- Hey everyone! We got our freedom and we're trying to figure out what to do with it.
A small clarifier about the mod messages: things that I didn't/don't find aren't a spoiler, but I love love love the sense of discovery when I find something significant, so please try and refrain from telling me the specifics vs mentioning that there's more to find in a particular area.
Mods aren't dicks, they're just trying to uphold whatever guidelines I put out to the best of their ability. If you're not happy with them, please take it up with me and not them.
Friendly reminder about keeping spoilers to a minimum.

*IMPORTANT SPOILER/MODERATION NOTE*
Please remember that pointing out missed items, lore points, etc. are SPOILERS for REPLAY, or for people who are "Playing Along". Comments along these lines will be removed by the moderators - - - General advice about an area ( "There's more lore in the amusement park" ) is acceptable. Pointing out specific items or areas ( "You missed the *BlastoMatic 9000* under the cotton candy machine" or "there's a secret room behind the changing room bookcase" ) is not acceptable.
I recommend doing all the side quests. One, you'll never be bored and two, lore, lore, lore. Looking forward to the next video.
Oh I'll be doing them all for sure. I'm a completionist at heart haha
I really like that you are taking your time with certain things and yes, the Side-Quests are amazing. If you enjoy them - go for it! There are so many smaller stories in there, that I personally found very enjoyable in my own playthrough.
All side-quests are worth it. They truly open up the world and lore for you.
Also, there was an opportunity to talk with Varl again after your conversation with Sona. I do wish the game made it more obvious when you can talk with someone.
Tallnecks also open up the map for you, if you look at the map you can see how much territory is open for you now.
The side quests and caches help to flesh out the story. I enjoy your honest emotional responses and your eagerness to chase "rabbit trails"
During this entire episode I am reminded how likable, believable and interesting Aloy, Rost, Varl, and tbf all NPCs are in this game. It made the game so enjoyable and memorable to me. Even the villains are characters you love to hate.
Something to keep in mind about Scrappers; they will destroy loot!
If you have killed a machine and it’s icon is blue or purple and you want that Rare Loot, get to it before a Scrapper does because they are programmed to rush to “dead” machines and harvest them (as their name suggests). I’ve seen a Purple Icon turn to white right before my eyes as a Scrapper got to a machine before me and destroyed its loot.
If Scrappers are around, loot fast.
Glad to see ya back at it. This is my favorite game series! 4 playthroughs and it is still challenging and fun. If ya want some tips feel free to read on. I'm keeping them spoiler free as possible, because the discovery of the first time through is by far the best. These are things I wish I learned earlier. (crossing fingers this follows the moderator's guidlines.)
First, take your time, be distracted! This game and the story of it is beautiful. Savor it all!!
The collectibles are not really sequential when you gather them, but there is a poem or story that, I think, links each type.
I agree the mounts are fun, but I find I miss resources and have more fun just running to see al the amazing things.
Use the Focus alot and near everywhere. It allows you to see machines, animals and important NPCs at longer distances, through rocks, walls, and darkness. Tagging targets helps too.
Loot everything and kill as many animals in the sacred lands, then you won't have to until the Frozen Wilds. They are used to upgrade pouches and can be easily upgraded to max in the sacred lands. That will help with the hardest part of the game....inventory management. ;)
Speaking of inventory, look thoroughly through a traders inventory for good stuff and sell stuff. Items to sell will be marked as sell for shards in the uses section.
Data points and collectables are fun and add wonderful highlights to the old one's world. I found it fun and made the story richer to read them all.
On Scrappers, if you loot the any machine you killed quick, it reduces the chance of attracting one. They like the green and higher loot especially.
Riding Tallnecks is the BEST! such great views!
Next episode soon please, really enjoying your journey with Aloy!
the music of this game is so touching i could listen to it for hours...
Do everything! The lore is so rich and you have only scratched the surface. If you’re surprised so far, your mind will be blown layer on 😂
I loved when you learned that shooting the watchers in the face does more damage. 😆 That and it shows you are leveling up and getting stronger. No need to fear them as much. Cheers.
