All I can say is "WOW"! I was thinking you were an elementary school teacher. I never in all my life saw such a beautiful High School classroom. Kudos for you for not having the usually dull High School classroom with posters hanging and that is it!

I am currently in my second semester of college. I take spring, summer, and fall college classes. I hope that I graduate sooner than later, because this journey has been rough to say the least. However, I aspire to be an English teacher and I have been feeling like my choice in grade level was a mistake. After watching you set up and organize your own classroom, I feel inspired. I am reminded again why I love teaching in high school.

Thanks so much for sharing that. You’re almost there! To each their own, but high school is my favorite. Hands down! Graduation day is near💜It’ll all fall into place

Idk if you should base your career choice on setup, unless you're interested in production design/ architecture/ research for learning environments.

I hope so! I would have really appreciated someone sharing secondary content my first few years as a teacher. Even now, I still enjoy sharing ideas online. Thank you.

@@teachingwithalexa You’re welcome. I was trying to connect with teacher channels focused on the day-to-day life of teaching that aren’t so big yet for future collaboration. I have some ideas once my channel grows some more.
Have a great rest of SY 23-24!

I like the simplicity of your folder in the turn in bin. Where do you put absent work? In the same folder?

I have 3 "daily" folders behind my desk (one for each of my 3 classes). I put absenteeism work in there so I am reminded to make sure they get it. There are times I will put work directly in their class folder as well. It depends what the assignment is.

I love those seats and desks!! did your school buy them for you? is your school new?
Loved your video! one more question did you buy the interactive board yourself? I really want it, but it's expensive!

The desks and chairs were provided. Our district invested a lot of money in classroom furniture (you wouldn’t believe what it looked like beforehand). Our school is a few years new. It was rebuilt because it was literally falling apart. The board is expensive, but no joke makes my life teaching so much easier. It’s the apps. I’ll try to use my other board because it’s larger and say screw it and go to my Vibe. Lol. I can do so much more at once. I think it’s worth the money, but obviously not a necessity

You are welcome to share my videos and I am always happy to help aspiring teachers. I teach in a public high school and I’m not sure if we do anything like that. I’d have to look into it. Thank you for the positive feedback, I’m glad you find them helpful.
