OBVIOUSLY: THE REAL AND THE UNREAL - THE FINAL CUT (full movie, part 7)

The fifth segment of the film I made about my brother and his experience of living as a recovering drug addict and victim of the psychiatric system. BEST VIEWED IN 4K.
This final cut was made by me on the 16th anniversary of the filming of the first version of this film which has undergone many revisions during the extremely difficult circumstances involved with the production, including the suicide of one of the cast members.
There will be interview clips following the presentation of the film, and I recommend viewing them in an alternate playlist which will be provided that incorporates them into the film, but only after viewing the film in the original order without the interruption of the interviews, which only breaks the flow of the film. Obviously, pun intended, the best viewing experience is to view all of the segments continuously, but do as you see fit!
COMMENTARY:
The climax of George's journey reveals what drives so much human suffering. His response to the oratory of the megalomaniacal doctor Serebro aka doctor Silver should be universal...
The music in the nightclub is a record Massimo and I made with George in the late 1980s called "Party rock" under the name TAGG. It was quite successful at the time, as George records go, but little did we know that the flipside of the record, "Planet voice " would go on to become a collector's item decades later! Planet voice is heard during the voyage to the alter earth. See the video conversation between Massimo and myself at the end of the playlist for more information...
The animation of that scene took 2 years for me to do as a solo task (including the actual rendering). It required sculpting a polygonal mesh of George using nothing but my eyes and a pen input device. In the year 2009, it was a lot more difficult to do facial animation and lip sync than it is today. Thankfully, when I reviewed the footage for the final cut, it did not need to be "updated". The original work still stands up! I did decide to make the alter earth scene monochromatic with the exception of the good doctor's avatar. It helps in showcasing the ego of the entitled class.