They are almost not an issue now! I was so scared before haha.
No spoiler: you have tokens in your inventory that can be redeemed at any merchant for special boxes containing resources and gear. 🏹 Great episode! ✌️
I forgot how great the music in this game was and how cinematic it was... Good to see you playing all these gorgeous games!
About your confusion in the end when you thought you already left Nora territory.
Embrace, where Aloy grew up, sometimes called All-Mother's Embrace, is a small valley region in the southwestern part of the Nora Sacred Lands.
The Embrace is a well-defended valley that is home to most of the tribe's population. The perimeter is marked by three gates: the North, South, and Main Embrace Gates.
Some Nora outcasts live inside the Embrace, but are generally not welcome in any of the main villages. Instead, they live in camps and houses they've built scattered throughout the region, such as Brom's Camp (you helped him and his suster in the side quest), Grata's Camp (old Grata) and Rost's Hovel.
And now this Cren guy who you run into outside of the Embrace.
Basically Embrace is protected, it has Gates, you can't enter or leave it other than through those Gates.
Everything outside of it (for now) is the rest of Nora's territory, but more of the wild parts. It's more exposed, that's why the Red Raids happened there, and never made it into Embrace.
Thanks for sharing your game experiences.
And I see you've met Nil, the local sociopath (but in a good way).
As for side quests:
1. All give XP.
2. Some give Skill Points.
3. Some give special prizes.
So do 'em all!
Oh this playthrough will take a long time, and I'm all for it.
I am loving watching you discover this game for the first time. It left such an imprint on me and I'm excited to see you experience it. Do you live stream?
I wish I could erase my memory and experience it again for the first time. Enjoy it and take your time, there's so much!!!! 💚
Sadly, I don't livestream at the moment. But I'm loving the game, and it's always great to see that people are enjoying watching it! :)
@@LieraPlays Also, I would love to see you do all the side quests. Lots of lore there and they are just fun little pieces that add to Aloy's character.
The basic overview of the override mechanic depends mostly on a machines purpose and form in game. Machines that are mountable will always stay overridden and can eventually be summoned, while all others you hack will fight for you for a limited time which you can extend by buying some skills. The list of machines you can take over can be expanded by completing certain location based tasks.
Throwing my voice behind seeing side quests. They are great and full of lore!
Hello! Love the videos! MInor helpful tip: Use a fire arrow on boars. One arrow and they will burn and die. No change in what is scavenged.
Hello! Thank you!
Hi again Liera, enjoyed again your video. In order to ease your task a little, I have some small hints
1. Bonus items
I saw some marks in your inventory for bonus items of the game. You have to trade them at (any) merchant in exchange to get improved armor and bows. I recommend to do so. You won't get the best ones but much better than what you got in game up to now. And they are for free...
2. Settings
I saw you following the guidance of the automatic way routing when searching for the cave with the shield weaver armor. Be careful with this, as the guidance makes you follow the yellow path. Sometimes the direct way is much better. This is shown in the compass on top of the screen with the same yellow square together with the N(orth), S(outh, W(est) and E(ast) marker. You can switch this way guidance routing in the game settings. Just try what's best for you.
3. Create own tasks
You can generate tasks in your inventory and in the traders menu. They are a kind of reminder what you want (need) to do like a quest, but defined on your own. At the trader it's simple. I you want a special bow or armor which you cannot currently afford, generate a task. Once you have all items it shows up and says you should return to the vendor to buy it. Similar you can create tasks for your missing pouch/ satchel upgrades in your upgrade menu (besides the inventory). It's always good to keep skins and bones from animals in your inventory. They are often used for these upgrades.
4. Shield Weaver armor
You detected the cave with it where you used the power cell and saw another empty socket besides. So you need to return when having the missing cell. This armor is by far the best armor in game ! You should get it by all means!
