I fished Stampede a few times last year. The kokanee were big, but they weren't as tasty as others I've had. The meat was more of a pale orange, instead of bright red.

Chris, you will have to come out and go fishing Pyramid Lake October 1 for monster cut throat. That’s was my substitute lake to go to this spring and this fall, since I couldn’t go out and catch ocean king salmon 😢.

After ocean fishing, it is hard to fish for Kokanee. Don't get me wrong, its still fun and clean up is less, but maybe it's just me.

yeah its nothing compared. But if you dont know you dont know so people kokanee fish. Still fun to be on the water. And not everyone lives near the coast or has the means to get on the ocean. Thanks for watching
