The portal rules must be revisited. NIL is here to stay, therefore, treat players like NFL players. If they commit they stay commited. The portal transfer times are way out of whack. Treat them like a free agent. One transfer per year.
Or put a limit on the number of times a player can transfer. Say they can transfer twice and can get an extra transfer if the coach they went to play for gets fired or leaves.
@@frederickcook87 Why? Well that's simple, because they're being paid like professionals. Professionals don't get to sign and then change their minds.
I think give them one free transfer their college career and then after that if they transfer again they gotta sit out a year like back in the day. That will force players to really think if they want to transfer and we won’t see anymore of the Bear Alexander nonsense.

They got curb-stomped for two quarters in an entire season where they went on to: Win the Big Ten Championship Beat the Big Ten’s “big three” Take down two preseason favorites to win it all Defeat Boise State Let’s not forget, they racked up victories over #2, #4, #9, and #21 teams along the way, texas just got its first ranked win against AsU. Oh theres more, they took down eight Power 5 teams without a bye. That’s something no other college football team has ever done. The closest comparison? The 2005 Texas team, which managed seven wins against weaker-ranked opponents. Oh, and they spent two-thirds of the season ranked #1. But sure, let’s focus on those two rough quarters-what a horror story, right? And by the way, every team that had a bye struggled with similar slow starts. The difference? This team didn’t have their star wide receiver-the same guy who made it all possible in the first matchup. Without him to take the top off Ohio State’s defense, and with their starting running back only at 75% for a quarter and a half before going out, I’d say outscoring Ohio State 21-7 in the final 31 minutes was a damn good effort. Now, imagine if the tables were turned. Take away Ohio State’s star wide receiver, just like ours was missing. Then pull their running back, like our 5-star wideout and starting RB were out. Suddenly, that final score wouldn’t look so lopsided, would it? All things considered, it was a phenomenal performance against a stacked deck.
Come on man just accept it. You ran into a buzz saw quit with all the damn excuses you got curb stopped for 2 not 4 because Ohio State and Ryan day out of respect for the Oregon program and Dan Lanning backed off the throttle in the second half, everybody had players out. They went to other universities and failed. Three of the last five quarterbacks were transfer players, and Marcus and Justin were the only two who were not. Dillon Gabriel, Bo Nix, Anthony Brown, Justin Herbert, and Marcus Mariota.
He went to practice and saw Moore and realized he was 3rd string at best and wants to play his freshmen year. Moore did the same thing when he went to UCLA then came back to be behind Gabriel.

This QB said he was not being treated as a priority, so he decided to enter the portal, sounds to me like he is going to be a problem for any team that signs him. Oregon has lots of money so it's not that, it does sound like he has a bighead, all football programs have more than one QB they recruit them every year. I mean what was he thinking, did he think that he was going to move to the head of the line? I mean oregon has a ab already lined up to take over once Dillion leaves. With the transfer portal I think he is looking to play his underclass man years bc he won’t be playing for two years at least
I believe the easiest way to solve this is you honor a contract. No buyouts. If your fired you get your money and your free to go. But the only other option is you quit and can’t be hired on the next year. The coach would have to sit out a season at least. With kids same thing if they receive their money.

