I’ve always wondered if bands like Midnight Oil and Ministry who were on the far Left in their early days, have matured and gained wisdom over the years. People tend to gravitate towards the Right politically as they obtain life experience. It’d be awkward for them to have to continue to perform the same songs even though they don’t necessarily hold the same opinions. Does Al Jourgensen wake up and think, “Damn it, I used to hate the one percent and now I am one of those people. I used to love illegal immigration but now it’s ruining the country. I fought against climate change but our band has used a private jet for decades.😢”
That would be depressing. Its like they are running around with their feeling of being offended turned up to 11 all the time.

It's a chicken/egg situation, the progressive cult attracts people who aren't happy with their lives, and being in the progressive cult makes you unhappy. It's hard to point to the cause and the effect, because it's one in the same, but the result is undeniable.

They can't just admit they're wrong about something and go on with their day, like normal people, if they admit they're wrong about something they would have to admit they're wrong about everything. It would cause a massive psychotic break. I think a lot of them know they're wrong on some subconscious level, they just can't admit it, even to themselves.

Bill you are spot on! One of the most enlightening realizations I have had concerning wokeness in general... is that it is a condition of narcissism.

Bill, you forgot the "hero" status that this viewpoint brings.
Firstly, I refer to this mentality as 'pathological compassion' and it is NOT good for humans. Secondly, Scott, no one *_makes_* anyone else feel anything. Don't perpetuate colloquialisms such as that that encourage people to displace fault. Lastly, the mindset summed up by "ashamed of nothing; offended by everything" is philosophical contradiction. It's no wonder these people are miserable and disillusioned when their every waking moment is filled with philosophical contradiction. When a human truly believes two diametrically opposite concepts at the same time, then they are bound for despair. And *_that_* is the essence of leftism.
"Wokeness" also falls short of understanding the very real Biblical principle of helping your neighbor w/nothing expected in return.
Protesting for others or the government to do it instead of them personally is the equivalent of passing the buck.
The part their missing out on, the reason for their lack of fulfillment & joy in their life is the avoidance of that same "Biblical principle."
There is a sense of joy in knowing you put others needs before your own selfish desires & actually act on it yourself...
