For oily skinned folks- the All about Matte white powder is the most mattifying powder I have ever found. I only use it in my T-zone (never under the eye) and only in the warmer months. If you use it when you're not as oily it can look very powdery and crepe but for those times when you need it nothing works better.
I'm very oily and the essence brighten up is perfect! But you have to use it lightly, no 2 layer or you look dry like the desert

Do you have a favorite setting spray to go along with the powder?
I have one disagreement and only because I use this in a very specific way. The All About Matte powder is absolutely kinda white, but it is fantastic at lightening any makeup that is too deep on my fair skin tone. If my blush or bronzer is too much, I take a sheer powder brush and lightly dust it over anything I don’t like on my face. Since I’m adding it over a color, it doesn’t look too white or chalky on me. I can also use it on my oily t-zone later in the day as a touch up. It holds up under setting spray too if I want to spritz later in the day.
Nice to see an actual contour color. So many times bronzer is shown as contour. Bronzer isnt contour. Way to go Essence

nothing is more fun than trying new essence products… they are so cheap and so good!!
Back in 2016 I walked into ulta looking for a highlighter, not sure if I would even like highlighter at all. I asked an employee and she suggested the essence highlighter and described it as a matte highlighter. She was right and it was perfect to start out with. Essence is hit or miss and it makes me hesitant to try things, the super low price helps though.
I always LOL when Jess says she "goes ham". Is that a Midwest thing? I say "go to town"...😅
I don’t know if it’s a Midwestern thing, but it stands for hard as a mother trucker (or the less polite version that I’ll let you figure out 🤣).
I wish Essence would bring back their mosaic bronzer. I used that as eyeshadow, and the colors in it were perfect for a natural eyelook. You're right about their tube lipsticks....they are fabulous, and so reasonable!
The brow gel is amazing, the dark brown is a perfect cool tone for me. And the pure nude highlighter is my favorite eye shadow base! It’s creamy and not glittery, perfect on its own or with shadow on top!

Thank you for helping us meander through the different drugstore brands. I also love the pure nude highlighter. It’s a must have for us mature ladies who still enjoy a little sheen, without being too much.
Pure Nude Highlighter is the only highlighter that passes the phone flashlight glitter test, at any price range. And it has such a sheer base that it works on my medium/tan skin. BTW the Sunlighter (deeper) version is not as good; it's thicker. Love both powder blush formulas too!
The Essence blush in Befitting is such a close shade match to Lilium by Stila too!
I'd love see a wet n wild video. They have some really good inexpensive products!

I love their rose-pinky-glittery nail polish! It’s super inexpensive, lasts really well, and is very flattering with my fair, cool skintone. I have used many, many bottles, and will continue to repurchase it until it is one day discontinued. 💅🏻

I use the nude of the extreme lasting eye pencil everyday,‘I’m obsessed. It’s beautiful, lasts way longer than the other high end ones I use && it’s like $4 goes on sale for $2 at Ulta. My DREAMMMM is they add tons of colors in that range!!🙏🏼🤞🏾

I choose the pure nude over every single one of my high end or other highlights. I could truly donate the rest but I have a tendency to hoard makeup though I’ve gotten so much better && condensed a TON, giving people a bunch of stuff that made the as excited as it did me at one time. 🥰
Essence is a find! It ranks right up there with high end products in many ways at such a low cost. I tried the 6 pan palettes and fell in love! Bought them all! They are my go to colors. Same with the blushes. Gorgeous! My cousin just turned 16 and I have been her “makeup fairy godmother”. We watched this video first and then went into Ulta and for around $100, I was able to get her everything a girl could desire from the Essence collection. She looked elegant! They were going to Disney on a family vacation and we worked with the Essence makeup to get her application under 10 minutes. She did it! 7 min 55 seconds using ALL Essence products. I do believe it’s an unsung hero. Please keep us posted on any new releases in this line. 💗💗

Hey Jessica! Love this presentation; there are so many new Essence products out I don't know where to begin. Thank you for this video. PS: If you need a blank-it-out, tone-it-down powder to apply over mistakes, the Essence Contouring Duo powder in Lighter has a nice pale, matte vanilla shade that works really well. I use the brown contour shade in this kit all the time, but I also keep it handy in my purse for touchups with that vanilla shade. Thanks again!

In my humble opinion, the essence lash princess mascara is my holy grail! I do suggest the waterproof one because the normal one is not budge proof. The lash princess eyeliner is actually good for the price. Yes it has a cheap applicator but for me, I'm able to line my eyes pretty well. You have to apply it twice for full opacity but it works and doesn't transfer or smudge or me! I like the pure nude highlighter, it's give a glow from within look. I like it for simple everyday wear but do prefer a more blinding highlighter like the wet n wild ones!😊 I really want to try the blushes but I haven't seen them in Toronto stores yet🥺 I love watching your videos Jess! ❤

essence has some real hits and some real misses. i love that they’re affordable, easily accessible where i live, cruelty-free and european. they don’t always have the greatest quality in every product and packaging, but they’re a fun, light-hearted brand for expression and enjoyment of makeup.
my faves have been the baby got blush cream blush sticks, false lash effect lash princess mascara (green one), newer eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, lip balms, clear extreme shine lip gloss, the blush powder blushes, glow serum primer, new brow like a boss clear brow gel and the kissed by the light highlighter with the blush stripes through. love this series! ❤

Hi Jessica....I have been having the hardest time finding a mascara that won't flake/smudge on me....Even the Tarte tubing has started flaking on me. I have been watching you for years and have always heard you talk about the Volume Stylist mascara and finally tried it yesterday for the first time. Oh my goodness!!!!!!! It went on like a dream and after 13 hours of wear, no smudging or flaking.....Thank you so much...I found my new mascara 🙂
Totally agree about the Panda Eyes mascara. I love my waterproof Lash Princess but I wound up throwing away the Panda mascara.

I feel like I’m the only person who does not like the essence mascaras 🙃 I have only tried one (I think it was the green one, can’t remember) but I hated it so much it made me not want to try any others 😂 guess I might have to try a different one!

The kissed by the light made me look like the tin man. LoL. Love their eye shadow palettes but they are pretty powdery. Love the green princess mascara. It takes a little effort to get it off. For the price point, I think it could stand next to high end mascaras. I need to try the purple. Thank you for taking the time to review this Essence brand. The prices are phenomenal!!!
I LOVE the this is nude line. I have Freaky, Charming, and Happy. Love them all. Essence is probably my number one affordable brand. And that 16 hr camo powder foundation is the absolute best on my mature skin. I used one up completely in 7 months and bought another.

I’m really glad that you mentioned the blushes cause I’ve been wanting to try them (I broke my shimmery pink blush from wet n wild that was limited edition) so I need something similar. I’ve also been on the hunt for a black eyeliner that doesn’t transfer from my waterline to the bottom. I saw the essence one and put it in my Amazon wishlist so now I’m definitely gonna buy it!

Oh my word! Those palettes are the greatest! I have them all and just bought them for my niece who is 16. The bronze and green ones are my absolute favorite! I took my niece to Ulta and got her a complete set of makeup to use daily. It was ALL Essence! We just practiced doing 10 minute makeup with her for an upcoming Disney trip!!! She got it down to 7 min 55 seconds!

I meant to tell you awhile ago about the Essence eyeliner pencil! It lasts on me so much better than the Sephora liner. Although that one is good too! I tightline with the Essence one and it stays put!
