I love love love the close cut of Jo saying that she wants to be loved vs. Amy saying that she loves Laurie perfect example of why Amy and Laurie should be together because it’s a mutual loving rather than infatuation and loneliness (as it is with Laurie and Jo)
That is reasonable. Although where it doesn't seem perfect is on Laurie's part. Yes, Jo failed to love Laurie, and Amy genuinely loved him. But we cannot forget about Laurie, it is so clear that Laurie never loved amy the way he loved (or maybe even loves, I'll talk about it later in this) Jo. There was a line tha Amy said about how all through her life she's been second to Jo and she doesn't want to be someone Laurie would settle for just because he can't have her sister, to which Laurie didn't have an answer. And that's exactly what happened. Maybe Amy and Laurie's relationship wasn't just infatuation on Amy's side but I believe that Laurie did the same with Amy as Jo had done with him later. Laurie was just lonely and the only person he could find in that moment was Amy and he didn't ACTUALLY love her. And I am 100% sure that had Laurie found the letter that Jo had written for him he would have been devastated and probably gone back to her (Laurie's honest and loyal chracter might've prevented him from leaving Amy but if they hadn't been together (married) till then, then Jo would've been his natural choice.)
I’ve never liked Amy and Laurie (I think I’m a sap for ending up with ones first love) but this made me look at them in a new light. Your juxtaposition made me realise that they were made together
HOW ARE THERE SO LITTLE COMMENTS THIS IS A MASTERPIECEEE I LOVE YHE TRANSITIONNNN ESP HWO AT THE START IT WAS ALL JO AND LAURIE AND THEN IN THE MIDDLE THEY BOTH REALIZE WHAT THEY TRULY WANT AND THEN THERES THIS ENTIRE BEAT CHANGE OMG
I'm sorry, love the edit, but jw wasn't Amy Black Widow's (a.k.a Natasha's) sister in a past life ?? 🤔 😂 I have to see her acting in this show. Going to watch it rn.
Sooooooo I watched it ! 🤗 And I think they really could've made this into a tv series.. I liked the ending and I think it's right that Amy and Laurie ended up together but the pacing (since it was a movie) seemed a little rushed which is why I see how ppl might not think it makes sense they ended up together. They should've let us see their relationship develop more but all in all I think it makes sense how it all turned out. If I'm being honest tho Beth had no presence until her death 😭😭😂 which is sad but I really couldn't feel that bad about her since it feels like I barely knew her character . Anyway sorry for leaving a review, I just love the couple and this edit. Great job, chefs kiss 👩🏽🍳💋
I think Jo never loved him like that, and she was just lonely and missed his friendship tbh. That's just what I got from the movie. It felt like a last ditch attempt because of how alone she felt. I think Laurie deserves better than that, and Amy made him grow up a bit. She challenged him and checked his privilege, and though their relationship isn't exactly perfect, I think he truly did fall for her. Before, she'd been so much younger than him and a bit immature and a child, so it makes sense he wouldn't have liked her then, but she grew up, and she encouraged him to. I recognize that Jo and Laurie are tragic, and their friendship was beautiful, but Amy and Laurie to me are very very real which is what I like about them.

This is more of a Jo/Amy edit, tbh 🥹
this comment inspired me to make an edit of amy and jo, so I’m uploading it now!
I think Jo and Laurie are meant to be together because Jo helped Laurie to be social and be himself just Laurie did to Jo