I will not spoiler now so just allow me to give some hints. The power cells can be found during main quests. Sometimes you stumble over them. But there are also cases, where you better know where to go. So you can decide by your own - there are tons of youtube videos showing up the places in detail. But you can also get the missing cells after end of game by re-visiting the sides. There is even a video which shows up to get it early in game - basically after leaving the embrace and the talk to Varl. But I would not recommend it to you as you don't know the map yet. You need to exercise some glitches in this case too.
And a last one: it might be usefull to pass by the metal world in the embrace where Aloy found the focus. There is something to detect what you might have missed.
5. Vendor maps
The merchant offers special items, e.g. maps for collectibles (flowers, vistas, coffee bags, Banuk figurines). So if you do not want to miss an items while you journey - just buy and bring it to your map.
Thank you! All great advice!
1:51:31 Mother's Heart is like the Nora's main town. The Embrace is the wall that protects the fields of this main town. Outside, there are more smaller settlements of the Nora until Carja terrirory.
The sidequests make the game more rich and add lot of the lore of the game. The main quests are straighforward and only doing these can shorten the game so much.
Loving this series. So glad when a new episode pops up.
Hopefully this won't be seen as a spoiler, but you should really click on (select) the metal flowers in your inventory when you find them.
Also, let me add a mechanics tip: if your ammo container has fewer slots than the number you craft at one time, then it will fill up if you craft more, but it will still consume the same resources as if you'd crafted a full pack. It's a small thing, but some resources can get pretty tight, so...
@@Torawakamaru easily running up to “spear” boars is cheaper than using three arrows on them too.
@@ramapage7538 But fire arrows means instant BBQ :D
@@Vedexent_ true! If only there was a Fire Spear 😂🤷♀️
God, I love meeting Cren. His family is just so cursed.😅
You can always whistle for your mount and fyi you can loot while on your mount, at least plants and stuff.
Those are both unlockable abilities on the skill tree that Liera has not taken ( at least not yet ).
Remember when you got the override, it had a symbol
If you scan each beast you can read about them in the menu. Encountering, (counting coup) fighting, or first time killing them isn't enough like in other games; you have to scan.
If you didn't notice, the Tallneck's purpose was to reveal the map to you, open up the fog, and they won't attack you.
@@JusticeGamingChannel yeah you’ve really got to open the map right away when prompted, to witness the ‘fog’ clearing and the icons popping in, to fully understand what Overriding the Tallneck achieves.
Datapoints, Datapoints, Datapoints. I loved your reaction to the Tallneck. You will have many more "oh shit" moments thoughout the game.
Hi side quests are intreresting, because they help you to understand the world around you, or so I think. Love your way to play this game and wait for next episode!
Another yes to the side-quests, collectables and datapoints. There's a lot of lore (and some foreshadowing) that you'll likely enjoy. Also FYI you can make each weapon tutorial into a side-quest of sorts.
And well worth doing those Weapon Tutorials just for the XP.
Note that the Tutorial Quest must be set to ‘Active’ for it to count.
So nice your back with this
Ooops - I meant to post my comment about mouse/keyboard vs controller at the top-level.
Either you have become better at avoiding unexpected rapid camera movements, or I am getting used to it. Either way, play the game you like and don't concern yourself about whether you are making us happy or not. Our enjoyment will automatically flow from your enjoyment.
Again, an excellent video. I suspect your play-through will be my favourite based on what I am seeing so far (no pressure - LOL).
I've been trying to be more cautious about either moving my camera more deliberately or cutting out the frantic segments haha. It's definitely a good point that you brought up that I should be conscious about.
Happy you're enjoying the videos! I am definitely having a lot of fun with the game! :D
@@LieraPlays this game (and the sequel) are by far my favourite games. I find myself losing interest in most other games when I discover they lack the depth and coherence of lore and story telling that Horizon has.
The side quests are so worth doing. They add context to the world and help you in main quests; are varied with interesting characters and provide rewards and skills. But more importantly are fun to watch!
The sidequests are very much needed for the whole story, do not skip.
