The two greatest voices in the history of music!!
This is soul with a "Capital S" produced by Phil Spector in his wall of sound. The reason you can't bring this back is because the artist of today don't have this type of talent and have to use auto tune. This is why the Righteous Brothers and Phil Spector are ALL in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame--- pure talent.😎
I love the Righteous Brothers, and they have some amazing songs together, but for me, Bobby was the voice that made the music come alive. He gives you goose bumps, makes you tear up, and turns my stomach into knots when he reaches some of those notes!! You don't just hear his music, you feel it! If you haven't already you should listen to Bobbys "Stay With Me", or " Love You For Sentimental Reasons", or "For Your Love", or "My Prayer", or "Only You". Also there is Ebb Tide and several others. His "I Need a Girl" is fantastic. So many wonderful songs that Bobby did as a solo, but another one he and Bill did that I absolutely love is "I'm So Lonely". I could just go on and on. Never a waste of time to listen to anything Bobby has done!!
Oh yeah, this is another off the charts beautiful rendition icon of this song. Bobby’s counter tenor voice is superb.
Infreakingcredible!!! Pure Magic!!! Blue Eyed Soul strikes again, lol.
You have very good musical taste. I'm a music historian, know what I'm saying. The Righteous Brothers never disappoint. I suggest checking out Soul & Inspiration, Just once in my life. Hung on You( the B side of Unchained Melody). They were on 🔥🔥🔥🔥 doing Little Latin Lupe Lu and The Night Time is the Right Time. Bill Medley did a terrific solo wthr The Blossoms, Brown Eyed Woman. Was at the Playboy Club(family friendly). Hasn't got blocked yet
You cannot help but fall in love with😢 these guys. I was in high school with them when they came out. I have all of their vinyl record albums in my collection. RIP Bobby! We miss hearing your beautiful voice! ❤❤❤🙏
The Ray Bloch Orchestra were the musicians for all the acts on the Ed Sullivan Show for over two decades. Exceptions were for performers who had their own bands or orchestras such as Duke Ellington or Herb Albert, etc.
Man did I get it wrong. Thank you for setting me straight. And recognized the very talented Ray Bloch and his Orchestra and his arrangement on 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' Awesome!
MBBx … You definitly surrendered to Bobby’s unique voice and emotion !! Bravo ❤ 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 love your reactions and comments !
I love this song by them. Listen again to Bobby hit that note and watch Bill. Bill looks like he flinches. That tickles me for some reason. 😏
This is spiritual man, it really moves my soul.
They are the sweetest. I just love listening to them.
I have listened to these two for most of my life. It never gets old. It is more Gospel than Pop. I just know that anything they sing is beautiful. I have Elvis singing this song on his 220 Gospel recordings. I love those too. Thank you.
Gives me chills every time
Great great performance by the Blue eyed souls ❤ … amaizing harmonies of a deep baritone and an angelic countertenor. Pure emotions ! And some comments are ridiculous. Seems the purpose is to degrade this pristine performance. Who doesn’t like just leave and let the art lovers feel the excellence of their harmonies. By the way Ed Sullivan originally made his name as a newspaper sportswriter, radio broadcaster and theater columnist for the New York Daily News. His column focused primarily on Broadway shows and juicy items about its stars. On the new medium of TV, however, he became a pioneer master of ceremonies and entertainment showman.
It was their music producer Phil Spector who made the music arrangements for the CBS orchestra of the 'Ed Sullivan Show.' Counter Tenor Bobby Hatfield's ending was to die for.
Great music arrangement and singing by Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Another great live television performance by the Righteous Brothers. Brilliant!
Ray Bloch was the music arranger and conductor for the Ed Sullivan show. The arrangement is virtually identical to the one used on their Just Once In My Life LP. Three arrangers are listed for that album (it doesn't indicate who did which song) and Spector ain't one of them due to the fact that he was a producer, not a music arranger. Record producer and music arranger are not the same thing. You didn't say this, but others have, so I wanted to add that a TV show producer and record producer are also completely different professions.
@@Aurora-tp3dy Thank you for that great info on Mr. Ray Boch and his orchestra.
@@54nomore You are very welcome.
Clean cut was so charming to see. Well groomed men who coordinated their outfits will never go out of style if women have anything to say about it ❤. Bill is great but I too adore Bobby. Thank you for your reaction.
More suggestions...they do an update on Rock and Roll Heaven on American Bandstand. If you want another 70s type Dream On is good. Also watch there appearance on Sonny and Cher show.
Also go back to there first hit Little Latin Lupe Lu. It's a rocker.
I am not sure if you have listened to this, but Bobby singing Summertime. It's phenomenal. Oh Also yes indeed on Ed sullivan show.
you should listen to "Ebb Tide" sung by Bobby
Agree to reacting to Bobby's solo records "Ebb Tide" and "Stay With Me Baby". "Summertime" video by Bobby on Shindig has him hitting some crazy notes. See Bill's singing his song "Brown Eyed Woman" in the Playboy After Dark video. I don't know if you reacted yet to both of the Righteous Brothers singing "Soul and Inspiration" on the TV show Hullabaloo but it was their follow up song after You Lost That Loving Feeling. Yep...the Righteous Brothers songs are timeless.
