The difference between 3000 and 10000 is 7000. 2000 x 4 is 8000. Instead of 4 each he should have drawn 3 (so 6). Either way, he still would have won.

Because most people these days use decks that can take someone out in one or two turns by summoning a army of monsters and increasing there attacks or summoning one monster and increasing its attack or use infinite loop combinations while having many card's to counter almost all effect cards you need to make Exodia decks with that in mind meaning you need lots of ways with lots of combinations to get your Exodia cards quickly from the deck and graveyard stall cards Field clearing cards paralyzing cards that prevent your opponent from using effect's and prevent your opponent from declaring a attack offensive and defensive options draw cards while keeping the deck at 40 card's

Damn u kinda cheated. If you chain activate another Hope, you pay 1000 Life Points and draw the first few cards from the second Hope u activated. Then you pay 1000 LP again and draw the rest of the cards. And not 2000 instant.

drawing 2 moe cards wouldn't make him lose by default. as long as he didn't shuffle his hand, he could just place the two cards back on the top of his deck in the same order. Besides this looks like a locals and not a major event, so I think they wont care at all.

Actually, It does matter, it's a question of principle not circumstances. If you draw when not allowed to, "seeing cards you're not supposed to know about" is cheating, Otherwise everyone would look at the top 10 cards of their deck, place them back in the same order just to planify 10 draws in advance. y'know? there would be no point to the game anymore.

13:25 he should have drawn six cards instead of eight. One card per 2000 difference. With 7000 difference (10k-3k). 7000/2000 is 3.5 times he draws per card. Since you can't half draw, that only makes six draws possible. Unless there's some weird rounding up ruling on the card. Opponent didn't know what was going on so it's not like it mattered too much in the end.
BLARFACE0101 You only draw for every full 2000 difference. If there are "leftover" lifepoints, you don't draw for those.

Man, hope you don't take very serious my comment but you want opinions. This deck was kind of slow. Exodia player doesn't have enough experience to play Exodia w/Hope for Escape. I mean, he drew one card using the 1st Hope for Escape. Should have taken some damage at the beginning to get more cards. I didn't see any gift cards which are very useful when using Hope for Escape (but guessing it was banned or something so he didn't use it?). I usually win by my 5th turn if it's unlucky beginning hand or my 3rd turn if lucky. Although slower if opponent manages to negate me something. But that's nowadays. Some cards weren't available before so I think it couldn't be played as fast as today.

from what i've read in another comment is that you spend 1k lp to get the draw affect that would drop him down to enough to draw 4 each. i havent played yugioh since around 2008 now so my knowledge of cards is very limited now.

i was loosing against a 5 headed dragon and the heart of the cards gave me a polimerization to make Chaos Dragon Knight (Ultimate Blue eyes + Black Luster Soldier)
so i pulled the duel by destroying both dragons (as both have 5000 ATK) and then used monster reborn to finish the guy off

royal paladin I mean...I don’t think you round in this game you just don’t pay the extra. If you were to round in yugioh, using common sense math .5 and greater you round up. .4 and under you round down. What you says would be wrong and he’d draw 8 instead of 6. If the rule is you don’t pay the extra then he draws 6.
It's way different from what yugioh used to be. The meta has changed so very much since the Yugi and Kaiba era.

It used to be banned. For quite a few years, they had it forbidden, but nowadays they have it semi-limited to basically help deal with powercreep. That's probably what TheGamerxx08 is remembering.

It's called hope for escape: If your opponent's lp are at least 2000 more than yours, pay 1000lp and draw cards equal to every 2000lp difference. Example ur at 2000 and ur opponent 9000 pay the 1000 and draw 4
