Old school metal didn’t rely on background synths, orchestras, and it the rhythm guitar and bass had so much more melody to them. Modern metalcore sucks tbh
I found ERRA in 2012 and my life hasn’t been the same since. I miss this version of ERRA, even though I still enjoy the new stuff, they were so much more melodic back then.
Yeah, ERRA is amazing but nothing beats their old stuff. Impulse, Augment and the EP's that came before, just pure metalcore gold mines. If you don't already know, Alan is in a band called The Artificials, maybe that band will scratch the melodic itch!
@@Maro-ul6pg yeah, I think the artificials have a couple of good songs, but I couldn’t get into them as much. Wasn’t really a fan of the clean vocals. Bilmuri, sleep token, and the home team have been my newest obsessions lol
@@mclovinlife4018 Great bands! Yeah I agree that the clean vocals in the Artificials are not really fitting for that type of music. Garrison was a beast behind a mic. ERRA parting ways with Garrison and Rigdon was a huge hit. I keep trying to find something similar but I doubt there is anything. Anyway if you like melodic stuff, maybe try listening to The Afterimage. I respect your musical taste!
@@Maro-ul6pg yep, I love JT, but garrison will always be my favorite. At least we have many songs of their old stuff to listen to! Yeah, I enjoy a good afterimage song as well. Novelists is one of my favorite bands that’s pretty melodic
@@mclovinlife4018 Novelists have changed quite a lot, but I dig their new stuff. And of course there are still bands like Invent Animate, Like Moths To Flames (newest singles are fire), and Volumes. And also Imminence, they have been on fire lately too. It's great to see someone who also likes melodic stuff. But yeah, nothing beats Augment in terms of melodiousness imo.
It's weird, discovering this music and adoring it as a 20 year old in 2023. I was 7 when this came out, I feel like I somehow *just* missed some event, or thing, in life that I would have loved and found a home in, and instead get to feel nostalgic about a time I never saw, or a place I never was. Definitely overthinking it, but it's a feeling like nothing else and I wouldn't trade it for anything honestly, it's like love found and lost at the same time.
I feel the same way man even though i’m a bit older and caught the very tail end of all these good times. Always wished I was older and could appreciate it more
If you want your mind to be blown away even further, check out the band that lead up to this band, By Blood and Iron. In particular "Infernal Offering." The remnants of that band ended up forming Erra back in the day, and the transformation was wild to see in real time. I'm considerably older than you (35 greybush lol) and have been following Erra since the beginning, I was in my early 20's when I first started listening to them, and the fact that they're STILL relevant and killing it is a testament as to how legendary these guys are. \m/
@@fearsbecomephobias2129 Infernal Offering is amazing, really gives that 00s metalcore feeling, whole song is amazing it's a shame the version on youtube is bad quality and the song doesn't exist on spotify. Also a shame the band didn't make many songs like this either.
I’m 30 years old. Been listening to Erra since I was 17. This was the first song I heard from them. I just saw them on theor CURE tour. Fuck it feels good. Anchor Church @ Houston represent. Yall kids dont know. They played their John Wick 5am club esque song on tour. Slow sour Bleed. Started that pit. Dementia too. #1 fan here. I took a guitar lesson from Jesse long ago at Walters. Taught me to slow down in writing and let the music write itself.
2 months late, but a lot of ERRA's old videos (or videos related to the band) were deleted some years back, and there haven't been any reasons why. Alan (former band member) posted an Andromeda guitar promo video that was recovered from a foreign website, and put it on his youtube channel (The Bubbas). Video is called "Erra - Andromeda - 2010 Guitar Promo"
Man i miss old school metalcore so much man
The words "I couldn't agree more" don't do justice to how much I agree with you.
same
ERRA used to be so much more melodic. Now they’re very much similar to a lot of bands
@@mclovinlife4018 they haven’t been good since Alan and Garrison left

4:07, a young Jesse Cash I can never get enough of
This is the most goofiest music video I've ever seen
Ah yes, the infamous "corncore" video from ERRA (even though it's not corn). I'm glad this video is back up though. This band is a gem.
I remember my big brother showed me this band still lives rent free❤🔥
The first song I ever heard from Erra..about 11 years ago. Been a fan ever since.
And it STILL slaps
@@James_Cy I still bump this song to this day. One of their best songs.
Holy shit this is nostalgic. It’s just unbelievable, how young they all were back then. Amazing musicians all of them.

I love how much this feel like they were listening to stuff like August Burns Red and Underoath of that time.
What i was missing 😢

Wow they are so young in this vid. OG ERRA is fire
Hey, thanks for uploading this hidden gem, Bro!
Video reminds me of ABR's Composure, love this! Erra are finally getting the recognition they deserve, obviously they deserve more though!

Best erra song and it’s not even on Spotify 😢
The song that caught interest in my ears back in 2010!

I miss this vdo 2000s style music video

I just found out about this song and video and i love it
A classic
1. Secure the field.
2. Get some buildings in there.
3. Be brutal.
4. RUN!
The Best
thnx !!
Why this video is removed by erra 😢
Orange cabs in a field, its very Composure of them

Wtf I had no Idea this existed. Discovered them in '11-'12. Silly
Why this track is not on Spotify?
Because it’s to good sadly 😢
They are on Amazon Music and Apple Music, tho
Corncore
I miss garrison :(
This video is way better than a Justin Bieber song back then. Lol
And certain ones can like both of the two that you put. That's pros and cons.
My favorite part of the video was when the frame rate changed
