This was grimy, dirty, unmaintained, dystopian, the zombie dude turned into a Servitor of some kind for some unknown reason to just be in a wall for some purpose and the rest of the time just suffering on the dark for life, yeah, this is pretty 40K

Which brand of foamboard do you use? The one I got now has impossible to remove paper glued to it..
No idea.
You can buy foamboard without the paper, check art supply shops.
Try acid like vinegar f.e. on the foamboard, should help dissolve the glue.
