I think people who buy Nikon do not have the need or want to upgrade and replace because they have the best camera they need, so it stands to reason as to why Nikon has dropped behind.
This analysis is TOTALLY flawed. It makes the assumption that the most bought camera or marketed device is the best. Now that's absolutely subjective. An objective approach to a product will run a detailed comprehensive testing procedure and will make qualitative results based on important factors like price to rugged to features etc... This video is a waste of time...
They're all good. I've used all 3 brands. SONY does what I need it to do and I don't have as many issues with it as I did have with the others. Also Sony footage looks alot more cinematic than the others. I even Add grain in post to dull the incredible sharpness down.

I agree with you I feel they really don't care about what they are selling, they're bringing out so much new stuff but is it actually any good and did what people have really need replacing, take the 5D mkii did it get better with the newer versions, I'd argue not.
If your talking mirrorless full frame, AF & low light AF, Sony. I think Canon has the best all around bang for the bucks with the R5 if you don’t shoot the 8k vid for to long, or at all in the summer. Nikon is gaining with the Z9, but not quite as good. As the tech increases & moves forward, it will change hands going back & forth & the consumer will be the ultimate winner.
If you shoot flash beware that the Sony hot shoe is very weak, vulnerable and unreliable. Its construction and design are flawed. I would shy away from Sony if you depend on your hot shoe. For me personally, Ive shot them all and IMHO Canon is the best overall. However, its a very personal thing and obviously all of the brands can produce great images! 😊

You can use a lens from the film era on the latest mirrorless camera, by using the adapter, you will not face any problem with autofocus. This thing you will not find in any other brand

I only ask because I’m currently using Sony, but I’m about to take a plunge on an expensive lens, and I’m not too deep where I couldn’t switch environments and get a different camera along with the lens type (getting more into macro). Everything I research says something different. Im debating going to Nikon and getting a z6ii.
I think the future of professional cameras will be multi-mini-lenses, like the smartphones (in steroids). If you can trigger speed-lights from your smartphone you probably won't need a mirrorless camera already! Most people only need photos and videos for smartphone audience. I won't be surprised if I see Apple leading the industry and Nikon & Canon making mini-lenses for "iCam" 🥴
Sorry, but Sony doesn't belong in this league at all. (I tried alpha 7ii about 5 years ago and it was a nightmare - unusable bracketing, installation of other programs, etc...)
The major plus Sony has is the vast amount of lenses by Sony and others. Canon doesn't allow 3rd party lenses and Nikon is too small to be really interesting for a big lens push. At least Nikon has brought out the compact zooms from Tamron under the own brand. But they are way more expensive. The Canons are also nice, but where is a cheap alternative to the 70-200 2.8 or an affordable 2.8 wide angle lens. There is no 24 1.4. No affordable 150-500 or similar. So I will stick with Sony. Major minus with Sony is the less than stellar useability. My A7RIII was a nightmare regarding the menu. But the new menu with the A7RV is really improved. So I hope Nikon and Canon will go on to improve and innovate, because that gave Sony a kick in the butt, after they were the only mirrorless FF company for too long.
