Today I took a big step by starting uni. Well it was actually yesterday, but still. Luckily, there were no bombs involved though. But what has exploded is my desire for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
Could you imagine casting Starfall Invocation with Beza in play? Sure, you won’t ever get the fish tokens, but still seems like a sure fire way to shut the door on a game.
A small touch, but I like how you explain a cards abilities instead of just reading them verbatim. Nowadays even when I read cards I don't understand them...
I was VERY mistaken about DragonHawk. I just drafted it and had it die to 2 mana green removal the second I placed it. I was hella dissapointed since I tapped out and couldnt use any of the cards. Just to have it deal 4 damage to the opponent from the graveyard. I had NO idea that the 2 damage per exiled card still went off regardless of if it was on the battlefield. I won through burn damage while only attacking once. That card has an unreal floor I wasn't aware of.
Thanks for the list, bud. I enjoy all your videos quite a bit, but in particular these ones are helpful because I draft a lot and having things like this beforehand is nice. 👍
Correct, unless their creatures have +1/+1 counters on them. Because if Maha makes them have base toughness 1, they have a toughness of 1 plus however many +1/±1 counters are on them.
I know this is probably just you expressing that you like rats, but in all seriousness I feel like the rats are the least-supported archetype in this set.
@@NizzahonMagic True. 2-for-1’s are how ya win. Hope you get to play with the panther still (for my sake because I’m not sure if I’ll get to play any bloomburrow limited soon lol)
All the mythic rare legends feel like bombs except the green one. Vigilance and reach just don't do it for a big green creature. Yeah it gets back all your lands from the graveyard, but compared to the rest of the cycle I'm glad to see it wasn't on this list. It feels too much like the uncommon moose in this set, which might arguably be better overall.
It's great and definitely a bomb (I had it as an honorable mention as you probably saw), but It's not an automatic 2-for-1 like these all are. It's just a big ol' creature.
@@NizzahonMagic it’s definitely at its best against decks that aren’t making food naturally, which turns its ward into a vein ripper effect (and a 2-1!) thanks for the content¨̮
While all of these are indeed bombs, the likelihood of pulling any one of these in your sealed pool or draft are very low since they're all mythics and rares. I feel a top ten of the best commons and uncommons would be more helpful to those going to prerelease. Cheers!
So is "enters" replacing "enters the battlefield"? I've been playing awhile but I still find myself wondering is there anywhere else a card can "enter"? Like the graveyard or exile?
It's a little confusing, but typically cards are "put" into other zones, and "enter" only refers to the battlefield. I feel like this was kind of an unnecessary change tbh I do like that they've started using "this creature" for cards that make copies of themselves, like on the Offspring cards. I've definitely seen newer players get tripped up with the old wording.
Beza will drop in price fast... It is currently extremely overrated and not very useful. Maha can be good but only in EDH therefore you only need one. Fecund Greenshall may be a good card, but as a rare is not that useful atm... Warren warleader is the treasure of this set... That card is awesome...
Ral is a little overrated in my opinion. Essentially a 4 mana enchantment that makes prowess 1/1s 90% of the time. Every turn. Good value. But doesnt take over the game. Worse but easier to cast version of outlaws merriment.Ral is still a good card but everything on else on the list is better. Its just hard to protect it with 1/1s (sometimes 2/2s) and no destroy or damage modes. Ill be happy to draft it dont get me wrong but not a bomb.
Well, if it was entirely reliant on that ability triggering to give you a 2-for-1, I'd agree. But it gives you a 2-for-1 up front with potential for much more.
It'll be interesting to see how they shake out for sure. I wouldn't have any strong objectoins to flipping those two -- the point is that all these cards are insane in Limited.
Care to elaborate? The baseline is a big bodied 2-for-1, it has value engine potential, and in the extreme late game it makes virtually any board lethal.
It’s 5 mana compared to other bombs which are 3-4 mana, others 5 as well. It stats are one of the worst, just a 4/6 reach with no evasion or etc is not pushing for a quick lethal, just a good wall. At best it ramps you immediately as it comes into play to 6 mana and in draft with only 1 mana open youre usually not doing anything, stuff starts from 2. In order to proc its ability for further turns the deck has specifically to meet rules for creatures, not just creature etbs procs, and best case scenarion if we flood it will buff itself to 6/8 reach for 5 mana. The black birds elemental is 5 mana 6 power with evasion for 5 mana immediately. 2 for 1s opponent if he tries to deal with it.Turtle IMO is hardly even comparing to a bomb, more so top 10 one. Boros mouse at 10th place would be better bomb than turtle. Turtle usually is 5 mana 4/6 reach draw a card. Good quality, basically just above average card. 5.5/10
@@martynass You can argue it doesn't belong on this list as a bomb. I have a feeling the data will back me up in the end, but I could see it not being a full-on bomb if you only ever get the ETB. But you're insane if you think it's a 5.5/10. It's a B+ at the very worst.
I trust in you indeed. As I mentioned in the beginning its not that the turtle makes it weird to be in this top 10 its more like its standing so high in the list is a bit pushed. I myself am not really a drafter, I play limited very rarely and dont have a lot of experience with it, I am only a commander player and I am looking at it from different perspective I guess. So I do believe in limited, with very differs to quality of cards in a deck a turtle is a lot more powerful as it is and its prerequisite to trigger is not a big deal and can be played around quite well. The card really brings 2 for one as it is and has a good body and stats for its cost what usually is what a bomb is as you teach us. Also the time will show and the more people will draft and play with it will reveal how good and prominent it is.
How does it not belong here? What do you think should have been on the list instead? It gives you a 2-for-1 at least if you Offspring, and is likely to give you many more cards than that.
Today I took a big step by starting uni. Well it was actually yesterday, but still. Luckily, there were no bombs involved though. But what has exploded is my desire for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
congrats on starting uni! based on the dedication you have shown in these comment sections alone, I have no doubt you will succeed.
May you have a wonderful chapter of your life in your chosen university 😊
Been a while since you covered Top 10 Elementals, and with all the powerful ones in the last few years I bet that list'd be shaken up quite a bit
Might want to do that after the upcoming Lorwyn set, since that will likely add more.
Good call
Thanks for this!!!! Easily one of the best MTG channels out there and the BEST to watch and learn before a draft/sealed event!!
Could you imagine casting Starfall Invocation with Beza in play? Sure, you won’t ever get the fish tokens, but still seems like a sure fire way to shut the door on a game.
i just know darkstar augur is gonna kill me the frist time i play it
lol it’s true.
A small touch, but I like how you explain a cards abilities instead of just reading them verbatim. Nowadays even when I read cards I don't understand them...
Let’s go. I’m ready to draft and recording Bloomburrow limited on my channel and this video helped big time. Thanks

