This guy deserves all the happiness, respect, and love in the world!!!!!! I came across his videos just a day before my IELTS exam and after going through his format and writing techniques, I realised all the techniques I was taught were bullshit. I followed his format without prior practice (not recommended) and got a 7 in writing, had I followed what I was taught, I am sure I’d end up with a 6 or below. I am so grateful to him and I really hope he gets whatever he wished for!!!!

Honestly chris is probably the only ilets instructor that has real practical advice. I took my ilets in 2021 and got the bands I needed after 3 attempts (always got a band 6.5 in writing) before my 3rd attempt I saw your video on how just to keep it simple and clear ideas which really helped I got a band 7. I recently had to re take the test again in 2024 I started seeing your videos again and got a band 8 in writing and 8.5 in the rest.
Really solid advice hope you keep posting videos.

regarding to writing part which is what I struggled with previously.
Just understand what exactly what they want whether they want your opinion or just to discuss both views.
Follow the structure that chris talks about:
      Intro
      Main body paragraphs and conclusion
In the Main bodies have two clear ideas discuss each idea in a paragraph
Keep it as simple as possible do not complicate it or choose complicated ideas and give clear examples to support your idea
Chris really dumbs it down in his videos

I recommend watching a few videos by IELTS Advantage and you will be through. The great thing about this channel is the most important one and that is simplicity and taking away stress. They always suggest the right thing to do rather than overstepping and falling for advice producing pressure and getting you fewer bands.

I'm here to confirm that Chris gives great advice on IELTS writing. I only had a morning watching this video and another one about task 1. Honestly, during the exam, I could only remember his emphasis on making sure that you answered the question you were asked. I got a 7 in writing, which is not a good result (for me). However, who cares? The score is more than the requirement I need.
My message is that the number 1 rule is to focus on answering the question. What I messed up in the exam included 1) my vocabulary was not flexible enough, 2) my grammar was quite simple, and 3) supporting examples were a bit naive.
    Thank you Chris!

This video helped me a lot! I watched this video the day I was sitting for the exam and even until the night before, I was quite worried about my writing task 2. This format helped me a ton. I ended up achieving a solid 7.5 in writing and an overall score of band 8, and I have only been studying for a couple days. I just wanted to come back and say - thank you. I really appreciate this. It's quick, it's short, it's to the point, and it was easy to digest especially when you have to sit for the exam in the next hour! :V The task 1 video was superb too! I really learned a lot from this channel and your instructions, they were very helpful. The natural tone, and the effort behind pushing the natural charisma is very underrated. Helped me keep a cool head during the long test, which singlehandedly made the whole process easier and eventually the results better. Thank you so much.

    Paraphrase the question
    1. Definition: Rephrase the question's main concept in your own words, using synonyms and different sentence structures.
Example: If the question asks, "What are the advantages and disadvantages of...?", you could define it as: "The benefits and drawbacks of [topic] have been a subject of debate among experts.

To create a relevant example in Body Paragraph 1 that can help you achieve a Band 9, follow this structure:
"Specific example + Explanation + Supporting detail"
    Example:
    Body Paragraph 1:
"One of the primary benefits of artificial intelligence in the workplace is its ability to automate repetitive tasks, thereby significantly increasing productivity and efficiency. For instance, IBM's AI-powered tool, Watson, has automated data analysis tasks, enabling scientists to focus on higher-value tasks like research and discovery. As a result, Watson has reduced data analysis time by 90%, freeing up scientists to make groundbreaking discoveries in fields like cancer research."
    Breakdown:
    - Specific example: "IBM's AI-powered tool, Watson"
    - Explanation: "has automated data analysis tasks"
    - Supporting detail: "reduced data analysis time by 90%"
This example provides a specific illustration of the topic sentence, explains how it supports the main idea, and offers a concrete detail to demonstrate the impact. Using relevant and detailed examples like this can help you achieve a Band 9 in the IELTS exam.

I have so many ideas about advantages ,but in many model essays it is writen that disadvantages outweigh disadvantages.

Okay, listen everyone. Today, I'm going to tell you something very important about IELTS. Don't prepare for IELTS from RUclips because, at first, you get motivated, but by the end of the day, you will feel empty. The best way to prepare for IELTS is to learn from your own mistakes. And don't feel discouraged if you're not getting a good score; it's all about practice. The more you practice, the better your score will be.
Never prepare IELTS from RUclips!!. If you do, you will feel demotivated when you see comments like 'I got 8.5 bands, '6.5 bands,' or '7.5 bands! Instead, prepare on your own or use GPT for the writing task.

@@Ieltsadvantage Man I'm disappointed. I got LRWS: 9 8 7,5 8 and it is an overall of 8. If I had got a band 8.5 in speaking, that would've been good for an 8.5 overall. My part 2 and 3 of the speaking part were about music, especially the 3rd part questions were EXTREMELY difficult to answer even in my native language, as I genuinely know nothing about music, I'm an engineer. Of course I knew that the examiner isn't evaluating how much I know, but how well I can speak, so I tried my best and still gave really great answers, honestly I was expecting to get a higher mark in the Speaking part. I might retake the Speaking part only, however it costs 155 euros :(

Is is better to put 1 idea in 1 paragraph or 2 ideas per paragraph?

    • @IELTSASMReng
      @IELTSASMReng 6 месяцев назад

Depends on how you structure your essay and how many ideas you have in total. It's most optimal to have the same number of ideas in each body paragraphs.
So, if you have a total of 4 ideas, divide them into 2 paragraphs, each having two ideas.
If you have 2 or 3 ideas, put them into 2 or 3 single-idea paragraphs.