One of my favorite games, thanx for streaming this, have fun, enjoy. 👌👌🌹🌹👍👍💖💖
Please do side quests on camera!! Thank you for sharing!! 🤘🏻😉
I don't know if anybody mentioned this, but you don't have to save at a frre for it to become available as a fast travel point. You just need to go near enough for it to turn green on your compass, something i only realised aftre many hours of playtime. I must admit I am currently playing as wel for the first time, and i got a little bit annoyed with how many machine herds there are that you need to either sneak past or spend quite a lot of time and resources fighting. So I ended up turning down the difficulty, and that brought back a lot more enjoyment for me in the game. Also makes it a bit faster to traverse the map.
Something I noticed in the big fight towards the end; if you hold shift, there's a time-slow effect you unlocked that makes it much easier to land hits on important bits. Like heads.
I think you used it only once and on accident.
"What did I get?" : Check your map (zoom out).
A human gets 50% of their DNA (give or take) from each parent, but those parents are themselves ar least 99.9% identical genetically. Most of our DNA is about making us human, not about making us different.
If you haven't discovered already, take some time off recording (or on, lol) to read about the machines you've discovered and look at all of their parts (it's all in your notebook). Many machines have elemental part weaknesses whereby if you use the proper elemental attack on the part, it will explode. You can use your imagination as to what that explosion will do :). The game taught you this back when you were hunting striders for blaze canisters, but many players are receiving so much information from the game it gets easily overlooked.
You need to go through Cauldron SIGMA to override scrappers.
Please consider going into Settings > General and turning ‘Pickup Animations’ to OFF.
This means Aloy can harvest plants on the run, without killing her momentum and having to stop and crouch and pick the thing.
Also experiment with setting your HUD to ‘Dynamic’, for a vastly more cinematic experience. All your HUD elements will pop back up as required when they’re relevant.
Both of these settings are game changers.
This game very much rewards doing ALL the side-quests, they’re worth it!
Very much enjoying your considered and careful gameplay style in this LP! 🙏
I personally don't like the HUD dissapearing, I want to see all the elements at all times.
@ but you can bring the full HUD back instantly with a tap of the touchpad. It’s impressively cinematic with a clean uncluttered HUD. Each to their own though, I just thought Liera may experiment with what she thinks of the Dynamic HUD, you can pick and choose which elements to remain etc.
I got all the collectibles in the game there’s a lot of course
After when you finish horizon zero dawn remastered the PS5 version you have to play horizon forbidden west the best PS5 game
That Tallneck is a level 1 it’s harmless it won’t kill you
Just try walking in front of its feet. I dare you. 😉
Hello
Tu gères vraiment bien😊
Excellent😊😊😊
So simple. I trust you. LG
You have to learn to override other machines. I also recommend getting a sharpshot bot
Tallnecks are not teleports, they are maps.
Only one arrow per watcher? Wow. 😵
Lucky crits!
keep doing the side quest
So, any ideas on where you are yet?
Not yet... I'll keep looking.
@@LieraPlays I meant where the game is set.
@TexasAnlaShok that's what I understood you meant.
The PS5 controller is very easy PC is more harder my opinion
I would guess that's different from person to person. PS5 controller is the one I tried with and it just didn't click with me. Oh well!
@ i got a PS5 and I played horizon zero dawn complete edition the PS4 version I finished all of it 100 percent the game and got so much stuff in the game to me very long time to get the platinum trophy and i played for 171 hours I finished on ultra hard difficulty the Shield weaver outfit is the hardest outfit in the game I’m level 60 and new game plus I’m level 67 I think in new game plus you can levels up Aloy how much you want
Either you are getting better at avoiding unexpected rapid mouse movement, or I am getting used to it. Either way, keep playing the way you want and don't concern yourself about me :-).
Excellent video. You did the cult camp very differently to me (and I have played this game many times), so that was really interesting. The thrill of climbing your first Tallneck is something you will always remember about this game.
Not a spoiler, but something I learned recently. I decided to play the game with everything turned off, including all HUD, weapon reticule, and loot markers. I then discovered that loot plants have color coded butterflies flying around them. You can tell health plants by red butterflies.
The depth of the detail in this game, and flexibility in combat/game play is mind-blowing.