Like I said earlier for fun listen to them sing, Little Latin Lupe Lu, Justine, Koko Joe and I Need Your Lovin everyday from their performances on Shindig. Also great Bobby solo songs, My Prayer, Ebb Tide, and Stay with Me.
You should hear their live version of Sam Cooke's song , Bring it on Home to Me
We all need this song at times in our lives. Great reaction!
I LOVE that you appreciate the greatest duo of all time. Bobby is a counter- tenor & Bill is a baritone.
I am a white woman who loves soul & blues. I mean at 10 years old I was listening to Ma Rainey & Billie Holiday along with the jazz of Duke Ellington & Cab Calloway. My white parents played black music all the time. There was NO color barriers in our house. The Righteous Brothers do sound black, but who cares? They are just as soulful as a brother & they admired Ray Charles growing up, so yeah they do imitate him at times. But I feel their voices together are so amazing, powerful, & unique, that they are in a category of their own. They respect black soul & blues singers, & are only adding to this already rich culture with their incredible renditions.
Check out “I Who Have Nothing” by them. You’ll love it. Tom Jones has a version, but it’s too theatrical & has no SOUL. I love your reactions
Great reaction. If you like Bobby Hatfield listen to his singles of "Only you" and "My Prayer" You won't regret it.
I don't think anybody will regret any song done by the Righteous Brothers. They have voices that came straight out of Heaven! If they had made Mary had a little Lamb, I would still buy it.
You need to watch"Summertime" which is another live performance solo by Bobby. It will blow your mind
Glad you reacted to this song , so beautiful & of course the RB hit it out of the park 💕🔥
Wow! Thank you MMB, I had not heard that one Live before. Funny how EVERY Righteous Brothers performance FEELS like it's the BEST thing I have ever heard! And even re-listening, they each still feel that way. I'm a long-time fan of the Righteous Brothers, and then 2 years ago I first watched the live video of Unchained Melody. It Flipped me out! I eventually started looking at reaction videos, and then I found yours (the best). You then introduced me to several new videos by them, like "Summertime", which I only knew of the Janis J Studio Version. I then saw your great reaction to Janis Summertime as well. MMB is still the only channel I have ever subscribed to. Love your observations, and I love your many subscribers, they are all thoughtful, kind, and real music lovers.

WOW, JUST WOW!!!!! THANKS DREW, THIS WAS WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
Wha an encouraging song
Even though I am not crazy about Bill Medley at all, I must say that in this particular song, his voice is gorgeous
Cissy Houston was a backup singer with Elvis. Yup, Whitney's mom. Whitney talks about Elvis, so does 50 Cent in, Elvis and the black community part 1 and 2. You wouldn't believe how the south hated Elvis. They smashed his records. Why? Bcuz they said he sung black music. Rock was started by black people but couldn't get traction. Elvis started singing the same songs and helped black artists become part of main stream artists.
Listen to "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" , another great hit by The Righteous Brothers!!!
What about Ebb Tide. That's one of my favorites. Please listen to it.
One of your best reactions.
Hey bro, play just once in my life .they were the most underrated singers in history !! Elvis couldn't even wipe Bobby's ass as great as Elvis was .
That was the Superbowl in Tampa Florida. It was the Tampa orchestra Whitney sung to.
Great reaction btw.
Oh yeah, play dream on rock & roll heaven and ebb tide. They will fucking blow your mind !!!!!
BLUE Eye SOUL
You need to check out Gerry and the pacemakers version or the Liverpool football club supporters singing this iconic song ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
This song has been sung by many
But no one can top Bobby Hatfield's voice
You can hurry up and believe that!
Absolutely!
Absolutely!
Hey bubba, James Brown and Aretha Franklin said that both Bobby and Bill were worlds greatest singers .check out Bill singing Brown eyed woman and Bobby singing I believe ! White boys !!!
Could you please do a reaction to Summertime by Bobby Hatfield? I love your reactions. Thank you. 😊
Thank you for not talking over/through the music.
They are not actually brothers. They need a name and one night someone yelled "That's Righteous Brother"
You should check out Michael Ball s version of this song
Bobby does a version of "I Just Want to Make Love to You" that is pretty stellar.
Sorry! You've already reacted to I Just want to make love to you.! My bad. But here's a fabulous one that not too may people have found: "The Righteous Brother's and The Blossoms"
This is a good version but I like the Gary and the Pacemakers version the best.
I must admit, I find Elvis`s version deeper and more powerful.
I don't know how Ed Sullivan got a TV show. He was a food critic, if I'm not mistaken. How did he get a TV show? He must have been well connected.
I like the sound but they do the tune to slow. It is meant to be song at a fast tempo. I did this tune as a solo in senior yr HS
Elvis was the king but he couldn't even shine their shoes .sorry Elvis fans but Elvis worshiped these two
Oh no! They murdered the Liverpool Anthem. :(
These guys murder every song they sing
@@serafyo Good point.
They never fails us ❤
PLEASE react to "I Just Want to Make Love To You"
If you made it on the Ed Sullivan show and you performed well you were on your way to super stardom. That is the show you wanted to showcase your talents and the righteous Brothers could do no wrong.