the job won't be as hard for the coaches once they sign these players to long term contracts (2-4 years). The colleges just need to catch up to where the professional teams are with regards to contracts. Until that happens, the players are free to jump to where the $$'s are. Want a guy not to leave, sign/pay him to a long term contract...
Contracts and possibly a limit on the number of times someone can enter the portal need to happen. Maybe limit players to entering the portal twice, with an extra time allowed if the coach gets fired or leaves. I'm a Michigan State fan and that team has a CB who has entered the portal 3 times and then decided to stay with the Spartans. Enough is enough at some point.
Oregon does not have a transfer portal problem we have an embarrassment of riches problem, too many good players and not enough spots for them all. Sagapolutele was never even a serious prospect, most Oregon fans, myself included, had never even heard of him before he decided to flip from Cal just before signing day. He got to Oregon, saw how much competition was in front of him, and noped out and I don't blame him. Dante Moore's the frontrunner but Novosad's right there with him and they both have 3 years of eligibility left. After them is the freak athlete Luke Moga with 4 years left and in his same class is legacy QB Akili Smith Jr. who's also exceeding expectations. I'd dip out too if that's what I had to compete with over the next several years and who knows, maybe he'll just take a page from Dante's book and just come right back next year to learn under him.
Story I read on ESPN: Jaron said, “I just felt that I wasn’t a main priority [at Oregon].” I hope this kid prays about it before making his next move… I think Cal would’ve been a great spot for him.
By the Oregon freshman jumping in the portal after only a week tells me we are stacked at QB and he got scared. So really it tells me we are looking good and the kid didn’t want to compete
My question would be how he didn't realize the Ducks were stacked at QB a week ago. I knew that and I'm a Michigan State fan who is still getting used to paying more attention to Oregon.
A letter of intent committing to a team must not be a binding contract. CFB needs binding contracts requiring players to provide a buyout penalty to the schools.
It is my opinion that college football is more exciting in a world where Vandy can beat Bama, and any school can compete. People are over letting the same 5 schools win it every year. I'm also glad that young men risking their health can get compensation, cause every game could be their last.
It doesn't matter if coaches talk to each other. This has been proved time and time again when you look at all these athletes that transfer multiple times. Look at Bear Alexander as an example. He's going to his third college team AND transferred multiple times in HIGH SCHOOL. Coaches don't give a rat's @$$ about.a player's previous commitments or should I say, lack of commitments.
There is nothing wrong with transferring, this is their life and future if they feel like they are in the wrong position to be great they should be able to transfer. It is none of your business because if they fail or succeed it doesn’t affect you
There is something wrong with transferring so quickly. He _committed_ to Oregon and they made a place available to him. To back out after like a week is ridiculous.
Can we realize that many factors can go into this. With the QB room, they have Dante who was a 5 star, Custom Novosad, a 4 star himself. And in response to other comments with Dallas Wilson, they obviously got Dakorien Moore, a 5 star, seems to be a really talented player. On top of that someone like Jeremiah Mcclellan, who was a 4 star WR himself, who didn't play a whole ton this year.
Bama fan here. All schools are having major issues with this transfer portal. This isn't sustainable. A one time transfer... maybe. But to allow a player multiple transfers? That's nuts
No, lead national recruiting expert said Jared said he expected he would start, but he didn't know Oregon had a guy named Dante Moore as QB in waiting. Also he wasn't home sick because he is from Hawaii, and he is going to transfer to Cal and not to Hawaii. This all comes down to a guy expected everything handed to him. He will definitely start at Cal, cause they suck and their QB transfered out.
Imo This was like Ewers when he went to OSU for the NIL deal cause Texas ain’t have that yet and once they did he went to Texas. He just taking advantage of a loophole within the “rules”
I hope that's a joke because it's not the truth. He went through practice and realized he didn't have a chance in hell of starting at oregon. He admitted it
I was surprised he went there anyway. He was a late Bloomer that was seen as a low 4* qb until October all of a sudden he got boosted up. Idk. Recruiting services have a hard time predicting QBs and in the nil era alm it takes to get big money is for one of the major services to just say you're a 5*.
Michigan had a kid do that to. A kid named Owen wafle. He was a DT. Im thinking he got to bowl practice and saw the depth chart. That or tampering. Someone may have come at him with cash. If im a school im making kids sign contracts saying if they dip right after they get paid then they have to return the money
Im thinking he saw the depth chart talent and didn't think he had a shot to get early pt. We will see where he ends up. If he ends up at a place where he has a great chance to start than ill understand. These coaches sell these kids all the bells and whistles and than when they show up its not exactly what they were sold
I'm not an oregon fan, but we're all going to suffer for this. The parents probably have a lot to do with it. They see it as a lottery ticket. Pull out contracts and you'll see who is who.
No transfer portal until after first year of play (freshman/redshirt). NIL needs to be capped per team, like in the NFL. Why do they need to be in school at all now? No scholarships, everyone pays their own way since they are making millions.
College football is so lame, just watch the draft rankings don't even have to watch the games. Don't care about any of the college teams at this point.
Here's the thing about this issue. This kid was always like this. He was always gonna have this mentality whether the new rules allowed him to leave or we still had the old transfer rules. As a fan of Oregon, wouldn't you rather know he's a diva and a flake right away so your team doesn't waste the time and resources on him?
What these players are finding out is they can't trust a verbal word that said to them, and as soon as these schools renege on their sleight of hand promises, they bolt and I don't blame them one bit. They need to start teaching them at the high school level how to get it in writing, or it don't mean shit.
He actually thought he was going to start NEXT season. He was going to be 4th or 5th on the depth chart. Homesick? That’s absurd unless he is going to sign with Hawaii. Oregon is as close to home as any. Phil Knight never said “unlimited NIL”, a formal rival coach said that.
People - Signing an NIL deal or contract is like signing an incentive based contract, based primarily on if you play for the university. If the athlete doesn't end up going to the school to play football, the school is not liable to pay the athlete. Why are people acting like they dont know this?
College football isn’t the same anymore with all of these young ass kids just transferring whenever they want to. It’s disgusting because eventually this whole generation is gonna filter through into the NFL and it’s going to ruin that as well.

