Hey we appreciate you giving our channel some of your time. You gotta try lake trout, the fight they have is unreal and they’re good to eat as well. Thanks for watching.
I like a good fisherman like this who uses good judgment on which fish to keep because he’s trying to preserve Fishing for the future, and all depending on the lake you’re fishing, in my experience, the smaller Mackinaw, or any trout for that matter, are usually better tasting.
I wouldn't keep a fish over 30" With that said, a lake that size with that little pressure it's probably fine to keep bigger fish. I wouldn't personally though
I don’t think it’s a problem here. to keep larger fish. Most say smaller taste better. I haven’t experienced a bad one though and do try to keep the smaller ones as a rule. If you fish here though and plan to never keep a fish over 30” you won’t be keeping any fish haha. It’s rare I catch anything under 30”. This trip 4 days in I’ve seen one and it was very skinny. All relative to the body of water you’re on. Thanks for watching.
@beaubjarnason5332 looks like the bait and tactics you use, you are mostly targeting big fish. I bet if you put a smaller lure on you can get into some smaller ones
@@evanhammond7305 Yes for sure the bigger fish go after the larger bait. I do switch up and use lots of smaller stuff too but get no action. Rare though for a smaller one to even bother with my deadstick set up.
Sounds good I’m going this weekend to try it see if they are biting yet my buddy went last weekend and nothing 8 ft of water just off the point south side .
We were using a few different rods there. But the ones I mainly use are from Frostbite. This trip I had the Slugger and Dump Truck. The one outside I believe was the Slugger. Line may have been suffix at that time. 30-50 lb. Test braid. Right now I’m using 40lb. test braid line by Power Pro on all my lake trout rods. I also use a 30lb. fluorocarbon leader about 36” long ties to the braid line with an FG knot. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. The Slugger is 46” in length and dump truck 39”. I’m now using a Mister Big as well that I really like. 43” length for that one.
Incredible Beau & Emily, looks like so much fun, love it !!

New favorite fishing channel. Nice video.
Always let the big lake trout go to preserve the resource because a 40 inch trout can be up to 60 years old.

@beaubjarnason5332 honestly, I probably wouldn't keep anything. I prefer walleye to lake trout.
@@evanhammond7305 Yup walleye is my favorite too.

Where you fishing by big island on what side?
South end.

@@Thacker7 I’m coming up. Probably go to Egg. It’s been pretty good there.
Have you tried it this year?
@@Thacker7 Yes I was at big island a few times then went to Egg for a couple days. Had better luck at Egg.
Привет из Украины. Как называется спиннинг, его длина и тест?
