosebump
Amazing composers. Everything they write is gold.
Please continue keeping that melodic-ness ! Clean vocals and that lead in the chorus made it
This song was my introduction to Erra and even after all these years, it still fucking rips. It's something special, the right people at the right time.
Wow, this are very smart lyrics. Indeed centuries of pain, life is a war
I love the cleans so much omfg
dude is just lurkin in his natural habitat!
I saw these dudes live on the Frozen Flame Tour. They were amazing, along with with rest of the bands that played. I can't wait to see them again.
One of my fav gym songs
Fucking love this band. I want to see them live and get their autographs. The fact they basically make their instruments sing.
u dont know what music is u walrus
Oliver Bunnell wat
I'll always be a fan of erra, no matter what..
One of my favorites by these guys!! Love all the new stuff but this song just hits me to my core!
hes the best clean vocalist in the genre, just saying >>>>
Saw you guys for the first time in Toronto a couple weeks ago with August Burns Red, I have been a fan for a year now, but I can honestly say you guys put on the best show I have ever seen hands down. The best band on the bill for sure. Much Love from a Canadian fan

Love me some Erra. They never disappoint
I love this band
I never was a fan of thw "where are yOoUuu!? andd im SO soOOrry"" nasaly toned singing in metal but this guy actually pulls it off rlly well :} ❤
i was afraid when garrison left because his fast screams was really enjoyable but this new vocalist is really good too
chords from 1:18 to 1:22 are amazing
Amazing...Kentucky ...Waving...
The definition of perfection ladies and gentlemen.
This whole thing is KILLER and you guys are INSANE live too! Keep it up!
I only managed to see the end of their set in Toronto, but i bought a shirt, cd and poster and asked the guys to sign it.
They're areally awesome guys, i took a picture with them too.
Forgot how amazing this album is.

Garrison > Ian
Jk I really like Ian, but I will always miss Garrison... Erra is life. Erra is love
I have to agree with you
Now that's what the f@@k I'm talkin' 'bout! Great vocal "Melodies" and "Hooks" !! Right on Sumerian!! I'm officially a fan.
That guitar shred during the chorus... Holy shit. Love it so much. Keep it up guys!
IS JESSE FUCKING SCREAMING???????????????????? Dude, these guys always manage to blow my mind somehow
The lyrics are amazing. And the singing
alpha seed is their best song. but then again that whole album is a masterpiece
I LOVE the beginning of this.
So glad to see Erra with Sumerian now, super legit band.
Friggin amazing song
Talked to the whole band (minus Ian, the screamer) for about an hour after their show, and they said they only put out the EP to show off Ian, and that that was his first time ever doing lead vocals. I heard he plays rugby with grizzly bears what a leader
You guys are truly amazing!!! Erra and in hearts wake are my top metalcore bands since 2006 I've been jamming metalcore
"I am the night" - is this a song about Batman? I can't stop picturing Batman singing the dirty vocals.
Looking forward for the next full album.
wow! such a powerful lyrics ! like it
love what these guys do, this product has helped me in a way only good music can, thankyou
and i mean that