Listen in life this rules and high school kids signing to universities and playing college football. It shouldn’t be any different. The kids should not just be able to come and go as they please if you sign a commitment it needs to be just what it is a commitment now after that year is up the physical football season is over if you are wanting to transfer no problem with that, but you can’t be able to transfer in the midst of the season or three days after you committed to a school and after you get there and you start practice, you realize that you don’t like it. You haven’t even been there long enough to develop a opinion about whether or not you like it or not.
if you are on the team at the start of the season. you should not be able to transfer...so this could should be allowed. this is a pain in the as for the coach and team but he is basically a day 1 employee that quit

Just my opinion, but it looks like this kid is afraid of competition. He might have been the man in high school, but this is the next level.
@@richardwilliams2902 they are also link to ewers
What's gonna happen is so many kids gonna enter rosters are gonna be maxed out and have no where to go but down
If there's no rules or boundaries placed on the portal and NIL money, College football will die because of the lack of interest. This is crazy!!!
What makes you think it will die? I doubt very money people actually care if the players are making money.
I'm waiting for the day one of these colleges flip the script and sue's a player. Mark my words, that day is going to come.
What difference does that make? Did all those QBs show up last week? Surely he knew they were going to be there.
Bama fan here. All schools are having major issues with this transfer portal. This isn't sustainable. A one time transfer... maybe. But to allow a player multiple transfers? That's nuts
Gives new meaning to playing the system 😂
Hawaii QBs are the biggest divas in football.
He saw the Rose Bowl and said Nevermind. I’m outta here.
I hope that's a joke because it's not the truth. He went through practice and realized he didn't have a chance in hell of starting at oregon. He admitted it
Maybe it's really Cold in Oregon, and said forget this.
I think the homie just wanted the championship ring💀
he going to cal 😂 which is crazy
😂😂😂😂 Bosters are just saying, "told you..."
Came for the free Nike’s. 😄😂🤣🤩
Oregon just got embarrassed and look how many freshman qbs was on that list. I'd leave to.
Ohio State gon win the natty
College football is so lame, just watch the draft rankings don't even have to watch the games. Don't care about any of the college teams at this point.
CFB is no longer an amateur sport.
maybe he got there and decided it wasn't for him, it is perfect because Oregon didn't waste time on someone who bounces in the spring window.
We have already seen two lawsuits filed last year on these schools reneging on promises.
NIL will need to have locked-in contracts moving forward. Only out: Not playing at the university level.
I still Don't get how we can call college sports "amateur" when they are paid more than simple needs.
The NIL has GOT to be fixed. Minimum of 2 years on a “contract”? Maybe 18 months? And you MUST play in bowl games, no opt out BS?
Oregon is the new OSU 😎
Nobody ever blames Danny boy.
Just cheering for laundry anyways. The players are just passing through.
At a min these nees tk be 1 year contracts. Or sometime of min amount of football played or something.
The kid had almost 100 more interceptions than TDs in High School, so how is he a 5 star recruit???
Why is all the blogs silent abt this? No mass exodus for Oregon? Yikes!
Targeting was a bad example for rules. We might need some rules for refs being held accountable. Also for checking if they're gamblers.
OREGON HAS BEEN EXPOSED AGSIN THEY GET ALL THE HYPE AND THE GREAT PLAYERS BUT CANT AND WILL NEVER WIN A TITLE
Lol okay. You must be a great fortune teller. Be jealous all you want. Oregon is the future of college football.
Zero titles 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@DodieJ Did you know that every coach left in the playoffs has not won a title?? So this year a coach is going to win their first title. The past has nothing to do with the future lol. Were you born stupid or did you grow into this? Lol
@@krondeanic did you know we were talking about schools not coaches, or are you just a byproduct of cousins breeding like you appear to be? 🤣🤣🤣 🤡
@@DodieJtheres lots of school with 0 national championships and really can't even count school that got they last one back in the 90s 80s and 70s anymore. 😂😂😂😂😂
For me it says Oregon wasn't his first choice since he flipped ended up picking oregon and didn't do his depth chart homework
This makes sense actually he was committed to cal originally, cals starter left for Indiana probably will commit to cal Oregon also signed two high rated qbs don’t think it was deep
Everybody was saying nick was hating when he spoke about NIL and the portal….until it happens to their school then they wanna say he was right.
No…he saw Dante Moore and knew he would never start at Oregon. It was his own fault that he signed and didn’t know Dante was the starter
Greed and money will kill college football. Get rid of NIL and transfer portal.
The portal ts why Saban retired. Saw it for what it is and knew Bama has no money to pay NIL
bamas been paying players before nil lol
if you are on the team at the start of the season. you should not be able to transfer...so this could should be allowed. this is a pain in the as for the coach and team but he is basically a day 1 employee that quit
Not homesick....He wanted to be a starter as a freshman. When he saw tge QB room, he bailed. Lol
He saw the loaded QB room and got scared
I wouldn't be surprised. Nike is going DOWN.
Transfer portal should not be open until the national championship is over...
Pulled an Ewers 🤣🤦♂️💰
I can tell you what happened. They have Dante Moore sitting on the bench five star QB from last year.
So Dante Moore was sitting there when he committed. If Moore's presence was so disturbing why commit in the first place?
He may not have liked the way they practiced. If he didn't like it there then let him go. Stop crying.
He wanted to start as a freshman and saw the competition
