Being a Rohloff fanboy and bike nerd I enjoyed watching this.

Thanks for your comment! I'm pleased that the video has been promoted by YT enough to reach some fellow bike nerds and Rohloff enthusiasts.

Excellent detail - especially the explanation for the odd reverse-rotation that goes on in higher gears!

Can't deny that that was significantly more interesting than I anticipated when I clicked on the video. Good job!
It all makes sense, but it still looked kinda uncanny seing the torque arm rotating freely while the hub was under load in gear 11 xD.

Much is said of Rohoff efficiency.. what is that efficiency number please
Easiest perhaps is gear with 1 to 1 ratio ..pedal and torque arms made same lenght .. attach wood arm .. .. electronic baggage scale ... Dumbbell weighed to confirm weight.. might be easiest with wheel spoked to hub .. wood arm attached to pedal arm same length as eheel radius...
In a video I made of a mouse trap patented 1890 ... The progress made ??? ... The exact same design is sold in Poundland 2 for £1...
