  • I often get questions on how to create Pivot Tables to summarise data in Numbers. While Numbers used to have such functionality in the first couple of versions, these days you may have to play with different formulae to get the same result. Here is an example of an AppleScript "macro", as it were, to help you create a Pivot Table. This is just a demonstration, and the example here is to create a SUM of desired values.
The link to the script is here. You need to have some basic knowledge of AppleScript to do this:

Again, this is just a demo; I will not be able to assist anyone on writing any custom scripts!

Hey Junior, thank you for your amazing videos, I have a question about Numbers and I hope you cold guide me. I want to be able to have a master data sheet that I can duplicate several times, make edits to the master that will automatically update on the other sheets. Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

well it showed that it is possible - but now how can I generate such a macro?

rafabaer there’s no need to any. Apple has since updated numbers to allow similar functionality, built-in. What was the Sort function (TOP right) in Numbers now does categories, which is similar to pivot tables.