You should make a top 10 bombs video with the 10 best cards depicting bombs
Can I just say that black 6 drop viper will end up being the boogeyman in the format? Splashable, and if you untap with it the game is basically over.
Am I understanding Maha right that you can combo it with things that place a minus 1 on toughness and board wipe most of their creatures?
Correct, unless their creatures have +1/+1 counters on them. Because if Maha makes them have base toughness 1, they have a toughness of 1 plus however many +1/±1 counters are on them.
I was waiting for this list! Thank you!
Starfall Invocation aka Blood On Snow is back in Standard I like it.
i think dragonhawk is rly insane especially in red white tokens...
1. Rat
2. Rat
3. Rat
4. Rat
5. Rat
6. Rat
7. Rat
8. Rat
9. Rat
10. Land that mentions Rat
I feel like there should be a bird in there 🧐
Rats are 100% the tier 1 meta for bloomburrow, and nothing on 17 lands will ever convince me otherwise
I know this is probably just you expressing that you like rats, but in all seriousness I feel like the rats are the least-supported archetype in this set.
eh, I'd argue lizards are even worse
Great video super detailed and informative could you make a chart of how agro each archetype is
Also starfall is any creature destroyed this way... So even bring back the opponents bomb... That'll do
Not quite that good. It has to go to YOUR graveyard.
Glad to see Season of Weaving get its due respect.
I'm really excited to make a commander deck around Maha. Yes I am a terrible person!
Little surprised not to see Ygra make the top 10 bombs, it’s the one I’m the most excited to see and I think it’s insane. Good list though!
Ygra isn't an automatic 2-for-1 or better like all of these are.
@@NizzahonMagic True. 2-for-1’s are how ya win. Hope you get to play with the panther still (for my sake because I’m not sure if I’ll get to play any bloomburrow limited soon lol)
love to see a wrath as the #1 bomb!
Should you play darkstar augur early at the risk of losing a ton of life or wait until you need the card advantage?
BW is the lifegain archtype, so you should be gaining life each turn anyway.
Trick question. You ALWAYS need card advantage.

Its just not a bomb when using only bloomburrow cards. But it will be an auto include in any green commander landfall deck.
I think ygra should be on here! It plays amazingly well

Those cards don't look all that powerful for Brawl or Timeless, except Season and Starfall.
