This is exactly the tutorial I was in need of, I've had this same light fixture DIY in my head for a couple years and haven't gotten going on it yet, thanks for helping out with some true practical information.
Things to watch out for if you do it yourself: Deburr all cut ends to prevent cables from being cut into by metal shards Use cutting compound for clean threads Use an insulation tester to confirm no shorts on the internal wiring Earth the steel conduit and do an earth loop test (or at least continuity tests) to ensure the earth is making contact throughout Use the correct fixings for the weight of the fitting. Steel conduit gets heavy quickly. Don't just screw into plasterboard or it will come down!
Reminds me of SteamPunk. Like it a lot, but something is bugging me about it. The exposed wires on the two very most bottom lights is fantastic, perhaps it's the wires on the sides going into the walls that is bugging me? Bugging me or no, if I had the wall fixture I'd hang it for sure!
I love this video. I am doing a similar one for a friend of mine but they insist on having an earth wire attached to the body of the lamp. Any advice on how i do that?
@@MOBHouse My light fitting has no place for an earth wire. Do I just use the Live/Neutral on the inside of the pipes as you did, and then use a lug/grounding nut to fasten a separate earth wire close to where I connect to the buildings wiring? Will that be fine?
pin my comment; you wont! Aha, jokes aside tysm for this, will definitely be doing this honestly, do you have Instagram so I can share finished project!?
Hey man! Love how you explained e everything! Could just ask, are you from Malaysia? I'm opening my own Hostel here and I'm looking for the same materials to DIY the interior decor.
@@MOBHouse I understand that they are hard to find, I have also been looking for a while. However, you didn't answer the question. What store did you find them, or do you want to keep it a secret?
Hey guys I followed your video and made the same lamp you are making but I cannot find the threaded light socket you are using! I’m talking about 4:33 of the video. I appreciate if you tell me where you got that otherwise I can’t finish it
Hey man, I think we got the sockets from either Kit Yee Electrical Trading or Camar Letrik at Taman Paramount. I don't think there was a brand name on them and they only came in one size when we got them.
1) I love the comment about your "ghetto solution" for a T-junction.... You're WELCOME! 2) Do you think your Asian coke spoon thumb nails help with the wire stripping process?
Stunning, love the steampunk feel, one question...are those LED bulbs? That may sound like a daft question but recently they've started producing LED's that look just like that.
Nice build overall, but you need to use a better wire stripper tool than a scissors if you are going to do large production volume. A dediated wire stripping tool is safer, quicker, and will not nick or cut the wires.
I rubbed my pipe with paint thinner as you said and it burned a lot and took the skin off. Thanks!!!Now my girlfriend won't come near me!!! O and I'm suing you!! Other than that, great video
I saw a similar product going for $699 on a website and I was like "nope.. someone has done this on YT"... Thanks for saving me a few hundred!
thanks man!
This is awesome!!! I want one. Hmm maybe I can add it to wifi and have Alexa turn it on.
Just came here to support your singing in further videos. Great job. Nice project.
Aww, thank you so much for the support bro! Much love!
You're doing the lords work.
haha thanks man!

Hello, love this project. Can you share the pipe diameter and all the fitting diameters please? especially the one to fit the bulb socket one. Thanks!
This looks like one at a murni store leh
Nice setup

So entertaining 😁
Thanks bro!

Love this! Would you have a copy of the schematics for this design somewhere for the public?
Lol this guy cracks me up. “Here’s our ghetto way” 😂
hahaha too much American TV has converted this yellow boy...
Great project. How much did it cost you after completion?

nice work, what brand for light sockets did you use?
just some randos i picked up from an electrical store
Awesome Build! A good size project to tackle on your own especially without electrical experience!
A small list of the pipes and fittings used would have been super. Please hand it in. Especially the sizes of the fittings for the lamp holder
That turned out sweet!
thanks man! glad you liked it
Nice Work!
Thanks man!
Sweet build mate.
thanks buddy! hope it helps u out!
Love the video you two. This has inspired us to build one for our kitchen.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy making it!
very steampunk feel.
You good Bato. I like what you did but, I want to do something like a floor lamp for my Mancave. Any ideas.?
ooo! You could probably use some weights from barbels to anchor the base down!
And can you please share the complete list of required items with the sizes too? Actually its difficult to find all the hardware in my country
At 2:09, she suddenly flies up into the air like Superman
Ace build do you remember what size edison socket you used to fit a 1 1/4 pipe
Where did you attach the ground wire?
What kind of bulbs are in the center? Does it have connections on both ends or just made to look that way? Nice build.
Where can I find the screwable light bulb socket?
They were pretty hard to find. I just looked up a couple of the local hardware stores and finally found one that sold them!
Bro enjoyed the video...would really appreciate if you could share the location of which hardware shop did you get the pipes..thanks in advance
I love this video. I am doing a similar one for a friend of mine but they insist on having an earth wire attached to the body of the lamp. Any advice on how i do that?
Not that difficult actually. Just route 3 instead of 2 cables

Perfect video on how to make a trades worker cringe
Hi, what socket did you use ?
some random light socket from an electrical shop.
Hey man! Love how you explained e everything! Could just ask, are you from Malaysia? I'm opening my own Hostel here and I'm looking for the same materials to DIY the interior decor.
hey bruh. yea we're from Malaysia. Where abouts are you located?
I wanna see it paint it, paint blackkkk!!!! (Singing) lol
MOBHouse - what are the wire connectors you used?
Called a electrical terminal block
May I know where I can buy the light bulbs? Thanks for sharing, very informative.
The bulbs can be gotten online via Amazon, lazada, taobao or whichever ecommerce marketplace you have access to.
Can we use pvc pipes ?
Question, where did you find the bulb socket and the fitting that screwed into the cast iron?
I went around town for days before i managed to find ones that would fit the fitting so yea.. you might have to do some digging
@@MOBHouse I understand that they are hard to find, I have also been looking for a while. However, you didn't answer the question. What store did you find them, or do you want to keep it a secret?
This was great!!!! Dope DIY 😏
thanks man! always wanted to do a video like this but just couldn't find the time. =/
Do you have a list of all the stuff you bought?
That should have a plug and an outlet on the wall to plug into.
please make a themed version hehe
haha what theme bro?
Hey guys I followed your video and made the same lamp you are making but I cannot find the threaded light socket you are using! I’m talking about 4:33 of the video. I appreciate if you tell me where you got that otherwise I can’t finish it
i went to about 5 shops before i found the right one. i would say either keep searching or buy online maybe?
MOBHouse Productions can you tel me the brand and size?
Hey man, I think we got the sockets from either Kit Yee Electrical Trading or Camar Letrik at Taman Paramount. I don't think there was a brand name on them and they only came in one size when we got them.
Can u mention the list of fitting pls

Yea they are! You won't be able to run more than 4-5 edison bulbs off 1 single power outlet i don't think.
Yup, you're right!
👏👏👏👏
thanks bubba!
Rip electric bill
Nice build overall, but you need to use a better wire stripper tool than a scissors if you are going to do large production volume. A dediated wire stripping tool is safer, quicker, and will not nick or cut the wires.
bro , can i have ur design in specific. .
