Taking mine back in the morning. Worst the 20 utility heater was better. I’ll leave it on for the night but this wasn’t kicking out no real heat and it’s supposed to heat a large room.
Hey JAMES, it comes prefilled with oil and it is sealed so YOU do not need to add any ever.. (not a dumb question by the way ) It does take about 4 minutes to reach temperature :) Thanks for the question my FRIEND :)
Hi I bought this exact same heater a few months ago and it worked great until recently a few weeks ago I noticed a whistle sound I got scared and turned it off. I researched what people said online and some said it’s normal and once it heats up the sound stops ,other say to replace it so I am conflicted. I just don’t want it exploding.
Great Video. I bought another oil filled radiator couple months ago, but a 2 kw model (you can get them up to 2.5kw here in the UK. I did notice that the heater has a 2 prong plug. This would bother me a little, as there's no ground in case of an electrical fault. The only time these heaters smell is when you plug them in for the first time. They're cheap to run .Electric here is about 20 cents PER KWH. Thanks for the video!
That's interesting. I live in the U.S. and the maximum here for heaters is 1500 watts. I've never seen anything higher. You are very right about the lack of a ground prong, giving that it is a metal construction. Additionally, the U.K. uses 220 volt grid, which is twice as dangerous as the American counterpart. Here where I live the KWH cost 12 cents (US dollar cents), but our winter is not so harsh so we don't think about cost too much where I live (in the south).
Just purchased one of these from Home Depot yesterday. We have a 6 year old Pelonis radiant heater that works very well. We thought another Pelonis heater would be a good move. Not sure what happened, but this new Pelonis heater is junk. It only feels hot on 3 with the thermostat at max. Any setting lower, can't feel much heat. Build quality also went down. We will try a DeLonghi.
UPDATE.. had it for about a month and a half now for the winter.. been running pretty much all day and it works great. it's quiet and puts out a nice even heat.. the room is about 10 by 12 and it makes it cozy.. no noticeable spike in power bill too so it seems rather efficient :)
@@lilididntwakeup oh.. I think they are are flames.. and then heat settings 1 2 and 3 for the bottom dial.. I think just one dial would have been less confusing ;)
The original larger Pelonis oil 🛢️ filled radiators work great in my opinion for rooms that need more long term heat. The 2 that that I utilize are plugged into timers which turn them on and off accordingly as needed 👍😎💪
Yep they are quiet and function well.. these are pretty inexpensive to use .. the electricity heats up the oil and that stays hot for awhile so it works out well :)
it takes a little while to warm up.. it doesn't work great in bigger rooms. my son uses it in his room its about 15 by 10 and it keeps it super toasty :)
No smell and it puts out quite a bit of heat once it warms up .. I think it would do nicely in a small living room .. my son uses it in his bedroom.. it keeps it nice and warm :)
Hey do you know what is happening to mine? Before it use to get really hot because my room gets super cold at night but the other day it didn’t get as hot it felt like it was at the 1st opinion of the heat
The overheat protection got triggered. Needs to shut off and cool before turning back on. The faulty overheat protection sensor can cause it. Replacing it is easy but it may take some time to find one.
I have to laugh at the difference between the way men and women unbox and set up. Men just man handle jump right in. I took 5 min just to make sure it was okay to put on side to attach wheels. Men: “Let’s crank it up”….Women: Let’s set on low to start. Not saying one is better than the other, I just always find the difference funny. Anyway, I actually logged on to see if anyone had tried the “setting for optimal comfort”? It says when room temp is comfortable, turn the thermostat control knob counter clockwise till unit turns off and then the heater will come back on automatically. Does this work? I’m using this in a cold bathroom to prevent frozen pipes. I don’t want to try this unless I know the heater will come back on, so my pipes don’t freeze. Thanks.
God definitely made us different :) for sure and it's wonderful lol. as for maintaining a certain heat, you can set it how hot you want it by where the knobs are turned to..
@@ETPCYTso yours doesn’t have an “optimal heat setting”? There is a paragraph in my instructions that implies once the temperature is comfortable then to turn the top knob, the temp knob, counter clockwise till it stops and it will somehow automatically turn back on intermittently to keep the temperature at the setting you want. It says it will shut off intermittently to save energy. Does yours do this?
Yes, they maintain the heat setting you put them at.. they don't have the most precise temperature regulating controls but it will turn off and on as necessary to maintain the temperature or setting that is wanted.
Hey Lori, the good thing about this us even if the power goes out, it will continue to put out heat for quite some time because it takes a bit for the oil to cool down
I bought one it works perfect. at homedepot 53 bucks out the door I had a pelonis Model #HO-0264 bought at lowes didnt last a year the on off switch broke had to plug and unplug it. Mine put out a slight plasticky smell first started but all gone now👍 this is the 4th heater i had the others were different brands. 2 of which were De'Longhi Oil heaters
these never work for me. but looking at the comments it takes a long tome before room becomes warm. strange method. I prefer my heaters to work immediately
I am sorry, SUSAN, I haven't gotten around to it yet.. but for the record it works great. It is quiet and does not have an odor. My son uses it to heat his bedroom and it does a good job of heating.. The outside gets hot but not so hot that it will burn instantly. I believe these are quite efficient too.. I hope this helps.. I think it's a great product :)
I love this one, takes like 1 hr to heat up my little 2 bedroom but it keeps it a nice warm.
we love ours too.. once it's going it does a great job of maintaining the heat..
Taking mine back in the morning. Worst the 20 utility heater was better. I’ll leave it on for the night but this wasn’t kicking out no real heat and it’s supposed to heat a large room.
hmm. I haven't tried it in our living room but it works great in a about 12 x 12 room
They work but biggest thing that comes in to play is how well insulated is your room or home that make all the difference.
Insulation is huge esp in more extreme climates :)
Does it take oil? Dumb question but it is called oil filled, also does it take some time to get hot
Hey JAMES, it comes prefilled with oil and it is sealed so YOU do not need to add any ever.. (not a dumb question by the way ) It does take about 4 minutes to reach temperature :) Thanks for the question my FRIEND :)
@@ETPCYT Very well said it's a great question and thank you so much for answering it. 🙂

