    What are some other common keywords for Task 2? What do you think are their 'close' and 'loose' synonyms?

      It's hard to find synonyms for the word 'people'...
      There are individuals, folks, citizens, residents, some, many, etc...
      But, as a foreign learner, it is hard for me to understand whether they're 'close' or 'loose'...

    Really appreciate how you don't beat around the bush like other IELTS teachers on RUclips. Others just want to lure the viewers into buying their courses without giving them a reason to trust their teaching style whereas you're selfless and lead by example. Every video of yours contains such valuable yet simple information. Straight to the point. That's the only reason I keep coming back to your videos whenever I have to renew my IELTS score. Your lessons helped me score 7.5 in writing 2 years ago. Hoping to score 8 - maybe even more, who knows - this time.
    Thank you very much, Chris!!

      is it necessary to use so much vocabulary to make an essay of higher bands. can't we just express our ideas in simple language just by using some connector's and i personally face lot's of problem in TASK 1 because. I don't have that much connectors and i can only write in simple Language. so basically i just want your advice?

      @@Ieltsadvantage According to my knowledge, the loose synonyms that are frequently mistaken for "teacher" are "mentor, trainer, coach" and the close ones are "pedagogue, educator, schoolmaster/schoolmistress", though I am rather cynical about the validity of the final 2 words due to them sounding a little bit overly academic.

    • @Ieltsadvantage
      @Ieltsadvantage  2 года назад +13

      @@absurdmemes3732 I would say educator is the only close one that's appropriate. Remember, you don't have to give many; just show the examiner you are aware of them. There will be other words you can vary to show range too.

    Hello sir,
    Can we use infants word for children or forerunners and upbringers words for parents in writing?

    • @blackerscreenproductions1368
      @blackerscreenproductions1368 2 года назад +2

      I was thinking of that word myself; 'infants'. Which I believe encompasses the entire prepubescent demographic. But not all children are prepubescents! As for 'forerunners', this is a synonym of ancestor/antecedent. Which refers to those that have come before us; but does not necessarily grant the status of parenthood. Whereas, 'Forebearers' and 'Progenitors' are perhaps more precise in this regard but are probably considered too academic and sesquipedalian in use.

    So, “nowadays” is okay to use if it’s spelled correctly, isn’t it?
