I am a lighting designer and repairer of antique lights. You did such a cool job on the lamp and helped me figure out the best socket to use with black pipe, a new area for me. Thank you ma'am
Great tutorials! Thanks. Making a pipe lamp for my brothers for their birthdays. The materials list is super helpful. You may know this by now but I recently learned that fogging on safety glasses doesn't have anything to do with the glasses - it's caused when warm breath escapes through the TOP of the mask and condenses on the colder lenses of the glasses, which happens when the nose bridge of the mask is not a tight fit. So getting a tight fitting mask is actually the cure for fogging glasses!
I'm going to try to do this project with smart bulbs so I don't need to worry about a switch. Plug it on and just command it to turn on and off. :) There are some really cool smart fimament style bulbs which would fit the industrial theme perfectly.
Love the idea ..you're good ..I'll use this idea for my new steampunk theme 24ft complete class c motorhome ..8 weeks n I'll be complete ...from scratch!!
Love your videos... I made a pipe lamp last year and incorporated a working facet to cut it on and off. I like your design you did so I think I will be making another one. Keep the videos coming...
Hi and Thank You so much for this! Great work! Can you tell me the pipe fitting you used and sizes like you answered in your other video with the flip gate valve like you listed for a person asking the same question on your other video. Here's what you listed on your other video for pipe sizes and quantity: 1" flange 1"x1" nipple 1" t-pipe 1" hex 1"x3/4" hex 3/4"x6" nipple 3/4" 90' elbow 3/4"x1" 90' elbow 3/4"x3" nipple 1" close nipple 3/4"x1" reducer Would love to know the same information for this project. You Rock!!!
I know you probably won't answer this but what was that you used at the end where the light bulb goes into? It looked like green putty haha. Oh I see now it's green tape.
Look up soapy water for swimming goggles. Apply some diluted dish soap solution on the glass itself and let it dry. As long as it doesn't get wet again, it should stay clear for a while.
Very nice pipe lamp design. Would like to copy your design but avoid making multiple trips to the Plumbing Supply Shop with a Material List. Was it posted? Thanks.
Looks great but did you give a thought to electrical safety as all touchable parts are entirely made out of conductive material and you have no earthing ( ground) provision making it extremely dangerous !
!;-) Thankyou edited to say i have found when you need to have safty glasses and a mask keep a few on hand that have the center air excape there a couple more dollars but you dont always need them

Brilliant! Very nice work!

thats awesome!! i actually bought a water valve when i made this one, so that i could make one like that afterwards.. such a cool idea!!
Nice. Did you think about a push button or flip switch on the base instead of on the cord? That might give it a little extra umph. 😊
Looks great.
Thanks Scott glad you liked it! Got lot's of other DIY project on my channel, check em out ruclips.net/user/timbertea
Very well done! Thank you.

How do I find the materials list. I love this idea
Seems there's a list of all the materials in the description above.
How do you tighten them all the way in and still keep them at a 90 degree angle? Mine have their own idea on how they wanna stay, ughh!
Great job on the video. Wondering if you found those pipes at a hardware store like Home Depot ofrLowes?
yepp, from home depot and home hardware!
Is there a list of materials?
I know you probably won't answer this but what was that you used at the end where the light bulb goes into? It looked like green putty haha. Oh I see now it's green tape.
What is the name of the piece where the socket goes in ?
Goodday lady. Very nice job,my first one is coming. Cobus🐳
Total cost?
Organic paint is the best.
Look up soapy water for swimming goggles. Apply some diluted dish soap solution on the glass itself and let it dry. As long as it doesn't get wet again, it should stay clear for a while.
lol such a good idea!! mine get all finger-printy!! haha
Do you have a list of materials?
Very nice pipe lamp design. Would like to copy your design but avoid making multiple trips to the Plumbing Supply Shop with a Material List. Was it posted? Thanks.
Found it. Thanks.
Love the black industrial look! Very impressed once again with your skill set!
thanks lindsey! it doesn't really suit the style of my house, but i love the industrial style!
How much do you sell a lamp like that?
Looks great but did you give a thought to electrical safety as all touchable parts are entirely made out of conductive material and you have no earthing ( ground) provision making it extremely dangerous !
As long as her electrical connections are insulated from the metal it is fine - we made it thru the 70's didn't we?
I would add a chassis ground. Better safe than sorry.
What can u use instead of a heat gun?
You could use a lighter on the shrink tubing. Just don't get the flame to close to the crimp and shrink connectors.
3M Solus 1000 safety glasses. Any 3M glasses with ScotchGard anti fog
Dont use philips screws... Use standard slotted brass screws instead.
!;-) Thankyou
edited to say i have found when you need to have safty glasses and a mask keep a few on hand that have the center air excape there a couple more dollars but you dont always need them
would definitely be worth it! it's sooo annoying when they fig up like that!! thanks for the tip :)
Price
I would be double insulating the wire joints in a metal pipe.
husband!? wait a minute! what was all that one in a million talk?
So you’re telling me there’s a chance... YEAH!!!
I literally just laughed my ass off! Thanks.
I’m an electrician, pulling that wire after the pipe is glued would be a pain in the ass, your way is much easier
yes! glad to hear you think so!
Try something called cat crap (I kid you not) found on Amazon it's used by down hill skiers in Utah for anti fog
👍
rain X for your glasses
I'll try that! they drive me nuts!! haha
You should probably ground that lamp eh... lol
Use a face shield.
Get a better mask. Its ur breath from ur mask