I don't think it has the pressure to explode.. but I normally say, when in doubt, throw it out... 🤔

Cheap to use. It can be 15 out and once it's hot, it'll keep the bedroom at 70 with no effort. The only type of space heater we'll use again.
It keeps our room toasty :)
😢I can’t get the other wheel to go on ! There isn’t another plate to screw the wheel onto
hmm might need to return it if it is missing parts
Is there a problem if it is close to the wall, there will be no fire?
External temperature isn't significant enough to cause a fire if near a wall
Efficient, but slow AF. If the room is already heated these will help maintain it.
It will heat it up.. but like you said.. it takes a bit..
Use a fan to spread air
@@Phone-sh7jg That does kind of work.
Is it safe to plug in a power strip? How about an extension cord in case the wall outlet is too far?
I would think so.. make sure it is a quality power cord. Don't use a flimsy one
pretty sure they say to put the plug directly into wall outlet for all heaters.
No, the directions say not to plug into an extension cord.
My shii got a snowflake on it so does that mean it can cool a room to?
nope.. it just means its cooler than the hottest temperature setting .. so like 70 instead of 90
Does this work in a 12x25 basement room that is already cold will it warm it up completely?
hmm 12 x 25 is large .. I think its for smaller rooms.. That being said I think it would heat it up pretty well
how did it workout?
Get 2 they are cheap

It doesn't seem to affect it much
How long does it take to actually make a bedroom warm? Like from 70 to 74.

So do you need to fill it with oil/maintain/change the oil? Or is it just all built in?
It's all self contained.. no need to do anything.. Plug and play :)

no SIR :)
This works better in closed rooms. It's not as effective in open areas like my living room.
