Yes, all parts are painted silver.
Injection plastic in color will never be able to produce this type of sheen. The materials and technology is not there.
TallyHawk’s legs are a little small to be articulated and furthermore it opens up another point of failure for the figure if the joint became loose, the bird with its bigger body weight will likely fall over.
The consideration to not make the neck more articulated was to preserve the figure to not have too many gaps on his very unibody design.
But yes. We can definitely tweak the design to allow more forward looking , perhaps in a future MK2 version if we ever get there.
The price is due to the fact that our qty are extremely low. Just 1000 units worldwide.
If we can distribute 10,000 units worldwide, retail price will be able to come down.
It is economics unfortunately.
We will surely endeavour to make improvements going forward.

Great review I was interested but didn’t want to try first. After watching this, I wish I had jumped in. Looks great. The head articulation is sorely needed. Perhaps a small flight stand but very well done

Silverhawks was one of my favorite cartoons growing up, he looks really awesome. Copper kid was always my favorite
With them not being able to officially continue with Silverhawks after MonStarr, I hope they do something....less official to keep going.

I get that explanation. Honestly speaking, I don’t mind the grey elbows. I’m glad they didn’t do the same with the shoulders. The elbows being grey are very subtle and doesn’t really distract from the sea of gorgeous silver paint. Plus, the heft and quality is top notch.

I was devastated recently to hear that Ramen toys won't be making any more silver hawks. I was really impressed with Quicksilver and I'm sure I will be with monstar. So sad they're ending that line after only two figures
I've heard no such rumor. I know they canceled the 80s Commander retro, though.

This does look good. A little Short of Articulation for the High Price.. overall very cool figure. Would love to see if Super 7 themselves give us more articulation. Great Review 🌟🤓

If you've seen any of their Ultimates you'll know that they won't. They use the same body for a good deal of their figures and the most articulation they have is 90° bends at the elbows and knees, and a pitiful ab crunch. Even their paint jobs aren't great for the cost. I'd love better articulation but I have more hope that it'll come from this or some company other than S7.

Build quality of this guy caught me off-guard. Very well made action figure. I share your criticism of the head not being able to go up. On the darker joints Ramen Toy issued a statement earlier today.
"We would like to explain that this was a design choice from the start of our concept. There is a “suit” that Quicksilver puts on, like an “under armor” before his “plates of steel” goes on. In that sense, both figures [he and the upcoming Mon*Star] were never meant to be completely silver nor completely red.
As an add on comment - Quicksilver’s shoulders were later changed to silver (a running change is the term in production) because the grey was too stark based on the way we separated the parts. In hindsight, we could have designed it differently to still have the “under armor” shoulder be grey, but that would mean the shoulder pads cannot be attached to the body and instead attached to the shoulder itself and in that separation, a clear gap would be seen between the body and the shoulder pad which we did not agree with at the time."
I get the "suit" concept and I read that when they made the statement. Sure, that works for certain areas, but not the inner elbow
I really think the silver shoulders hurt them in that regard. When they were dark grey (like in the thumbnail) you get more instantly that this is a reinterpretation, with them silver he looks just a little too close to the cartoon.
To sell the undersuit look they should’ve had the shoulders and neck be dark grey (and maybe black or dark grey in the panel lines, like a gundam)

Yeah he definitely needed the ability to tilt his head back, that’s crucial to any flying character! And its not like the couldn’t just tweek the design to allow it, they added shoulder pads and extra detail to make him look more robotic. Just tweak the neck and add a hinge at the top of it

I will say this: with this figures art style (slightly more realistic and detailed) Monstar would look amazing! (he was already The scariest of the 80s villians to me)

Great review! If only Max Factory Figma had the license to produce these figures, they would have had fantastic articulation. All in all this figure does have an outstanding presence on a shelf!
Since I'm a "leave on the shelf" guy, the articulation doesn't bother me as much as I believe it would bug some photographers
It's SO interesting that they were able to sublicence this. my only worry is that they are targeting so many niche audiences that (like us) are already investing into other things. still a great updated figure. NOW BRING ON THE MASK STUFFF!!! lol. (i have their "centurions" too. which were pretty great)

Plus, I wish it was actually chrome plated… Think it would elevate this figure to the next step
