After a very long reasearch for more than 2 years , there are only two succesful way to make these hollow body frogs lure are dipping method which is used for very small scale production and second or most effective and industrial method is rotational casting only !
There's a video on RUclips of a guy doing it. It's not under fishing though. He a video on a armor piercing bullet. The whole video is a joke, but he does mix tungsten powder and lead and shows the difference in weight. That is what made my fishing brain said that would work for fishing weights.
im going to try to make sacrificial ones from salt water plastisol and weighted frog hooks. 3d printed mold and some high heat paint should do well enough for me to pour in and spin a couple hollow cavities.
Take a cnc mold, make the frog, then cnc another frog just a tad smaller then the cnc mold, the big thing I thing needs to happen is the smaller cnc mold of the frog needs two small pins coming out the mouth and butt and bam you have a frog mold. If anyone takes this idea and wants to use it I will invest. Plz reach out
Yo there is a pro fisherman named Todd Castledine. He designed the popping perch for strike king. He has a RUclips channel. I’m gonna ask him. He was involved with R&D he has got to know
I think it will need to be a frog similar to the Scum frog design where it retains a fairly open hole in the bottom. Obviously weight will have to be towards the back and centered / balanced to keep it afloat. I am not sure how exactly you would get it molded consistently though.
Odd. I've been thinking about this as well. I have two ideas. 1st I thought about trying to use my ender 3d printer and TPU filament to 3d print the soft rubber hollow body. I'm not good making the files design so would need to pay someone to make me a 3d printer file. 2nd I thought about using a thick balloon blown up to a fog body size & dipping it/pouring plastisol over it. Then popping the balloon to remove it from the spot where the hook would insert. Was also thinking a penny or dime or small washer could be stuck on the balloon when dipped or poured would add the weight for casting and be stuck in the body never coming out on a cast. If the balloon seems to pop or break with just air.....I was thinking maybe filling it with something like fine sand or salt that could be pour out and reused again.... Honestly though...I think a 3d printer file of a hollow frog body using TPU filament would be the best. It would allow for easy enlarging or shrinking the size, give a more consist an body replication, and repeatable consistent hook placement.
I'm not sure about making them, however do it sells the blanks for them. I've been thinking about airbrushing my own but im not sure how to seal them. Idk if seal coat would work on them like regular blanks.

Yeah that's pretty much what I've found

Haven't figured that one out, but I did figure out how to pour tungsten jigs and weights. Saved a ton on that one
How did you manage to do that?
@joshs8018 tungsten powder. Lead is just one bonder they use. They may do it another way, but tungsten powder and lead work too
@@drew3021 thanks! So you are able to do it at home? Sounds crazy mixing the two

@@drew3021 man thanks for replying ima have to check it out
Any updates on this?
Unfortunately no. From what I've been researching is you need a roto machine to do it
Just search in youtube “ cara membuat soft frog “ i hope this help.
Very interesting 🤔 be fun too try!!! I know do it sells some to paint and stuff
Yeah they sell Blanks and they are awesome. You use worm/lure dip to paint them
My guess is that they are dipped around a positive mold of the frog and then, if not split or cut, quickly blown off with high pressure air or water.
Thinking the same
Nope. Booya makes mine. They call it a pad crasher.
💯
I have a new design for a frog, but I cannot find a way to make it
Same
I’m working on it too hollow cavity, poor then inject air.
Haven’t got it to work yet 3D printing. Roto might work to ABS moulds are light.

You'd probably have to have a set-up like the core shot molds at AI angling molds
I think your right
Injection mold…
Figure something like that
Good luck buddy you will get I’m sure
Thanks brother. I've been trying to come up with ideas, just wondering if anyone has done it. 🤷🏽♂️
Can you make one like the Tube baits only larger? Pinch the end shut and hot dip it.
Was thinking the same. But qould have to have the "rod" form to dip it
I’ve played around with the idea but could never get it to turn out
Well what did you try???? Very curious. I want to make them lol
@@ThatGuySkimpy I had mold Cnc would pour liquid playtex just never seemed to be able to get them to form right
@@overloadedoutdoors7582 gotcha. Well I'll keep researching it
@@ThatGuySkimpy I haven’t given up trying to figure out a new way
I could def make you a few I know how it is done but it is just a little annoying to do the prob is getting the right urethane blend
😳😳😳😳 oh man I need to know the secrets hahahahhahaa
🤔 now I got my fishing thinking cap on! Interesting idea.
Let me know if you come up with some ideas!!!!!! If the big boy companies can do it, then we can 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I have thought about this for a couple years...and have searched for molds....all I found was goose eggs....lol
Yeah me too. But there has to be a way. Can't let only the big boys make them lol
@@ThatGuySkimpy that's right bro!!!!
Time to disect a few frogs to see how its done!
Lol. I have taken a few apart. I see the parts they use just neer to figure out the way the actual frog is made 🤜🏽🤛🏽
@@ThatGuySkimpy its definitely a molded plastic, but there has to be way to do make them economically.
You making them now?
I'm trying to big homie. Lol. Just gotta figure out how to hahahahhaha
Let me know when you got it down.
Commenting before big frog has Skimpy wacked for attempting to cut in on their market.

@@ThatGuySkimpy Make a mold?
@@AgronomistatIA so I'm thinking ill make a 3d print of the "master" and then try use that to make a mold out of plaster of paris (POP). ?????

How about blowing air in silicone... like a birthday balloon...
